It seems they have with XIV, Verse doesn't suffer from boss syndrome based on impressions. People are saying he's easy on normal difficulty.

There is a good chance that both he and Antonov might be balanced for competitive play. Antonov (the sub boss) I think for sure at least.

Finally got to play KOF 14 and after several hours I gotta say Zarina is gonna be a beast. Like a new Kim Kap Hwan.

• Good range on all her pokes and fast
• almost all her pokes progress her forward for cornering
• has with holding down and mashing HP a move that hits and moves her away to end block strings safely or you can choose to hit HK instead to do two lows with forward progressing sweeps
• corner carry on her combos are great. Even her mashable lp combo.
• HAS A ONE HIT SUPER. This means fuck scaling. This girl can cap her combos with solid damage
• fast multihit cornering QCB move that works as a punish vs most forms of movement and offense
• Her forward LK covers half the screen and hits twice
• Seems like a max mode monster for combos and pressure

Part of what makes Kim so good is solid pressure, fast pokes, punishes vs everything, and he can cap off combos for damage. Zarina is showing this already. Can't wait to see how she does out there. I think her QCB may stuff Mian divekick tom foolery footsies too.
