When I say 'don't push the reveal back' I'm going on the assumption the reveal was planned for much earlier, or at least E3 originally, and stuff happened to push it back for whatever reason.

Considering autumn ends on December 20th, that doesn't change much :p

People (not necessarily who you were responding to) seem to often forget when seasons begin and end. Like the complaints that I sometimes see when a "summer" game is released in September, a "spring" game in June, a "winter" game in March, and a "fall" game in December. Generally, I get the sense that many people conceptualize seasons as being March-May, June-August, September-November, and December-February, from the first of the first month to the last of the last month (even if they know otherwise). It always makes me wonder, then, when PR people give date estimates, if they are using their common sense or thinking of the formal dates these seasons begin.

Sure and repeat the same lackluster launch as the Wii U right? They are taking their time this time around they have made a file card for how not to launch a system without proper software so don't be surprised if this thing gets delayed to summer or Christmas 2017
Wii U had a ton of games at launch, about as much as PS4 or Xbox One. The issue was the following year full of holes in the schedule.

That 1.5B projection is for the free part, which is more or less a demo and doesn't get them any money.

Even if Nintendo managed to sell the game to a fraction of that prejection, at $5 it'd be an insanely massive income for Nintendo.
Especially when you consider the nature of both gameplay and asthetics of the game.
This is literally free money.

You honestly believe they wouldn't care because 1 smartphone game?
People are pretending Super Mario Run has the potential to fund every project Nintendo is doing now. It's ridiculous.

Investors want to see Nintendo make bank on mobile. If an NX delay cancels out any success of Super Mario Run they'll be annoyed that NX exists, not that it was delayed.

It means my December 31st prediction is back on. Nintendo is gonna live stream a giant ball containing the NX dropping over their headquarters.

It also lacked a killer app. Not as much a problem this time unless the unthinkable happens and Zelda isn't at launch.

I've seen some people say "we haven't seen the real NX due to tight NDAs!"
...I'm not too sure that means anything. I'm pretty sure if a company had the power to make the tightest NDA possible that would prevent any leaks from happening that they'd do that for everything

Doesn't the company need their partners to sign said NDAs though? You can't make it insanely restrictive or punitive without putting off some people from signing it. There are for sure many different levels of NDAs possible.

Do Japanese third parties get good exposure on Nintendo Directs, enough so that they'd be all right with skipping out on revealing their NX software on TGS?

DQ has had more exposure on directs than any DQ title has had from SE... even the more recent spin-offs designed to "come home to Playstation" were basically irrelevant footnotes as far as either Sony or SE were concerned.

... but that my have more to do with the fact that they bombed completely in the west and Japan is a wasteland for consoles anyway and the initial hope for the PS4 to save/heal the market has faded under the crushing weight of reality.

Hmm... I wonder if the NX reveal (assuming it's prerecorded) will have a Direct for each region. It doesn't have the benefit of E3 -> TGS that provides a big event for NA/EU and JPN.

I have a feeling you'll have to watch two streams to really now the lineup of the NX.

I think that will be the case for a Direct or a live event.

Japan will have it's own event no doubt. EU/US will be a combined thing.

Fake because it's been deleted or fake because it has been proven fake?

Serious question.

Considering that that tweet is apparently from yesterday and I didn't see it reported anywhere (you all know GAF and websites love to catch these kinds of tweets and report on them), I'm guessing it's fake.

EDIT: And udivision points out that the tweet uses NX's codename... I also find it weird that the tweet would choose to highlight that specific info. Something about it doesn't sound right for an Amazon tweet because it doesn't try to sell the product at all ("Nintendo's new revolutionary NX console is up for pre-order!"), but I don't know how Amazon typically tweets.

But NX does exist, Nintendo is even giving away some as Splatoon tournament prize.

Seeing that fake amazon tweet for nx pre-orders reminded me of a Game store taking nx pre-orders or having a sign up list over a year ago already. I forget which country that was in.

I don't want to blow your mind, but "Nintendo NX" is not a console that exists or will exist.

You're not going to find Amazon trying to sell you a product called "Project Scorpio" about a near from now either.

Millions Dozens of Nintendo fans take to message boards to complain about Nintendo's lies.

If there's a direct+preview event I'd think that would be the case. At least from a global audience they'd get a ton more exposure...not sure about just Japan, tho

Nintendo does make their NDAs that strong. I worked for a company that did 3DS development before it was revealed. The NDA had super severe restrictions, like even the executives of the company could not be told anything about the device, all development could only be done in a windowless room that was locked at all times, including when developers were in it, they could have no internet access in that room, etc.
