Debuting at No1 just like the 3 games in the series covered within this remaster (Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite) is 2K/Take 2’s ‘Bioshock: The Collection’ for PS4 & Xbox One.

After a particularly slow week 36, this week 37 sees 7 new releases within the All Formats Top 40, all of which debut within the Top 20. 4 of these new releases are within the Top 10 and 3 occupy the tops spots. Konami debut at No2 with the 5-format ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2017’ – this is up one place over last year’s debut with physical retail sales down slightly (-3%). Gen 8 (PS4/Xbox One) console versions of PES17 account for 93% of console software sales, up from 86% last year. Debuting at No3 (just like last year’s NBA 2K16) is 2K/Take 2’s 4-format ‘NBA 2K17’.

Microsoft debut at No5 with Xbox One format-exclusive new IP ‘ReCore’. Also debuting this week is Square/Nintendo’s 3DS ‘Dragon Quest VII: The Forgotten Past’ at No12, EA’s ‘NHL 17’ at No15 and Telltale Games’ ‘Batman: The Telltale Series’ at No19.

Those splits are quite shocking, I know PS4 is lead console but those splits are way bigger than the split in install base. NBA being ahead of recore too hmmmm, that's not good at all recore is so cheap too sub £30 most places.

Could have been worse for Recore honestly. No miracle for Dragon Quest VII, but I think the DS Dragon Quest games weren't even in the top 40 or something like that ? That would be a progress.

That's one hell of a slipt for PES. Likewise for Bioshock. I thought things were a bit more leveled at this point in the UK? Maybe I just got the wrong impression.

Any news if either sold "great" or something?

Could it? It's below NBA which isn't really a big seller here, it's also sub £30 release, it's tanked harder than quantum break it seems.

Not *too* bad for Dragon Quest - I expected it to be way lower.

No Man's Sky doing the Space Gods work in Germany and Spain.

No Batman charting on XBO. Really drives home the difference in the two console's audience.

Hmm pretty nice for Bioshock, didn't really expect it to debiut at #1, since it's above PES I guess the numbers themselves should be good as well.

Could have been worse for Recore as well, it's even above Uncharted.

Hoping that ReCore can show some legs what with the price of it and hopefully some decent WoM.

Will be interesting to see the split of FIFA and if that falls in line with what were seeing with PES?

Not a chance it will be very close to even split, FIFA is a massive seller on both systems.

So that means recore sold around 5-6k?. Is that good or bad?

1st week, first Xbox One Exclusive in 5 months for £25? yeah that's horrible.

I almost feel sorry for Microsoft at this point, they throw stuff at the console - ROTR, SO, QB and now Recore and the audience just don't buy it.

"Legs" for ReCore in UK will come when MS bundle it with everything for free...

Unlike the US with the Xbox Slim I wonder how that's doing in the UK vs the PS4. Going off the software at least there didn't seem to be any big bump for it that I recall seeing. With the PS4 Slim now out and looking at the software balance and the imminent release of the Pro I can't see MS being able to catch a break much until Scorpio if at all. Over here it just didn't look like the Xbox Slim gained much traction. Although there is a no doubt heavily bundled/promoted FIFA pack that might help a bit in the all important busy season ahead.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Recore next week. Looks like an under performing title with that debut (though completely expected) but can it hold good or drop like a rock now the
re
core have mainly bought it day 1.

NBA is on PS4 aswell though. But Recore is pretty bad.

When did NBA come out? Google says 20th september wordlwide, but that can't be true?

Down a small percent on last years pes, however I'm betting digital is up enough to mean it sold more overall than last years.

Cool. Really enjoyed the demo, looking to get it sometime soon. Glad to hear it's at least on par/doing slightly better versus last year.

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Recore didn't debut as bad as it could've had, but I fear this will be one of the few bright spots for the game: I don't see it doing anything remarkable in UK either. I'd say the reduced price was a good decision, after all: I don't think it will sell that much, but the MSRP gives to the game more chances to be considered by customers.

DQVII could've been higher (and I wonder if we can have a comparison with DQH), still it was a crowded week (look at how many new entries in Top 10, both All SKUs and Individual). I suppose if we compare it with the other DQ remakes on DS it fared much better, but I need to check; also, it's not a positive point of comparison :p
Still, given this is 3DS in UK we're talking about, I don't doubt it will perform better in other territories.

Good luck with that. WoM right now is terrible.

Current split (PES 2017, BioShock, etc.) is huge. Jeez.....

Around 5-6k for a ~$39 / £25? title at launch? It's terrible. Straight up bomba.

Who have you heard talking about it? Admittedly I only know of 4 people who bought it at launch but they all seem to be having fun with the game and the OT on here seems pretty positive as well.

Who have you been polling?

It will drop like a lead weight, every other XBox one (non forza/halo) has, and this is the worst reviewed of the lot.

Never ceases to impress me how those remasters keep selling so much, 5$is what I'd consider the amount I'd be willing to pay for the bioshock remasters on PC

To be fair, the 500gb Xbox S isn't out yet. It's being bundled with FIFA.

That said, it's pretty much a own goal because now its been overshadowed by a cheap PS4 slim, which is going to be as if not more desirable with that audience.

PS4 - 72%
Xbox One - 20%
PS3 - 4%
Xbox 360 - 3%

61% PS4

That split for PES actually left me a little gob smacked.
The difference in install base in the UK isn't that massive in favour of PS4 but I dunno how the software gaps are enormous.

Hmm I think it's just a unique scenario to PES where most people buying that game are Playstation owners.
Bioshock split is more in line with general trends yeah?

Hoping that ReCore can show some legs what with the price of it and hopefully some decent WoM.

I haven't polled anyone but if Recore could hold any sort of legs similar to Ratchet and Clank (same price range for a lower AAA budget game) I'd be very surprised.
Seems there is almost zero fanfare for the title overall.

The only thing going for Recore is it's not October yet when the floodgates truly open.

While UK has I believe smallest gap in PAL region between PS4/XB1 most splits favour the PS4 quite noticeably. It's pretty clear that in PAL in general, and even in UK, majority prefer to get multi-platform titles on PS4. The general market view is that they'll be "better" on that platform (this of course is a key reason MS is making as sure as it can its mid-gen update is more powerful than Sony's).

Unless a game is bundled strongly with XB1 (say FIFA) or has specific context (say Elder Scrolls Online where split favoured XB1 because, to be blunt, most people clearly assumed it would run like dog shit on PS platform) it always sells notably more on PS4 and often with higher ratio than the install base ratio.

Most available charts in PAL region always show this skew.

Anyway I guess well done for Bioshock collection. A good series of games and even with their flaws still well worth experiencing especially with improved visuals.

Recore seems fairly low in individual chart for this time of year so I'm assuming it wasn't a huge seller. U4 and NMS continue to plug away I see. NMS is particularly interesting in that WoM has been fairly mixed plus of course the controversy but it still seems to sell well both on PC and PS4. I wonder if like say Suicide Squad recently people want to judge for themselves or if the core game actually does stand up enough to appeal. I think it's a little of both myself but whatever its definitely sold well overall and continues to as well it seems.

Here is a start: http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index....p&ct=110015&arch=t&lyr=2015&year=2015&week=42
DQH was 18th in the all formats all prices chart and while that week had less new entries Tales of Zestria did come out at the same time.

Seems about standard for a DQ game in the UK. Square is really struggling to create any interest in the series here, it's a bit of a shame. Although most Japanese games do pretty poorly over here regardless of platform.

Recore bomba. I wonder what the opening will be like in the US. Sub 50K?

Not sure what to expect with Recore. No idea of the budget but never thought it would do much retail Seems like one of those titles that will do okay over time on Xbox store, add on retail after a year and maybe it meets or beats expectations?

PES is historically more a Playstation IP (technically it started on Super Nintendo but you know what I mean), I'm not surprised by the gap.

So in essence Sony sort of beat MS to the Slim party if it was just a limited launch. Seems a strange decision but the FIFA bundle will like last year do really well and be their main bundle over Xmas and indeed up until next September no doubt. I guess that'll be the testament to see if the XBone can recover better than it's been doing with software splits and titles as the bigger hitters arrive too. But yeah it's kinda spoiled by the release of a PS4 Slim and the Pro soon after. MS definitely doesn't have an easy ride to try and claw back any marketshare anytime soon.
