NX officially has the least time between reveal and release of any Nintendo platform

Have you seen Nintendos YouTube videos? So many comments about wanting to see the NX and now people are downvoting their latest videos more because of it lol.

They're unlisted; people aren't supposed to find them yet. People only discovered them since they were part of a Playlist, and Nintendo's channel manager didn't realize they were visible that way
Ahh ok.

Ha, and we have people in this thread talking about how "clueless" or "oblivious" they are not noticing that people want NX news.

Of course they know we want it, that doesn't mean they have any reason to show it before they deem it to be ready.

Im digging this approach by Nintendo actually. I think a lot of things are just shown too early and then overhyped to heaven. There's no surprises anymore and NX is refreshingly different. No media hype, no previews, no exclusive looks by the media. It's great and makes me excited in seeing what it is. I also think the stress some people are getting about is really funny, but I think its a great idea.

The OP is in fact right. Even if you ignore that we don't have an actual release date, even with the Wii we at least had the controller 1 year out.

The rumors may have given us a LOT about the controller, but we've never seen it.

This is in fact uncharted territory for Nintendo, UNLESS they are launching Holiday 2017. Then all bets are off.

"The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men... cruel"

I see Operation: NX REVEAL has begun. It's time for the full assault.

If it were to come out March 31st next year, then that is 190 days away!

Here's hoping for a reveal tomorrow, on Nintendo's 127th company anniversary. If not, then maybe on Nintendo 64's 20th anniversary, on 09-29.

I just hope it doesn't go into October-December territory for a reveal...

Yeah, people make it sound like Nintendo lives on Jupiter. Of course they see all of Neogaf, YouTube comments, their Twitter and all other social media about wanting to see the NX.

Nintendo has a plan though and they'll speak when the plan is ready to be imitated.

I'm really hoping it's next week.

I'm surprised to see people spinning it as a strategy.

They haven't announced it yet because it's no longer coming out in March.

I just saw NX trending on Facebook and thought "it's happening isn't it" and it was just articles regarding the Pokemon CEO interview from the other day.

*goes back into cryostasis*

I see it coming out in November 2017, so they got plenty of time.

I just can't see them tossing more than half of another fiscal year without the new console. I can't imagine that would be a fun conversation at the financial meetings.

March sounds like a good initial release to me, get some games out and have some bundles come holiday 2017

I think they are not confident in NX, but it is the same with many other projects that it doesn't surprise me. They were not confident in Wii U, and let it die out of the gates, they are not confident in a good half of their first/second party software offer, they are not confident in QoL, they are not confident in the breath of wild. Of course they don't even need to be that proud/self confident, but commercially they hurt themselves when they are shy and they prune budget for advertising and marketing their goods. I guess they are stuck within the whole NX project. They do not behave like apple at all.

There's so much wrong here. To say they're not confident in BotW (the premier game featured at E3) is ludicrous.

Investors don't seem to even care about what the NX even is. They only seem to care about mobile and how much money they can make off it. With Mario coming to iPhone, that's what investors are gonna be asking about during the meeting next month. I still say NX gets delayed to next summer and releases In September.

Yeah, they are so insecure about Breath of the Wild that they devoted most of their E3 to it.

Good lord, the conclusion jumping...

EDIT oh sure they are not confident in Breath of the Wild. That's why it was their ONLY GAME PLAYABLE AT E3.

Fuck me how do you get to that kind of conclusion?

First they don't care a lot about E3, secondly they didn't packaged breath of wild into a tease trailer or story trailer or adventure RPG trailer but just sand-boxed some pieces of their game build. It is not so cute, they behaved like an indie dev in a way too big booth space.

I honestly don't know what to tell people who think it's going to be delayed.

There's really not much pointing to the delay other than "It hasn't been revealed yet so it's OBVIOUSLY being delayed." which is stupid. I feel like most of the delay train is coming from people who are just salty that there hasn't been a reveal and people who are always negative about Nintendo(not saying you can't be, but a lot of people are overly negative) which seems to be a large part of NeoGAF.

Do you honestly think that Nintendo can afford to delay this thing? They can't. It's simple as that. The 3DS is on its last legs and the 3DS direct was almost 100% a blowout of the rest of Nintendo's 3DS lineup. The Wii U? It's already dead. It has Color Splash and Breath of The Wild, after that? Nothing. I mean, look, lying to fans is one thing, it's bad, but lying to investors? That's even worse. The NX needs to come soon, by March. Investors are already getting a taste of that oh-so-sweet mobile market. Investors have already been pushing mobile for A LONG time, and you can bet your ass that they're gonna push even harder for more mobile when they see how well Mario does. They're going to push hard if there isn't something else to keep them in check. Of course Nintendo wont crumble under pressure and go all mobile, or even make more mobile plans because of it. But they might lose investors.

As far as we know, Nintendo has officially stated March 2017. There are very few(if any) credible rumors to back up a delay. In fact, if you just use logic you'll see it doesn't make any sense.

.

They're not confident about a system they said they wouldn't talk about until Fall?

Wait, whaaaat... you are right! I totally forgot that. Why did we do that to us? Up till last week every day in our imagination was a potential NX announcement day, when in reality it wasn't...

But are you guys ready? With fall beginning today, every day could be a potential NX announcement day, get hyypeee!

Why? He is right except for BotW. Right now, Nintendo doesn't seem to be very confident about NX at all.

I'd say the opposite. By skipping the holidays and releasing in March, it seems they don't want to rush it out the gate. Also adding to this is Kimishima saying that they want to make sure there's titles available at launch to avoid another 3DS/WiiU situation.

I'm holding out for an announcement next week tbh. Not sure why people are expecting an announcement tomorrow.

Most we're going to get at this point is maybe "hey there's a big Nintendo event on X day in October!"

There's not going to be a stealth NX direct in September (at least I don't think).

None of that makes sense.
They decorated their whole E3 booth based on the game.
And the game was THE or one of the talks of the whole show.

Is this sarcastic or simply a joke post?

It's releasing in March. 5 months is plenty of time to do a reveal and get some excitement building.

Dunno if it's March but I agree it's still plenty of time. In the tech world, entirely new or dramatically different products are unveiled and launched without a hitch in a fraction of that time. Waiting many months to a year after unveiling new products is a dated practice of the video game industry.
