Does anyone know if you can have 2 ps4s activated for the same account? Thanks

only 1 as primary, (Beaten like a dead horse)

I have 2, i usually set the downstairs to primary so littlun can play my games on her account, and the upstairs one i have to be online to play my stuff.

You can do it through the sony entertainment network website. Log in, go to account settings, go to devices, PlayStation systems, PS4, and there's an option to deactivate. I think you can only use that option once every so often though. Otherwise it's just a matter of getting in touch with your friend, signing on or having him sign onto his PS4 using your account, going to account settings, go to "activate as your primary PS4" and deactivate it.

I have tried to use that option actually, unfortunately that doesn't work as it just tells you that deactivating the account can only be done on the PS4. I had to use the deactivate all button. Needless to say, all my devices were deactivated for my account

Q: Can I use my PS4 Pro as a “second” primary account?
No, you can only choose one PS4 device to be your primary account.
I'm keeping my original PS4 so all I need to do is deactivate it and set-up my PS4 Pro as Primary, then I should still be able to log-in to my original PS4 and use all my content, right?

So you can still access your games on the non-primary ps4 as long as you log on to your account from your 2nd ps4?

Ah, just realized I was supposed to post the code i had used, not just the number.

Oh well. Didn't sleep much of last night so when I did it everything was kind of a haze BUT thanks to the transaction history I found it.

So... it was #132 and the code was A63Q-78N2-3KK9 (alien theme bundle!)

Ok so i booted up World of Final Fantasy and I got a weird issue. The graphics feel grainy, especially the characters and monsters.

UI seems crisp and environments too but all the characters look grainy/low res and it's bugging me

yeah, any PS4 thats not primary you can play your games when logged in, so you could have someone elses account as primary on the second PS4 and play all their games + yours.

Are you on a 4k tv?

I'm fucked then, I think a few others are too on that basis.

What about if you restore from backup?

Games not installed currently, but same problem with saves that way?

I dont want to re-install 30 odd games tomorrow just to download the save.

From my understanding mate, the game data has to be on the HDD in order to either copy or download the save file for said game.
If theres no actual game data, you just get a message telling you its not installed.

I'd imagine doing a system transfer from PS4 to PS4 Pro with the Ethernet cable way will be fine, as it will transfer the game data across.
But I wont be doing the data swap as I'd prefer to keep the system completely clean and re-install only games I want on there and not everything I have on my PS4.

Question for anyone with a Pro who's put their own HDD in it by now, I already know the answer, but feel I need it confirmed by someone who's potentially done this.

It is the exact same firmware we use from the website to install the OS isnt it? I know its the larger one due to it being a complete install and not an update, but I just wanted to check.

I'm going to transfer data using the external 2TB drive I use for my XB1 as back-up, and move the 2TB internal drive I have on my PS4 to the Pro.

Let me see if I've got everything double-checked:

1. Backup my existing PS4 files to the connected external drive (no need to wipe the external drive beforehand, right?)

2. Deactivate all accounts on my PS4

3. Remove the internal 2TB drive from my PS4 and connect it to the Pro

4. Connect the backed-up external drive to the Pro

5. Boot up the Pro, restore the contents from the external drive back to the internal drive

Is that all correct?

Regarding firmware updates, should I boot up the Pro first with its included drive and install the latest firmware, or can I do that when I connect my internal 2TB drive to it?

Awesome thanks, this makes it an easier decision for me to keep my OG PS4.

I just got back about 20 minutes ago with my Pro, set it up and am currently restoring the backup I made on my old PS4 this morning onto it. Hopefully there's no problems.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
I think I'll re install the games without internet connection so I don't have to spend hours getting patches and copy the saves back over so at least they will be on there.

quick question: can you still charge miscellaenous shit on your Ps4 pro standy like you could on the OG?

I used to charge stuff like my iPhone, my bluetooth headphones, and my vaporizer on it. I found it quite convenient.

Quick question...

I'm backing up my old ps4 to an external he'd, about 1.5tb of data....I don't see an option to just move select games? It's all or nothing?

What happens when I try to move this to new ps4 pro? 1.5tb won't fit on the pro....

Hey y'all, for tech help and steps on transferring data, this thread seems to be a good spot for that discussion
http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1306563

And the blog explains too
https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2016/11/09/how-to-transfer-your-data-from-ps4-to-ps4-pro/

But then i get confused by this: - Connect both PS4's to the same, ideally wired, internal network. Gigabit equipment is recommended.

How can you connect both PS4's together to transfer data - if you've to connect them both to each other via internet.

Surely you should connect wirelessly to your network on both machines that way the ethernet port on each is free?

Also. . do you have to be signed in to your PSN account on both before you start the transfer?

Just got back from gamestop. Apparently they are doing a special on OG PS4s for $200 trade in. They also let me reserve a Pro for $50

The external drive needs to be either FAT32 or exFAT (preferred) formatted, most are NTFS by default. That means yes you might have to wipe it.

You have to reinstall the firmware to the new / moved drive, and you need the larger full install file for that (~900 MB instead of ~350).

Where is the best place to trade in my PS4? Should I buy a PS4 Pro now or wait for possible bundles with black friday?

Are the codes all gone from the mid thread post ? Trying a bunch from the 1-65 posted but they're all saying not correct/ no longer valid.

You have two options

1. Both PS4s are wirelessly connected to the router, so they have internet access. Then you connect one PS4 to the other with the ethernet cable so they can transfer directly between them. (WiFi transfer of content would...take awhile, which is why they need the cable.)

2. You plug both PS4s into the router individually. They have internet by default and can communicate with each other over the router too. This only works if you have enough ports, but it's temporary...

What you can't do, for example, is have your old PS4 wired to the internet but your Pro on Wifi. You need them both connected in the same way (otherwise you'd have no way to cable connect them)

Gamestop is offering $200 for them right now. I think it's just a special for the pro launch.
Must be local for you. I asked the woman today, went on CAG, and checked around on their site and it's all $150.

Also it's not in the weekly ad.

Outside of the hardcore bubble you wouldn't know the leading console manufacturer had a new console hitting tomorrow. I've barely seen any mainstream chatter about it whatsoever in my social spheres, it's crazy. Marketing has been pretty lackluster too.

A former coworker that I play with fairly regularly online didn't even know it was a thing until I mentioned it to him last week. I wasn't surprised.

That's odd. The guy I talked seemed to be a manager so maybe regular employees don't know about it.

Anyone else want a color logo insert for the top? I miss the colored logo! It'd be cool to have one in PS1 grey too!
