Ugh I want a PS4 Pro but I cannot pull the trigger for some reason. Even as an owner of a 4K TV I just don't know what games are worth it right now.

Tried TF2, BF1 and First Light.

Very happy. PS4 Pro basically seems like bullshot simulator the images look so good.

Nothing but black screen when plugging in on my 4k tv. Get broken audio but no picture :(

Edit: This fix worked for me. Start it in Safe mode and the the HDCP setting to 1.4 then reboot and turn HDCP off from the normal menu.

Getting this with Vizio P series. 4K/ RGB not supported. Anyone know what's up?

Why does it say only 2k supported? Hmm..
what model year?
Mine says that too 2014 P55

I know he 2014 is a 10bit panel but only has 8bit support or something like that. Have to double check the AVS forum.

RGB is 4:4:4 chroma. P-Series does not support that; KS8000/9000 does.

http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/vizio/p-series-2016#comparison_200

With the newest firmware, P series is supposed to support 4:4:4.

But also what's the deal with only 2k supported for HDR? Weird.

2016 P50.

Pre-order from Target delivered today. The PS4 Pro box was barely even closed, the sticker was barely on there. I'm hoping it's just because they were in a rush at the factory and not because it was opened somewhere down the line.

Ethernet transfer is starting. I can't tell how long it's going to take because the counter keeps jumping around.

I just pulled the trigger myself and I don't even have a 4K set. I ordered it online so I should have it Monday or Tuesday. So how am I feeling right now? Very good actually. I feel no remorse or regret. I've been on the fence for a month now, so right now it feels like I'm 10kg lighter. It's a good feeling to have finally made a decision, and obviously a decision where I will have a far more powerful console.

For a little more visibility - World of Final Fantasy is messed up at 1080p on Pro -

Yep - this looks like dogshit on Pro at the moment. My first pro disappointment. I spotted it straight away. Loads of aliasing and the depth of field and blur in some scenes is way off.

I fired it up on my old system to check and yep - it was fine there on the same 1080p TV. Maybe it looks okay on a 4K screen?

Anyway I came with screenshots from both systems -

Standard PS4 with 1.01 patch -

rDow42Z.jpg

PS4 Pro with 1.01 patch - Screenshots set to 1080p to match standard - I have 4K screenies too - they look like crap too!

The aliasing at high contrast edges looks real bad and Tama is almost blurred out of existence. Please fix for the love of god Square Enix.

There was no line up today at my EBgames.

There was a near riot state with the launch of OG PS4.

I hope its selling well..Maybe there was a line up earlier today that I missed.

Did anyone else's Download and/or Upload speeds skyrocket going from regular PS4 to the Pro?

I normally have about 100 down on my computer but would max at 25-30 usually on my PS4. I tested when I set up and now I'm close to 90 down. Didn't matter if it was 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.

Nope. My downloads are being capped at 2mb by PSN on both ps4 abd pro. Had to setup a local proxy to get better speeds.

Just completed my data transfer and there's one thing I've noticed: I get a distinct disc reading click/noise when playing, at least in Ratchet & Clank I just tested out. I had the sound on mute so of course that makes it more noticeable but it sounds kinda offputting. Then I put in Gravity Rush and didn't hear it anymore after a bit of playing. I don't know if I should be worried, or if more people hear the disc reading.

Hmm just did a search in the thread, seems like more people are getting these noises. And it's the hard drive apparently?

Possible solution to those with black screens:

Shove that HDMI cord in the PS4. Shove it hard. I thought mine was in because I heard a tap but it wasn't in all the way. It's a really tight fit.

two raw images of the checkboard 4k UC4. looks amazing from a distance, just don't sit too close to the screen lol

horizon checkboarding implementation looks better IMO but this is still nuts

Still looks great. I wonder if it is possible for devs to see what things don't scale as well and render them over the top of the checkerboard. So in ROTTR the birds in the sky for instance look weird, but can they do the scene, checkerboard it and then render the birds on top.

Fuck me that cocked that right up!

Some Titanfall 2 screens. Anyone know if it matters at all if you do 1080 screenshots from the ps4 or doing 4k then downsizing it with a program?

Minimal difference to the image, though doing it yourself gives you more options about quality.

I don't think the disc should even be spinning outside of the initial install, except for a short time right after starting a game to read the disc. Are you sure it's the disc drive and not the HDD or system fan making noise?

Only managed to briefly try a couple of upgraded games so far, COD IW and Rez Infinite, but the IQ on a 4K set is fantastic. Everything is so sharp and clean.

Also really like the new Dualshock, feels good and being able to see the light through the touchpad is a nice touch.

Yeah it's probably the hard drive or fan... Maybe I should record it with my phone tomorrow.

Current solution is to turn off your console. Then hold the power button until it boots into safe mode. Change the resolution to 1080p. Then the console will boot. If you disable HDCP you'll then be able to select 4k without it being a black screen. Only problem is I believe by disabling hdcp we can't use Netflix etc.

This needs fixing.

Make sure your hdmi plugged in all the way in to your console. I've had the same problem.

These are not the solution. This could do with having a seperate thread as it's a pretty huge screw up by sony considering this thing is designed for these tvs. It's getting buried in this thread.

I've got my old system transferring to the new right now, but could someone tell me if they use the same power cord? Getting the old system out of my entertainment center is going to be a bitch if I can't just leave the cables behind to plug into the Pro.

Alright! Picked up my PS4 Pro.

But I need peer pressure to get me to go buy a 4K TV.

I'm considering getting the KS8000 - anyone own that set that thinks the difference is definitely worth it?

Nope. Had the same idea.

It's nice to not have dumpster fire network speeds. Forgot to download Dishonored 2 yesterday and it's only going to take a couple of hours on the Pro versus the 12 it'd tell me even in rest mode.

Still not what I'd get on a computer but a massive upgrade.
