I picked up the Hue lighting and Amazon Dot combo on sale. I'm going to need more Hue bulbs though, has anyone seen them on sale anywhere?

Is that a good set? I remember something about a bunch of 4k tvs not really doing 4k but I can't remember exactly what the complaint was with cheaper sets.
It does real 4K, it doesn't do real HDR tho.

I have been researching this TV myself and from the looks of it:

+Good/Slightly above average for gaming
+Low Input Lag
+Great Picture
+Great Price

-Meh for movies/TV shows
-Reflects a lot of light
-Fake HDR
(Review goes into more detail)

I saw it in person and it looks pretty good. I am not a TV expert, but HDR wise, I could barely tell the difference between the fake and real HDR. The Ku7000, is a bit more, has a better picture quality compared to the Ku6300 and doesn't upscale the "samsung ultra hd" like the 6300. I think that has fake HDR too. The KS8000 has real HDR and the picture quality is unreal.

I wanted a Nest thermostat for years but it's looking like we're going to have a mild winter this year and I won't be turning on the heat very often, if at all, and I'm having a hard time pushing myself to buy one while it's on sale.

Sweet, thanks for the info! I feel like being just meh for TV shows/Movies kind of defeats the purpose. :(

Looking for a decent computer monitor from Amazon. Know nothing about monitors. mostly for school work but also want to do some gaming, nothing too twtich based in terms of games, but things like Stardew Valley.

How is this acer for $120

Looking to spend less than $150. IS a 4ms response time ok?

Samsung for $99

Non ips. Is ips a big deal? Iam not a fan of light bleed, so I was thinking that a non-ips panel might be better for me.

Of course, I told myself I wasn't going to wait in line today in the cold because that's what I do every Black Friday and it always sucks and what happens? My brother asks me to wait in line because he won't make it in time to get a good spot.

Fuck me for being so accommodating. At least I'll get a good $50 out of it.

Bummed to see nothing yet on any Bose products. Would be tempted by a deal on some QuietComfort or SoundSport headphones.

Its about as good as it gets as a budget set. The whole HDR thing is like a turf war right now, there's HDR10 and Dolby Vision. I think the only ones supporting both right now are Vizio and LG, so until that gets sorted out I'd stick with a budget set.

What in the blue fuck is amazon doing selling star trek beyond for $40? This is directly from Amazon and it's been listed this way for a couple of hours now.

You missed the meethue.com sale? They were sell the 180 colored starter kit for 60.

I haven't been looking at the color hue sets because I don't want the color lights. I'm trying to set up my moms place with voice activated lights for christmas present. The Dot Hue deal got me the starter kit for basically $50 which wasn't bad from what i've seen. i did check the site you linked and they do have the bulbs for $2 off with free shipping so thats pretty good, saves me $10 on 4 of them that I wanted so thanks!

Anyone got a bead on a good 40-43" 1080p TV? Or know how much I should be spending on one?

I'm still rocking a 26" 720p from like 7 years ago for gaming. I think I'm past-due for an upgrade.

I'm eyeing up a new 4k receiver for the future but haven't seen too many that make me jump. Hopefully some things pop up tomorrow!

Kind of a weird request but any deals on a small wine cooler?

Is $40 good for a pair of UrBeats? I know the brand is overpriced. I just want a pair of earbuds to last longer than a year.

Bit on an Anker power bank (one of the few ones that I know are reliable) and got myself a 2nd gen Philips Hue starter kit ($120 on Amazon). Something to make use of my Amazon Echo from being a glorified alarm clock.

I setup some deal alerts on slickdeals for the Nvidia Shield. It's dropped pretty low in the past, so hopefully it will again tomorrow.
