Death Stranding Discussion (12/2016 trailer)

I admit that although I have been firmly against the idea of the Pro, this might be the game to sell my soul on.

Though I bet by the time it comes out it'll be a launch title for the PS5.
Yup. Willing to bet this drops in 2019.
Shit by the time this releases we'll already have played some good games and hopefully TLOU 2.

Yeah the only thing from the spoilers I read was the supposed cast.

I guess that it must say some pretty crazy stuff though as people keep hinting there is some weirdness in there. I don't wanna spoil myself on the story though other than what is officially unveiled.

Oh shit.

I just noticed that an umbilical cord connected to Mads' character was pulling the baby doll towards him.

Trailer gave me intense chills

Was Mads Mikkelsen known before tonight because that guy called it. I avoided reading anything beyond the 1st post because I guess it reveals major plot spoilers.

Yeah he was heavily speculated to be in it for months. People knew he was in it from an obscure photo in like August where a mysterious person was at a MoCap studio wearing a red hoodie and later a fan posted a selfie with Mads in a similar red hoodie that was taken on the same day in the same city.

What a twist!

Now I'm curious to see what Sucker Punch's next game will look like.

Kojima literally putting every real person he likes in this game.

I'm for it

I don't know what the fuck is happening but I'm for it

Both MGS4 and V had better visuals in pre-release footage than in the final build.

I reckon MGS4 in the first showing but that was the trend of 2005 showing pre-rendered stuff for PS3 but I don't think MGSV was downgraded. The differences shown in comparisons were just design choices.

I know nothing except that I need it

and I don't think there has been a time where I was as hype about so many games about to be released and in development

Hmm guys, looking at the potential casts for this game, it might end up over 100 mil+. Sony is going all in here.

At least if fails horrendously it'll fail exactly as Kojima wanted. Maaan, I want this

Like a lot of that budget could end up being paying all these famous dudes

If Sony are completely funding this, why are they allowing a PC port?

We shall know about it maybe more during the panel about Death Stranding during the PSX but it is true that if Sony finances completely the game by allowing even Kojima to use the engine of Guerrilla, that seems strange that they allow an release on PC so much the project seems expensive for them (if the leak 4chan on the casting is true, anything that the budget for the actors must be indecent) but maybe that it was one of close that Kojima wanted absolutely.

There was as an interview that said there was going to be a PC port but this interview was quickly eliminated thus things maybe changed since the announcement of the partnership because for the moment we ever heard spoken about a PC port.

Fro all the talk of weirdness with this game, is there anything weirder than that tank? What the hell is going on with it?

I could not tell at first if this was just a normal tank with entrails strewn on top of it or if they were a part of it, but seeing it at this scale definitely clarifies that it is a meat tank. The open hole shows what looks like a rib cage, and there are arm bones hung up on racks like guns or ammo.
This is in line with what I have been theorizing for a while, that there will be no intention of explanation for the contents of this game, that it may be going for pure traditional Surrealism. The things we see may be all thematic icons with no assumed cause in any reality or fantasy, a work of art that is what it is and pays no mind to causality.

Yeah that was weird. Haha.
But looks interesting.

BTW: this is the new trailer?
Don't remember a first one.

Looks like something a Super mutant would love.

Dude this is a Kojima game. There's going to be an explanation for everything. Kojima never works on just one level.

I thought the trailer was boring and I kept waiting for something to happen that didn't. I wish there was a bit more to it or a bit of context about what was going on. Do we even know what kind of game it is? Like FPS, or stealth TPS?

We don't know if there's a PC port anymore.

We know. They just wont market it and that's understandable.
The game is in REALLY early stages. That is something that may release in 2, even 3 years. With a PC port a few months after, so likely in 3 to 4 years.

You're right, there's some conflicting reports with regards to the engine being used.

At the very least, it seems to be a Sony WWS engine.

Wait for PSX panel for confirmation I guess.
Either way, Decima is a cool name for game engine.

not surprise if its Suckerpunch engine, replying the game atm with pro patch and hdr, still better than most games that came out this year and runs like a dream. The engine is open world ready, perform well and has great facial capturing tech which meet the game requirement.

Interesting how much of the game is revolving around umbilical cords. Del Toro's character using that contained baby as... protection? Some sort of connection to life/innocence to avoid whatever this corruption is in the world? Mads controlling his squad via the same thing. Soldiers trailing that tank also looked connected to it.

I think there's a list of spoiler out there somewhere. Also, we find out more (I think) at PSX.
