People who care about the sort of stuff Digital Foundry look into (frame rates, input lag, frame pacing, IQ etc) are definitely the sort of people the PS4 Pro has potential appeal to.
Sue me, but I'd never have bought The Last Guardian if I *didn't* know the PS4 Pro version ran at a near solid 30.
DF is getting to be really annoying. Personally their shit about resolution and frame rate testing is ruining gaming for me. It's like we can't just enjoy a game without worry about what framedrops happen where or what dynamic resolution a game is using.
And people are into it so much to dick wave which version of a game is better. It's getting old.
DF retro is the only thing they have that interests me anymore.
Speak for yourself. For those of us that can't help these things getting in the way of enjoying a game, having this information is hugely important. I don't give two craps if it upsets or provides ammunition for console warriors. I couldn't play Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 and wasted my money on a game I couldn't get into due to the frame drops. Frame pacing problems also do my head in.
And what I mean by that is that it pulls me right out of the game and the world. For me, frame pacing problems, or frame drops below 25 fps for any extended period of time, is like having someone who keeps talking during the movie. I really wish I could ignore it, but I can't.
