Sony Playstation: First Party Studios & their Current Projects

My actual prediction for Dreams is June 2018. It's gonna be a difficult game to market, so dropping it during the summer game drought seems like a good idea for it to sell more

Going with the theme of most anticipated first party game mine right now is Horizon because it's so close, but after that would probably be Days Gone. If they can polish the shooting up that game will be special. Well actually my most anticipated is Death Stranding, but in terms of games that we've actually seen gameplay it's Days Gone after Horizon

You and me both. Cinematic movie to art piece to game. So many ideas floating in my head

Dude yes! I have so many ideas that I have a notepad full of ideas. Hopefully we get beta dates and info soon. I'd love to share my ideas once they get made! The wait is killer lol but I know it will be worth it.

I have a few sketches but to make it work I need to know how they'll handle music can I combine different sounds are there just set tracks etc

After Gravity Rush 2 and Horizon, I think I am most looking forward to Sucker Punch's new IP. I'm interested in seeing how Days Gone turns out with what it is trying to do but I think Sucker Punch is more up my alley.

And yes, it will be 2018.

Has anyone hinted at to what this new Sucker Punch IP might be?

A unsubstantiated post from someone without any history said that s/he knows some SP devs and their new game is something along the lines of a "space game."

Grain of salt, but it's the only thing we have out of completely nothing whatsoever.

I'm hopeful for games like Horizon, Nioh, God of War, etc delivering so that I don't have to see so much "concern" about studios, their track record and the inability of people to have empathy and think that maybe... in the span of X years, people could improve or develop their skills/talents further to make up for weaknesses exhibited from lesser products.

So much this. I understand the internet is the internet, and I don't expect everyone to like everything and hold all their thoughts to themselves. But I wish as fans of videogames and people who actually follow the headlines and industry, that we'd be a bit more civil and compassionate when sharing our thoughts on developers and creators; especially when we know they visit sites like GAF and we know how hard they work, and the conditions they work under.

A commercial for Horizon just played during the Fiesta Bowl (which Playstation is the main sponsor). No new gameplay, it starts off with a countdown to 2017 and then starts flipping through years until the year 3000 and ends with "Earth is ours no more", then the release date pops up. So that should alleviate any delay fears.

Nice. Should be put up on YT soon.

Hope we can get a full gameplay blowout soon

So, the PS Europe twiter account posted a sizzle reel of games with the following caption

#HappyNewYear, everyone! 2017 is going to be a big one for PS gamers. Here's just a few of the #PS4 console exclusives we have coming.

In the sizzle reel they have Detroit: Become Human, Matterfall and Dreams, games that were never confirmed to be 2017 before (Matterfall kinda expected but never confirmed I think). So it looks like they are aiming for this year with those games.

Dont know if it means anything, but if it was just a generic ''exclusive games coming to PS4 at some point'' they would have listed TLoU Part II,GoW and Spider-man

What do you guys think?

EDIT: sooo beaten, hangover sucks

For a while I was expecting Detroit in 2017 then someone (can't recall their name) on here who appears to have a connection to Quantic Dream (they posted the name Detroit on here shortly before it was announced) posted to probably not expect it until early 2018 I started doubting a 2017 release. It would be good if it does indeed come out this year. That video seems a bit misinformed though as it labels NieR: Automata as a PS4 exclusive but Persona 5 and Nioh as console exclusives when the complete opposite seems to be the case.

I'll believe it when they announce actual release dates. Until then, I'll just assume some over-eager social media person threw them into the trailer assuming they'd be coming out this year (and fucked up the exclusivity watermarks at the same time).

I've tweeted to devs and Shu to clarify/confirm release dates for Detroit and Dreams.

I don't have a lot of trust for the marketing team driven trailers. We've already seen them mess up with Nier, listing that as PS4 exclusive despite it having confirmed a PC-release.

Worth noting they said it's only some of the exclusives coming next year, so just because something is missing, doesn't mean it is not 2017.

I guess its this one?

Cool idea but not really a great ad IMO

Who knows with some of the mistakes in the video, but Nex Machina was listed as a console exclusive as well, was that known?

Also two Housemarque games in one year, that's pretty exciting. Anyone know how many people work there?

Both SIE London Studios and Manchester Studio (formerly North West) are currently hiring for 24 positions (mostly permanent) to work on their future VR titles, confirming their VR direction (while reddit users report disbanding and closing down VR production :)).

Closing dates for applications are mostly Jan-Feb 2017. Roles include animators, engineers, developers, artists, producers, and more:

I didn't like Outland all that much, but I'm always interested to see more games from Housemarque, and the initial trailer gave Mega Man vibes.

EDIT - that being said I've barely played Alienation yet, so maybe I should spend some time with that one first!
