Bandai Namco
-Tales of Berseria port
-Dark Souls 3 port
-Tekken 7 Switch version announced

EA
-Fifa 2017 coming at launch

Capcom
-Resident Evil 7 port at launch
-New Monster Hunter confirmed to be coming to Switch

I feel like I am being unrealistic with these predictions. O well, I am hyped for January 12th.

Hardly unrealistic. This almost meshes with what I believe should happen.

The only thing that is a stretch are Prey and Dark Souls 3 coming to the Switch.

I also see more than this being revealed. You forgot to mention Ubisoft directly who I believe will release 1 more game on this platform in addition to the 3 already confirmed or rumored. You put Rabbids/Mario under Nintendo but Nintendo isn't developing it, Ubisoft is with some input on Nintendo on how to use their property.

I also see Ni No Kuni 2 definitely being announced during this event as well as 1 game from Atlus.

I also seriously believe they will get a major Indie game like Torment Tides of Numeneria announced for their launch window.

smh. I'll share a sleeping bag with a family of alligators if Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 is announced for Switch. I mean why would that even be a thing

30-45 minute presentation.

- New Zelda trailer (game launches in March in NA/JP)
- Mario is unveiled for launch in Europe in place of Zelda
- Mario-Rabbids RPG shown
- Retro/Monolithsoft/Pikmin later in the year, "more at E3"
- Sizzle reel of 3rd party ports that are mostly from Ubisoft with maybe a couple of late ports from other third parties, DQIX and Skyrim here for sure
- Very basic confirmation of BGE2, Metroid
- Wii U remasters, GC VC, Mother 3
- Switch trailer that gives a very fleeting rundown of OS/hardware features (like IR and game recording) "with more details in February" or something
- March 17th, $250 16GB, $299 32GB with Splatoon in the US, Zelda in Japan

That's what I'm expecting.

Aostia

El Capitan Todd
Everybody knows I am negative about how they are or will manage a great concept as the switch could be
So I expect

Launch window only games
No Mario
Very few not spoiled or leaked games
TOO many wiiu ports
No Pokemon stars
No monster hunter
Very few interesting third party games especially from Japan and from the portable side of things
Zelda being delayed in EU
Too high price point (249/299)

What I would hope for instead would be quite the opposite

An actual good and constant stream of games coming to the console with:
2017 software overview
2018 few software tidbits
An actual merge of home and software lineup with Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, fire emblem, animal crossing games all announced and confirmed
An actual merge of Japanese portable brands and few western home brands coming to the console with monster hunter, ace attorney and level5 lineups merging with Ubisoft, activist on and Warner output
A price more in line with the hybrid concept and not pretending to be a home console (199/249)
Zelda be at launch also in EU
Some way to cheapen the purchase of wiiu ports to those who already purchase them previously
VC actual fllodgate and not the usual drought and mismanagement
My Nintendo coins obtained playing games

smh. I'll share a sleeping bag with a family of alligators if Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 is announced for Switch. I mean why would that even be a thing

It's not like Nintendo has a long history with Kingdom Hearts games <_<

Kind of hoping they don't announce a port of FFXV... I don't need to triple dip... but I would.

1) No specs, no discussion of power at all
2) Big focus on Zelda
3) Official Announcement of MK8 and Splatoon ports, both framed like they're not ports (but they are)
4) Tiny bit more of Mario
5) Beyond Good and Evil 2 is the only third party game officially announced. No Skyrim.
6) List of partners shown with lots of logos of people who have expressed interest
7) Price is a bit too high
8) IR pointer is confirmed

You're good at this!

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Almost all the third party predictions in this thread seem so random lol. I guess that makes sense since nobody has any idea what to expect outside of what's been leaked but it's still funny.

I have to say though Tales of Berseria makes little sense to me at this point, it's launching in the west this month and they've probably moved on from it entirely in Japan. I guess it could be a late port, not the worst random pick I guess.

Also, can this system even handle Resident Evil 7? Capcom's pushing it as their most graphically intensive game right now.

I mean, more KH games have debuted on Nintendo consoles than on anything else, going all the way back to Chain of Memories, so there's always that...

I expect Nintendo to overdeliver. This is their all or nothing moment. Switch has to succeed or it's 3rd party time for them.

The time has come! The moment is at hand!

I'm most likely setting myself up for disappointment. So during the stream I will be like "Is this it, mortals? Is this all the fury you can muster?"

They'll reveal their own system wide achievements/trophy system so it applies to every game, just as it does with xbox and playstation.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
- Zelda looks to play incredible. Big focus. Technically safe as a port and looks like a sharper Wii U build.
- Rabbids x Mario RPG quirky and lively. Clearly targeting the younger demographic. No real scope of game complexity.
- BG&E2 short CGI teaser, like Bayo2's reveal.
- Pikmin 4, looks dope. Obviously began on Wii U.
- Mario looks like Mario. Cool. Not for launch.
- Bunch of Wii U ports. Mario Kart gets the most new content. Splatoon mainly cosmetics. Smash 4 is just the Wii U build with all DLC and some 3DS content, no newcomers.
- Mid-late 2016 third party ports, some upcoming third party ports (Tekken). No exclusive content.
- GCN virtual console. Not available at launch.
- A lot of marketing time dedicated to virtual console stuff now on-the-go.
- Metroid/F-Zero nowhere to be seen.
- Safeish B-tier third party exclusive or two from publishers testing the waters. (All will tank).
- Pokemon saved for E3.
- Retro nowhere to be seen.
- And Monolith.
- Platinum too.
- Arkham Knight It's-a-new-game Edition.
- Heaps of complaining on GAF about the graphical capabilities despite the writing on the wall.
- Battery life predictably low because battery tech is fucked.

These games aren't debuts though..... they're rereleases that aren't even coming to xbox, which DOES have a Kingdom Hearts announced for the system already. Come on now.

Actually an equal amount have debuted on PlayStation consoles (PS: KH1, 2, BBS) (Nintendo: CoM, 358/2, DDD) then for remakes Re:coded debuted on Nintendo but Re:CoM debuted on a PlayStation console so they are equal.

Damn you just leaked the presetation. Really spot on.

- Bunch of Wii U ports. Mario Kart gets the most new content. Splatoon mainly cosmetics.

I think you have that twisted. They showed a small clip of Splatoon where everything was new. New assets, new animations, new map, new everything while Mario Kart was the same track, same graphics with a new driver and two items.

We already heard about new modes for splatoon.

Ah screw it.
-Stream length will be 70 minutes long, primarily divided between 60 minutes of game announcements, and 10 minutes at the start focusing on the hardware.
-Zelda will be confirmed for launch in Japan and the Americas, its European launch will be kept somewhat vague.
-Mario Switch will get a goddamn name, showcase a co-op mode with Luigi.
-Just after that it'll transition to the Rabbids RPG, which will also be a launch title (Mario Switch itself will be oddly unconfirmed). Mario series amiibo will unlock special moves that can be used once per battle.
-Splatoon expanded port further explained. Has built in updates that the Wii U version won't get, but the two versions of the game will technically be compatible on what maps they share.
-Mario Kart 8.5 will be formally announced, an expanded port exclusive to Switch. Transfer of save data and/or usage of a Nintendo account that previously played 8 will unlock a special but ultimately unnecessary costume for Mii drivers.
-Oh yeah, Miis are still around. Promises of innovation to the Nintendo Account system will be made, but left undetailed.
-There will be a 'third party montage' at one stage. It will promise "All your favourite games on the go.", highlighting but not technically confirming a good range of third party ports of already released titles.
-There will also be an indie montage that, in contrast to the third party one, will specify and confirm every title showcased.
-Ace Attorney HD titles will be announced, looking to be ports of the iOS and Android versions.
-Lady Layton will be revealed as getting a Switch port, but not as a launch title.
-No Metroid title
-No F-Zero either. Not even on gamecube VC.
-Speaking of which, Gamecube VC will be confirmed, but only as part of a general VC montage, and people being eagle eyed with blink and you miss it footage.
-No Pokemon Stars announcement, or anything similar. At most there will be an odd mini-game collection that probably exists solely to make sure the models work on the system.
-Monster Hunter Frontier Z is getting ported to the Switch, though this will be revealed only during the Japanese version of the stream.
-Western audiences will instead be assured the Switch is getting FIFA. Mario in his Strikers getup will be an unlockable character.
-Custom Joycons will be showcased, with basic variants being in primary colours, but there will be at least one exclusive to a new, previously unhinted at title that will also be a new IP.
-None of the performance specs will be confirmed.

Hm, what can I add to this...

-One gimmick game where you have to go back and forth between roaming and the dock, treated as two different 'worlds'.

directly_thumb.jpg

- Direct is hosted exclusively by Hideki Kamiya
- The Wonderful 102 is announced, coming at launch. Kamiya and his team reveal they've just stepped out of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and have been working on it for three years while only a few minutes of real time has passed
- It's so goddamn fucking sick that nobody even sees the rest of the Direct because they're too busy running around screaming.
- The trailer ends with each individual Wonderful One becoming leader of a planet, then all those planets combine into a giant Megazord to fight a galaxy-sized boss. GAF complains that Platinum spoiled the final boss in the trailer; it turns out it was only the first miniboss of the game.

If the rumoured impressive launch window is true im guessing we will see hints at

-3D Mario
-Splatoon/Smash/Mario Kart Enhanced
- Breath of the Wild
- Animal Crossing
-Pokemon Stars

Those 7 games plus Yoshi's +Poochy will be Nintendo's inhouse launch lineup. Might also get Mario Maker Switch.

3rd Parties

Square
-Dragon Quest XI, FFXV and some smaller spinoff titles

UBI
- Steep
- Just Dance
- Ghost Recon Wildlands (built on the same engine as Steep)
- New IP

Capcom
- Monster Hunter
- A Fighting game

Bethesda
- Skyrim

Activision
?????? Maybe Overwatch

EA-

I'm expecting a game (or game bundle) that highlights each feature of the switch. Gyro controls, touchscreen, IR pointer, etc.

Examples of local multiplayer between switches using Splatoon and (fingers crossed) a rocket league port.

A story trailer for BotW.

A teaser for the new Mario with its own direct to follow later in the year.

A short montage about getting "all your favorite games on the switch" showing all the enhanced ports and the new VC lineup. Followed by new first party titles being announced.

Third party line up will open with Skyrim music and the classic fus-ro-dah shout to announce the Skyrim port. Then we get a montage of other third parties coming to switch with larger ones getting talked about for a few minutes (game devs their to show support for switch and market their games) and others getting a direct later.

Maybe some indoor pyrotechnics just to really seal the deal and make the room hazy on the stream.

About an hour in length.

The Switch version of Zelda dominates the conference (no mention of the Wii U version, gets quietly canned while everyone is foaming at the mouth over the Switch version). Still, the European Switch version is confirmed to be releasing after the NA/JP versions and fans riot.

New Mario game gets shown off a bit.

Smash Bros 4 port revealed.

New Metroid game revealed, which shuts everyone up about Nintendo not caring about Metroid.

More third party multiplat games than we were expecting.

But the price will be higher than we were expecting.

I also expect mobile games to be presented but I could put my finger on what games would be shown off aside from a port of one of King's games.

Ace Attorney is a good pick.

It'll be the same old Nintendo first party games- Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, handful of years old 3rd party ports like Skyrim that everybody who wanted to play has already played.

-I like the idea of two different Switch prices: casual and pro. Thinking $250-$350 USD
-BOW at launch

Damn this is almost spot on. There is probably a sizzle reel of titles(mostly Japanese) currently announced for PS4 coming to switch. Kingdom hearts, tekken, dq10/11 etc... I do think skyrim will be shown tho.

Wow exact! Agree with sense that we will see a reel of mostly japanese ports of recognizable franchises.
