It's not about the box; I'm aware that Switch is by no means a powerhouse. I just expect devs to carry themselves in a more dignified manner. Not saying don't be honest about the Switch's specs, just saying have a bit more tact. Especially when your current title is underperforming.

Unfortunately for you and a lot of people in this thread it didn't tank. It had a weak launch but the sales recovered nicely in November and it was one of the best selling games that month. Also trying to brag about a game flopping because it won't come to your favorite console is some really sad shit.

My switch will only be used to play nintendo games. Thats just the way it is, fellow ninty fans. Get a ps4 (or similar) like I did for everything else. Why truncate your hobby to placate a company who gives zero fucks about you?

Well, he isn't wrong. Nintendo gave up the arms race a long time ago. They prefer to fill a market hole rather than compete for the same demographic and developers as Sony and Microsoft. If anyone was expecting the Switch to be a home for all the big AAA 3rd party blockbusters, then you're being delusional. Nintendo is in no position to rule the industry with an iron fist like they did in the late 80s. The gaming industry is a shared party now, most companies capitalize on a specific niche and just keep rolling with it. That's fine, no need to homogenize every company into the same box.
However, he could've politely declined on a Switch release for Titanfall. It'd be sad news, but it'd a lot better than being an asshole about it.

And I'm pretty sure PC devs make similar comments all the time and the threads don't blow up like this.
I remember when games ran like shit on the PS3 people were pretty defensive of their favorite toy too, Everytime a dev said developing for the cell was a waste of time, it wasn't until the PS4 came out that people stopped being delusional.

I bet there are other devs who would respond the same without alcohol. Generation after generation third party devs ask Nintendo to think of them when designing their next platform. Nintendo only pretends to listen right before unveiling new hardware that is designed only with first party in mind.
They've been actively alienating devs for 30+ years. Obviously some are going to be tired of walking on eggshells when it comes to Nintendo.

...but it doesn't have a campaign. Whereas 2 has one of my favorite campaigns in many years.

To answer to all the people who quoted my post : Yeah, my added comment was a bit childish, as it was supposed to be answering to the already childish comment of the developer (which isn't that childish when you watch the video, but I was going by the OP's transcript). I added it to mark my question as why he would talk like that, if he isn't in a good position (since his game bombed, in the charts). I don't think it's really comparable with the hundreds of "lol salty Nintendo fans" comments, but do what you want. I just thought that kind of behavior was only found in trash message boards, but even there it seems to be completely present. Must remember that for the future.

I love the "Nintendo fans" replies, like, if you're not a Nintendo fan you can't think that this guy had a crappy attitude. I enjoy Titanfall 2 on PC but it doesn't stop me from thinking that a crap attitude is a crap attitude.
