Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon didn't save the Wii U. And motion gaming hype isn't how it used to be.
Sorry for being skeptical, I'm sure the Switch will do better than the Wii U. But it needs more to become like a Wii-level success.
Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon didn't save the Wii U because the Wii U was a marketing, pricing and product failure not seen since the Virtual Boy, not because those series don't sell consoles. Both of those games sold more than most AAA do nowadays, put onto a console people who aren't Nintendo fans want to buy and yes, they're system sellers. There's also the fact that Wii, 7 and DS were all pretty major system sellers for their respective consoles.
But yeah, it likely won't become a Wii-like success I just find that argument a bit tired and well, wrong.
