What is your Switch travel case solution (if any)?

Finally got an email from Amazon confirming release date delivery for my Nintendo Switch Carry-All Case.

It'll be a nice case for now until I move on to the Waterfield case.

I'm leaning towards the RDS Industries because it looks a lot sturdier than the PDP and it looks like the zipper won't get in touch with the switch as easily, but I'm kinda worried about the flap that seems to be in constant contact with the switch's screen. Just one sandcorn's gonna be like sandpaper then.

Damn, it seems like the PDP special edition console cases have been delayed in Europe (or just in the Netherlands?). I pre ordered it at two different retailers, and both emailed me saying it has been delayed until further notice.

Really disappointing, I wanted that Zelda case, but I am not able to just wait months for it to come out and to meanwhile have no case at all :(

Is there something like a cheap, <= €10 case that could work as a temporary solution?

Same thing happened for me in Austria. New delivery date: March 17. :(

Well the middle flap on the RDS is supposed to protect the screen (you can see it has velcro to hold it down even) so I'd assume it would be soft on the bottom so as not to scratch.

Also I don't know if you saw the video of it before it was taken down, but there are fitted holes under the system to hold the included game cases and a hole for some JoyCon Straps, as well as indentations for the triggers.

Ah okay, I was wondering where the "extras" go.

Do you guys have any recommendations for screen protectors? I haven't been using screen protectors in the past but once I get the first tiny scratches on my devices they bug the hell out of me. So I wanna apply a protector day 1 and not have to worry about it anymore.

There seem to be 2 tempered glass protectors:
- Orzly
- amFilm

Frankkly I haven't heard of any of those 2 companies...

Looking all through this thread, I'm settling on the Waterfield CitySlicker Case for the Switch, and since I won't have my Switch unit for a few months, don't have a problem pre-ordering the case and waiting for delivery. Not sure if I want black or brown yet. Debating if I want one for my 3DS too, they're so slick looking.

And speaking of cases, I posted this in a Switch Accessories thread too, but I would be over the moon if a company makes a dedicated case just for the Pro Controller itself. For 2D and Fighting Games, I want to bring this with me in my pack as I travel, but have the Pro Controller sealed and protected as I travel, rather than having it loose in whatever bag I'm using that day.

I have my finished list of accessories that I aim to get in the next month, only wish is a Pro Controller Case and I'm set.

I have the RDS case pre-ordered, but I'm thinking of switching to the PDP one. Just looks much nicer to me, and I'm not a fan of the separate plastic cases for the game cards in the RDS one. I guess it might protect them better from dust and such, but it just seems a bit cumbersome to have to mess with that. The little game card pockets in the PDP case seem more convenient.

However, the RDS case easily seems more sturdy. And I'm not sure if the PDP one has the cutouts for the triggers like the RDS one does? I'm not sure how I feel about the Switch resting directly on those inside the case, especially if it's going to be sliding around a little.

EDIT: Hmm, on the other hand, I suppose those plastic game card cases could actually prove useful for game storage at home as well.

I want that City Slicker case but I'm a little concerned it will press on the analogue sticks too much. I'm going to wait for some impressions on how snug it actually fits in there.

I don't think there's any leather case for the switch right now, waterfield's making one made of nylon (or something) with a leather flap.

You're better off getting those heavily padded ones like RDS Traveler Deluxe Case like this
Can it hold charging cables as well? I like this one.

I will let you know. That is also a concern of mine. I have a trip on 3/18. They say it will ship on 3/15 and I got 2-day shipping. The trip should be a perfect field test. You can message me also if I forget to update ya'll and you want impressions.

They actually expressed that as a concern and made some design choices to make sure this wasn't an issue. Not to say that automatically makes it perfect, but it's definitely a good sign.

I bought the Hyperkin Eva case and it shipped and should be delivered from Amazon tomorrow. I'll let everyone know how good/bad it is.

The official Nintendo case is up on Walmart right now for 3/3 delivery.

Edit: Looks like it may have sold out again.

Going for this Gioteck one.

Looks solid all round, nice moulded area for the switch itself + joycons attached, slots for 14 games / memory card holders and another pouch which is apparently big enough to store another set of joycons too. Or headphones, charging cables or whatever else you wanted to take.

UK doesn't have as much choice for cases - the RDS one isn't available yet for some reason. This one seems a good buy.

Looking for something simple and available in the UK - just a slip case or simple zip up case but needs to protect when it's in a backpack with a laptop and usually a lunchbox so it can get pretty snug in there

PDP doesn't seem to be available

The Master Edition case is fine for me if i need to ever take anywhere but i am not a fan of how almost all of them do the screen mesh over the screen i would love a flip over ipad style case that can fit while docked and a case fitting for it where you put the switch screen in with the flipped over protection then have 2 slots for the joycons and a couple games.

It's really a non issue since i don't live in a big city so i don't really have a reason to carry it with me but i would like a nice case for the house since a lot of my play time with it will be handheld.

Also, bit off-topic but i forgot what thread i saw it in but someone got something for their bed that lets the screen hang hands free? I need that shit asap.

The official case seems to be exactly what you want. £20 on Amazon or £16.99 on Nintendo UK(you have to pay postage below £20 though). Comes with a plastic screen protector.

Dunno if that's a bit pricey for you.

See my post above yours - could be up your alley if the price is right.

Looks a bit thick for my bag. I think it's down to the official Nintendo or the hori tough case. Are there dimensions available? And are both hard shells?

Here's a clip of the PDP zelda case. After seeing this, I'm thinking about cancelling my preorder of the regular PDP case. The doesn't look sturdy enough for me. I'm also unsure how I feel about the mesh bag.

Yeah. I hear you. I'm rethinking as well, now. I have the Mario version ordered.

These PDP cases will offer scratch and dust protection, but not much, if any, bump or drop protection.

I still might keep it as an at-home dust protection and game cart storage solution (14 slots is nice), and get a Hori Tough case later for actual transport. Not sure.

Getting the Hori tough pouch and officially licensed one to compare the thickness. I'm pretty sure the Hori case will be thicker due to the "tough" label but if it's overly thick, I might just stick with the officially licensed one. Also have the zelds SE case but won't use that as much.

Picking up that hybrid case so I can just slide it into my backpack. Have a special spot for it that would keep it safe.
