So far, this sounds awesome. Need more details of course, but I may hook plug the xbone back up if it works out.
Instead of giving us new games, they give us new options (BC, EAA, GWG, now this) to play old games... But it seems consumer friendly enough so there's that I guess.
Yeah, basically.
I have pretty much all of those games already :/Quick and dirty list from the alpha test:

Heh, I was just wondering to myself which of the big platforms would do a subscription service first. Microsoft wins.

It's releasinf before E3 most likelyThe fact that they didn't announce this at E3 is weird.
It's likely a two-phase announcement. The fact that they didn't announce this at E3 is weird.
I'm just explaining the words you quoted to you. I'm not trying to divine unstated intent.
How many of them are XB1 titles? Three?
Could be worse.

What about new games though?
I don't want to play old games
Just signed up for the Alpha, only about 5 Xbox One games the rest are 360 ones.
Seem to be mostly games that we've been given free through GWG so far in the test. A few other ones though.
Well, PS+ suck ass and PS Now don't exist in Europe so Yes, Sony, your move.
Whatever they do with PSNow, it's worse.
This and Scorpio at the end of the year.
Maybe I'll Jump In.
Sweet, hope I get selected for that.
Not a huge fan of what are now essentially 3 different tiers of service
XBL Gold - you get multiplayer, cloud saves, and 4 games a month but now will those games be as good?
EA Access - you get your EA game pass sub service
XBox Game Pass - ok, now you get some different games
I'd frankly rather collapse all 3 into one tier, $10/mo or $70 (?) a year gives you access to all of it. Or at best two tiers - XBL Gold gives you multiplayer/cloud for $20/yr and pass gives you everything for $10/mo.
Sony won't even try to match this
It's not a complaint, it would actually be outrageous if they let people keep them.
But so many are assuming they do keep them. And the same for the 20% discount. That's for game pass titles only.
But wait, doesn't MS have some leverage here since these are BC titles that can be played locally on the XB1 compared to the PS4 not having BC which means that PS Now would be the only option for PS3 titles?
I don't think this is a answer to anything, just MS seeing a market and making a move. My point was Sony don't need to make a move as they already have comparable services.
Where do I sign up?
I have pretty much all of those games already :/

Yikes.
rofl......
That's letting go of way too much money. It's likely a two-phase announcement.
Online-multiplayer gaming will no longer be behind a subscription. That's the E3 announcement.
Microsoft has clearly done an excellent job hiding the fact that these games are only playable while they are part of the play pass service, subscribed or not, downloaded or not, judging by the reactions assuming otherwise.
It really is like netflix- when something is removed from the service it's gone. You would have to purchase it to play that game.

Damn this is good.
I say damn cause I only own a PS4, Sony plz offer a service alike.
I did not say it was a complaint, but it is obvious what you have been trying to do.
As I said. People dont tend to read much of the time.
Yikes.
