No filters. 480 x 270 scales up evenly to 1080p/4k. The game also can adjust that native 480x270 to slightly different sizes to scale evenly to other more resolutions.

Does that cover QHD as well?
Since you can't scale 480x270 natively to 720p/1440p.
(1080p here, just curious how you handle those resolutions).

Just wanted to reiterate that all of our games, including Cosmic Star Heroine, can be streamed freely. We have no problems with monetized streams either. Feel free to reference this post as proof if any video hosting site questions you.

Anyway, preordered on PS4. Persona 5 can wait.

(Still haven't finished P4G)

Yeah, I just think it's funny. I personally derive no enjoyment out of watching somebody else play a game, but when you've got people literally wanting to give your game free marketing and you tell them no, that's just ridiculous.

And we've had a policy to allow streams and monetization from streams for years so it's not like this is a new thing. I just thought the timing was amusing.

I'm in the same boat, I wouldn't watch people to play games when I can be playing them myself in that time, but it's still a free marketing as some people like watching streams, and nobody forces them to watch if they don't wanna said games spoiled.

I aslo don't think that not letting people to stream games prevents them from posting spoilers in verbal form that can't be controlled and happens on a regular basis.

Nice that it's finally coming out!

I was interested in this for a while but I have to admit that I got a bit tired of waiting and hearing about it.

Might pick it up at a later date.

It takes time to make games. I really don't understand this line of reasoning... my desire for things doesn't lessen because they're taking the time to get it right.

Maybe, but there's really no point for us to do so. Steam version is already DRM-free and any extra sales we get on 3+ year old games by putting them on a new platform is likely to be miniscule at best and more than outweighed by the extra hassle of having to support a new version and additional storefront.

Hmmm. Supporting GOG is a good thing in and of itself, especially for those of us who love to play from GOG rather than Steam. That said, I backed it on KS for vita, so I won't be getting it on PC anyway.

The general impression I got from asking around is that the people who care about achievements/trophies, don't want them to be very hard and the people who want a challenge, don't care much about achievements/trophies. So I'm just trying to give people what they want - if you like achievements, it's not too hard to get them all and if you want a challenge, well, have fun on some of these bosses on the highest difficulty mode with no grinding. :)

I like to platinum games to feel like I 'mastered' it. So while I don't want grindy trophies [kill 1000 orcs], I do like having the 'hard endgame bosses' behind trophies, because otherwise I feel like I already beat the game. For example, I left some of the postgame dungeons in DT2 unfinished because I'd already got the plat, even though I loved the game... I wanted that content to unlock trophies to have the 'reason' to beat it.

Basically want trophies to represent 'mastering' a game. Not grinding. Not collecting. Not playing MP for 100 hours. I'm a big fan of Souls trophies lists [minus the limited material grinding like the hell I endured for pure bladestone in Demon's] because by the time I complete them, I feel like I earned it.

I like Platinum trophies that aren't tedious and encourage you to explore the game's world and/or systems in a way that maybe wouldn't have occurred to you naturally.

Hey Robert, bit close to Persona 5 no? Though I guess since this is a smaller title it doesn't really matter?

Super excited though, day one purchase here

Just gonna repost when I said earlier to this question:

"Basically, Sony came to us and offered us a slot in their indie promotion and we felt that the visibility gain we would get from that outweighed the proximity to Persona 5.

We also do have some advantages - our game is a fraction of the price, requires less of a time commitment (and is probably much faster-paced from what I've heard), has a fantastic, original combat system that I'm especially proud of, and perhaps most importantly, is available on more platforms. I'm thinking we might have a lot of instances of RPG fans getting excited for Persona 5 but not have a platform to play it on and instead transfer that excitement to Cosmic Star Heroine."

And I think if you're a fan of turn-based RPGs, there's a good chance you'll just end up buying both.

Just bought Persona 5 but still picking this sucker up on Steam - so you are correct!

I don't even know if there will be a next game - I'm pretty burnt out from this one and we have to see if it sells enough to make back expenses from this game as well as cover additional development of another game.

That's sad to read, actually. I was planning to wait for the Vita release (or maybe even until further news on a potential Switch release), since it's the kind of game I'd rather play on a handheld, but now I'm back to buying it day 1 on PS4. If Cosmic Star Heroine is just half as good as it looks like, it's going to be a real treat and I hope it'll be financially successful for you quickly.

You should totally go the Radical Dreamers/Phantasy Star II Text Adventures route and release a VN dealing with the game characters. Post-game or pre-game, up to you. :)

How long do you estimate it takes to complete CSH the first time around?

I don't know. We're trying to get one last patch in before we send out reviews so it's going to be tight. I don't even know if there's going to be any reviews at launch, much less before.

Hope there aren't any game breaking bugs lol.

Does the game auto save, or is it save anywhere, or only at save points and overworld like old jrpgs?

Not sure if it has been asked previously but what's the estimated file size for the Vita version? Need to know if I need to free up space.

Me too! I just fixed a freeze bug with the cutscenes in certain combinations of situations which was the last major bug that was still eluding me. Of course, there's always the possibility that I've missed some so I'm still looking for stuff up until launch (and beyond).

You can save anywhere from the main menu.

Game is currently just under 5GBs. Not sure how much we'll be able to get that down for the Vita version if at all.

LOL, as a former achievement junkie, this is absolutely true!

But then again, I am proud of certain achievements that were hard as hell to get.

This looks right up my street. Doing p5 but I'm still buying this day one if not before. Can't believe this wasn't already on my radar. Extremely excited :)

So true.

One time, the last Twisted Metal was on sale at Amazon for $5.

I was gonna pick it up, but I looked up the trophies and saw they were almost impossible to get, so I passed on the game.

I don't think we would do an Action/RPG - it could be fun but there's a TON of competition there compared to the turn-based genre (so many Metroidvanias). If we do another game, it would almost definitely be setup similarly to Cosmic Star Heroine since I took so much time writing all this Chrono Trigger-style RPG code that it would be a waste to only use it on one game.

The idea I have that's the most fleshed out is a Persona-style game set in a post-apocalyptic world with a heavy dose of Castlevania gothic style & setting.
As someone thats been with ya since Breath of Death VII on 360, godspeed with whatever you decided to do.

I've finally gotten into Persona's battle system with P5, and it kind of makes me even more excited for this lol. For the longest time I pretty much only enjoyed the regular FF ATB systems when it came to more or less turn-based stuff (probably cause FFs are super easy for the most part), but I'm slowly starting to enjoy a wider variety of them. I'm really eager to see what you've done with the battle system here. Am I right in remembering that you can retry battles if you die, or at the very least not go back like 30 mins to when you last saved?
