Blade Runner 2049 Official Trailer

Looks a lot more actiony than the first one which was apparently shown to be more action instead of noire and philosophical which is what it actually is.

I hope this movie doesn't change that and have it be so action orientated, it'd be pretty disappointing if so.

I'm also still disappointed that the religion which is a big part of the book and was missing in the first movie also seems to be missing from here.

Still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that this is a movie that's coming out. For some reason I never expected them to revisit Blade Runner. That said, this actually looks good.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

Blade Runner is my all time favorite sci-fi

Feeling good about this sequel. Faith is there, hype is through the roof!

It doubles up. This trailer will be used as a (YouTube) advert.

It's also for social media. When the video gets posted on FB/Twitter, and autoplays, it's better to have some immediate action and visuals to grab people as they scroll by. Otherwise, they'll just see studio logos.

What is up with trailers showing bits of what you're about to see before actually starting the trailer? Why is that a thing now?

Because then you can use that video asset for pre-roll advertising on YouTube and get the view count to include those who organically watch it and those who view it as an advert before something else. The five seconds are to catch people's attention before the "skip ad" button appears.

It looks so good I can't tell where the cgi begins and the practical effects end. Also what a cast I haven't been paying much attention to the casting about this movie.

I'm in. I like the original and Villeneuve has yet to let me down.

Gosling's jacket game is on point as per usual.

So the book's setting was a post-World War Terminus that made some place of the Earth uninhabitable for humans due to radiations. It was like a mix of apocalyptic and cyberpunk where parts of the Earth were just wastelands. This movie seems to be taking that outside wasteland environment from the books that the first movie never explored.

They use the same video as ads so the view count stays in one place.
The one answer that actually explains it. Thanks.
holy shit mackenzie davis is really channeling pris here
I didn't even recognize her. She got nothing on Pris tho.
I mean. Because nearly every piece of cyberpunk cinema since Blade Runner owes large parts of it's aesthetic to that film.
You could say that, but GitS and this actually share a similar clean aesthetic, which isn't what Blade Runner looked like. Oh and both have giant holograms. Guess those will be a thing in the future? :p

I'm thinking Jared Leto has found a way to make replicants procreate. "I can only make so many."

Yeah, that's what I was wondering about myself. I dont' know what it is that Gosling is trying to figure out, but what with watching a replicant get born, and that specific line, it really does seem like we're dealing with a movie where humanity is either already outnumbered by Replicants, or is facing an immediate future where that's about to happen.

I know, I was surprised too. I watch pretty much all the major releases but nothing that he has been in.

Looks really good, but I think they showed a bit too much towards the end.

So did this trailer use real score for the movie or is this trailer music bullshit again?

Real Score, you can hear parts of the original Vangelis music but it's a bit different.

Teasers up til now haven't done much for me, but this. That music, the classic smoggy skyline shot.... Ooft. Wow. Looking like a quality production from beginning to end.
