Halo 6 won't be at E3 but 343 has a "little" something to show

As said in the other topic, I'm fairly sure this is down to Phil not wanting to announce games far out now.

I think he's actually being serious when he wants to announce games close to release, which will make for a boring E3 as we already know a lot, which I'm not sure is a good move with the recent narrative of xbox having no games lol, but we'll see how it pans out

Personally I think it's better this way though

Halo RPG developed by Playground.

Yes.

Hey they are working on a open world game that isn't a racer, it's not impossible but probably not. I can definitely see a Halo RPG working though. Could be either third person or first or both. Enough interesting things in this universe to work with.

Halo 3 didn't get the Anniversary treatment in TMCC but rather just an increase in resolution and framerate.

The Anniversary treatment gets an all new visual layer on top of the old version bringing it more in line with what folks would expect from a 2017 title as well as remastered audio and God-tier Blur cutscenes.

Cheers for explaining.

If it's H3A that's an absolute fail. Halo needs a shot in the arm not a retread over old territory.
If H6 isn't ready, no reason to rush it out the door so people can hate it. H3 was enormous, the anniversary will do just fine, I'm looking forward to it. Plus a short H6 CGI teaser and I'll be happy. So in my opinon, no, I don't think it would be an "absolute fail".

Its Halo. It aint ever gonna get cancelled and we all know its coming.

exactly, so why announce it years out?

Nothing will change whether it's announced this year or next, there's no need to announce it

I have no problems with them making us wait. If fact, i prefer it this way. Im just making the point that Halo isnt and will never be Scalebound.

And with all of 343s trailers recently that never seem to pan out, i prefer they dont do anything that isnt representative of the game.

Gottw be 3 remastered, they were wise they would integrate the new graphics option into the mcc as well as a few revamped and remade mp maps, free for everyone who owns the game

They've already said repeatedly they aren't doing it though. Not sure why people keep bringing it up

Im thinking a Scorpio patched Halo 5 might be shown. Im assuming the hardware will fix the weird ass background enemy framerate animations. Either way Halo needs a break, unless we're getting ODST 2 which I would be down for.

Yea I agree

Halo 6 is coming out in 2018, there's no arguing that.

IMO it should be. New IPs - Announced 2 E3 before. Sequels - Announced 1 E3 before release. I think those are fair timeframes.

What if people at 343 don't want to make a new IP? I mean, they all applied and started working there knowing that they were only going to make halo games.

Things can change.

People went to work at the coalition to work on a mega new IP to stand next to the likes of Halo and Gears of War and got told a few years in to just make gears until the end of time. If the people upstairs demand it. It will happen.

Personally, my dream would be in between Halo 6 and 7 343 do what Naughty dog did between Uncharted 3 and 4 and experiment with a new franchise. I dont see that happening but man. It would be great to see a team with that much money pumped into it try something fresh.

How do they go about doing betas they've done in the past that were actual feedback betas. Assuming they don't announce it at E3. If they randomly announce it this year it would feel anticlimactic, If that's the case I'd much rather have it at E3 to generate hype.

The game's presence would elevate the conference, for me a Halo reveal at E3 always gets me giddy.

You Sir have a good point. They will be having a beta, how would they have a beta after announcing the game at e3 in the year of release.

That would be a late beta which might not provide enough time to implement feedback.

In all media, only true fans who consume every book, film, game, or pog collection deserve to know what's going on.
I mean, it has to be right? It's the 10th year since Halo 3 and isn't this the way they've been doing them?

I believe they have said that they aren't doing that. I know Frankie had said like 4 months ago there was no plan. Also how would they do it? Would it be a stand alone? I doubt they want to touch MCC with a 10 foot pole.

343i was made to BE the Halo studio. Split them into different teams to work on non FPS Halo's like Halo Wars and the Spartan series but keep them Halo. Go work at Rare or a new studio if you want to make a new IP. Don't go working for 343 if you don't want to work on Halo.

The coalition chose to work on Gears over their new IP. It wasn't forced.

Well I don't think they need to announce the game properly to announce a beta. It's Halo not some new IP, people know Halo 6 is coming.

They could also announce it at Gamescom, like in 2014 where they showed games coming but further away. Don't think they will but it is an option.

Apologies for saying "Special Surprise" earlier. When I saw "a little something" I had said that by mistake as that since usually those two would sometimes go hand in hand. Didn't mean to throw anyone off when I wrote that, so sorry about that.

With that said though, now it makes me wonder if if this is even going to be seen as important depending on what the "little" is actually going to be shown. Would this be in teasing of another Halo spin off? or could it be something unrelated but still something that would be worth while? Don't know if you can say the Halo 3 remastered would be seen as a little thing after all.

The thing about Gamescom is that MS didn't show up last year . E3 is the most important show for Xbox, They always prioritize it over Gamescom. I can't see them debuting Halo 6 at an event that is lower priority to them.

Halo MCC update, Halo MCC on PC, and Halo Reach added to the MCC.

I don't want them to remaster Halo 3 like they did with 1 and 2. Halo 3 has a flawless aesthetic (aside from faces) and I don't want them to fuck with it at all. Just give us a flawless HD version of 3.

Didn't they say they weren't doing H2A as well? Just to throw the scent off? I may be remembering wrong.

People asked for that year after year for ages. If you ask for anything for long enough, you'll eventually be right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

343 doesn't have the talent naughty dog have.

I know that it'll probably be nothing substantial. But it gave me the thought that Microsoft's best bet now for new first party exclusives is to have 343, The Coalition and their other owned studios make new IP's.

I mean 343 has the budget and talent, maybe working on something that isn't Halo will alleviate some scrutiny that they've had.
