I decided to look it up and compare. I downloaded Waypoint's latest podcast and it is in 80 kbps mono. The latest Beastcast is in 64 kbps mono and I assume the Bombcast is the same as well.

The sample rate will have a negligible difference between 44.1 and 48 kHz at this bitrate. MP3 compression will cut everything above 14 kHz anyway meaning they could use a 32 kHz sample rate and it would make no difference in sound quality.

I appreciate them keeping the sizes low, because boy does it add up. Particularly if you listen to the old ones.
