The voice acting is optional so you don't have to use it if you don't want to. I'm not seeing a problem here
It's one of the major new features in this version.

Radiant Historia looks fine to me, not sure what the fuss is about. Is it just because one of the characters has longer hair?

I'd say low but after Mystery Dungeon 2 comes out it'd likely be the next announcement so we'll know within a year or so.What is the chance of still getting Untold 3 on the 3DS?
Or just play classic mode, which is included.Well, voice acting or not, the entire story stuff Atlus has been pushing with Untold (and now, apparently, EO5) is some hot trash. Original EO was great. It didn't lead you by the nose. You explored the dungeon because it was there. The small encounters along the way or in the town were sparse enough to be interesting. The focus was clearly gameplay. Now it seems like you need to disable this, ignore that and bla bla bla just to get something roughly approximating the original game.
Absolutely- grab EOIV while you're waitingAbsolutely in for Strange Journey and Radiant Historia.
I've only ever played Etrian 2. Maybe it's time to revisit the series?
I don't have played the game, but her original design was so cool (and short haired girls are not so common):

Physical and digital too. Great stuff, I was expecting uncertainty until at least Autumn.
I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance right now and don't know what to do anymore. On the hand I really want to buy SJR, but on the other hand I think the art is horrible and want Kaneko back...
Uhh, did Radiant Historia really sell more than Strange Journey in the west? That doesn't sound right. Pretty sure it didn't in Japan, but I might be wrong.
The lack of English VA is even weirder considering the main characters are actually American. Oh well, I guess I don't really care that much.

SMTIV sold like over a million copies worldwide, so I kind of doubt RH or EOV will match mainline SMT in sales, but that person can carry on living in fantasy cuckoo land all they like.
Similar here, which is strange because Strange Journey is one of my favorite games of all time.
I just feel like every change in this version is missing the point entirely. Not just the artwork.
Totally in on EOV though.
Can anyone outline the changes made to SJ? I'm currently in the middle of playing it on DS, and I'd love to continue doing so if the 3DS port doesn't seem definitively superior.
Now that's a good news.
Atlus hasn't revealed that much outside of what's immediately apparent via trailers, but we know this so far:
-Added demons not present in the original
-New character, Alex, who seems to come with a completely new scenario and ending tied to her
-The game has been remade in what seems to be the SMT4 engine, but retaining its first person view
-All story events are voiced (not in english though)
-Redone art, including portraits for non plot relevant NPCs
If anyone knows other details feel free to add them. I've read a couple of people saying they're adding save everywhere, but I haven't seen any official info about it.
+ Save anywhere
+ Difficulty options
+ What looks like event illustrations (although this could just be the OP used in screens/trailers)
+ New music
+ New skills
Save anywhere was talked about during the reveal stream and on the official website.
No but I hope it's optional... Please
Any reworks to the mechanics like the demon alignment system or how skill passed down?
3DS is just rocking when it comes to RPGs heh. Probably wouldn't go through with it, but I might check out Radiant Historia again, through I would like to be able to switch to the original art portraits.

Wait, what?!?
Are there screens or video of this?
This is merely speculation, but it doesn't look like the Etrian Odyssey IV engine, and the dungeons seem to have this particular lighting that's reminiscent of SMT4. Not to mention the UI is nearly identical in places.
My mobile browser is stupid and I can't get image URLs, but check out some examples in this gallery http://www.siliconera.com/2017/04/0...rney-shows-new-character-alex-new-demon-amon/

That option is available as DLC.
Is that the case for the oversea release? Think I recall that the original art was part of the limited edition for the JP release.
