The best after-presentation reveal was Smash Bros Brawl... I still remember waking up from my nap in the afternoon and almost having a heart attack at the news haha

EDIT: Ninjaskkk

I get it. It's about focus, they want to make sure people know what's coming out in 2017. And also, there's a lot of announcements and crazy stuff happening that you might lose focus of Nintendo. They do a lot of directs during the year. So I'm not worried.

~25 minutes.

Where is this from?

Edit: Thanks BY2K

-10 minutes of developers surrounded by soap bubbles talking about the design intricacies of the new Yoshi's Bubble Bath World
-5 minutes of Miyamoto reminiscing about how he came up with Pikmin 4 when he was slumbering on a bench in a park and a dog licked his face
-5 minutes on the history of the 3DS from 2011 to today
-to end, a 3 minute montage showcasing 50 games, 40 of which are indies already released on other platforms, none of which are new games
But wait, there's more
-an unfunny 2 minute skit with Bill Trinen and Reggie

"did you like it?"

If Nintendo can bust out at least 3 major announcements during the Spotlight I don't want to hear people complain about needing hour long press conferences ever again

I don't personally think they "need" hour long conferences to show off new games, but it's historically been one of the more enjoyable aspects of E3. The only times that Nintendo conferences have been a let down was not because they were conferences, but because the actual game showing was rubbish. This new format won't change that aspect. If Nintendo is saving heaps of money with their new format, then maybe I understand, but at the moment all I see is Nintendo being a disruptor for no reason.

I'm expecting to enjoy the Sony showing a helluvalot more than Nintendo's, and it's got little to do with which game's I want to play more.

They used 30 minutes as unit before so it was not accurate at all, but recently:

Oh ok....
PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111

I'm still looking forward to it. If it's the same format as the last Direct then I'm sure they can get at least one announcement in there. I know I sound like a broken record saying that lol but I do believe it.

Naw, They always have a November Direct. usually pretty good

I can't remember the last time one of those was actually good to be honest. I think it's easier to look at more recent history, and how the handled the Switch reveal and guess that they will doing something in January to cover a number of 2018 announcements.

It looks like Nintendo will be concise and then show further game play at the tree house live afterwards. They also tend to make announcements throughout e3 after their directs end.

It also helps they got a lot of announcements, games, and previous directs out of the way already

I'm also assuming we will have another direct either at the end of the year or the beginning of 2018.

Last regular one was good

No holy shit moment, but good. Well paced, lots of info

Oh no. I hate games which released on other plattforms. Don't ask me why, but its the only way I can sleep at night.

NeoGAF never seems to learn.

We've had bad 50 minute long directs and terrific 30 minute directs. The things you guys want to see and excited about? Are going to take them like a minute each, should they happen.

Didn't Nintendo reveal The Wonderful 101 after the E3 2012 Conference?

I still remember what a rollercoaster that games reveal to release was lol.

The great disappointment after e3 2012 in Nintendo. Seeing this strange looking game with GameCube looking graphics (initially) and dismissing it. Then heading it's made by platinum, not only Platinum but Kamiya! Subsequent showings and trailers were breath taking and the game is definitely one of my favourite video game experiences.

Also keep in mind in years past we have gotten directs in june a couple weeks after e3 and we have gotten directs in july and august before that all featured games that werent announced at E3

I'd rather they spend thirty seconds revealing teaser after teaser for upcoming titles than have them spend a long time on a handful of titles. Plus the Treehouse is there to flesh out all the games that were teased.

(It's just an exaggeration, I don't expect 30 second trailers unless it's an indie during an indie reel)

Nintendo revealed multiple titles in their past Treehouse transmissions, including Star Fox Wii U and Ever Oasis.

And I bet they will do exactly that this year for Mario & Luigi remake.

Shit, Nintendo does this regularly. They may not be mind blowing, but it is something they do.

Back in 2006, in the evening after Nintendo's official conference they revealed a small game by the name of Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Didn't Nintendo reveal The Wonderful 101 after the E3 2012 Conference?

Nintendo has done this multiple times. First that comes to mind is Codename STEAM.

The Arms/Splatoon Direct was much better than Digital Event E3 2015. Heck, pretty sure Spotlight E3 2017 will be also better than DE 2015.

The only port I wanna see happening from the Wii U, is Bayonetta 2.

I never got around to play it.. I'm pretty sure a lot of people wouldn't mind a port of the game to the Switch?

Nintendo's E3 presence this year seems very "understated" to me, which is baffling, considering how well Switch is doing. They certainly have gone out of their way to try and dismiss as much hype about their E3 presentation as possible. Perhaps they have another large event planned for the fall, and E3 is just not meant to be their largest event in 2017.

At this point, it seems like they put more effort into their January Presentation than they are into their E3 showing.

Maybe nobody is going to speak and it's gonna be a montage of awesome upcoming big third party games along with the first party stuff and then a unicorn comes down and hands everyone money and candy.

nah, terrible pacing and dwelling on irrelevant shit no one cares about like yarn plushies.

I actually liked some of that, maybe not appropriate for E3, but seeing the Splatoon devs at the aquarium and Miyamoto at a Japanese shrine for Star Fox was nice.

I think Nintendo will deliver an entertaining show with several surprises as long as you're not expecting the next big installment in each key franchise and a revival of F-Zero, Star Tropics, and whatever else. There will be 1 or 2 big surprises for sure.
