My point is I can't think of a game I WOULD like to have it on. I wouldn't say no to them adding it, but I've never felt it was something that was missing.

As someone who isnt much into mutiplayer it doesnt bother me much and i honestly cant imagine theres a big ps4 crowd waiting for this either.
BUT, if i sign, it either stays the same or something changes for the better. So ill sign.

Did they remove PS4 + PC cross play from Rocket League? Looking at a video, it did seem limited. Codes and stuff. From what I remember PS4 + PC had the cross play early in that game.
Namco should just pick a side for PC to play with. PC + Xbox One, or PC + PS4. Just get it over with and not have all 3 split. The pc needs as many players as it can get. Thank goodness SFV on PC has PS4 people. Those are the majority of my fights.

And if it was Microsoft or Nintendo I would still advocate for the same thing like I did when it was supposedly Microsoft who held back cross play.
I know that it wouldn't advantage Sony to allow cross play but as a consumer I just don't care. I care about what benefits me and cross play does that. Rationalizing the decision isn't worthwhile because most people on this forum underdtand why. It just feels like trying to "reduce the outrage" and deflect the blame.
I actually just didn't want to leave the post hanging before I went to bed.. No ill-will towards you, sorry if it seemed like I was singling you out.

The situation now is that PC players can either play with only PS4 players, or play with only Xbone and Switch players.

That seems like a good solution then. Especially for PC players
But then you have situations where PS4 players are gonna be all alone when Switch/ Xbone/PC/Mobile players all play with each with infinite worlds on Minecraft.
That being said, going forward I don't see devs segregating the PC base to appease Sony and will just leave the cross play with Switch and/or Xbone with the PS4 being left out completely.

You all getting conned by Microsoft is astonishing. Microsoft knew Sony doesnt want to work with them, they announced the Minecraft crossplay because their installed base is way smaller than Sony. Stop pretending for one second that you are actively doing what Microsoft wants you to do. They are a buisness and they caught on how the internet is all about witch hunts. They hoped this would happen, make Sony look like the bad guy when in reality, they are desperte for more players and you all are suckers. Unite the players? I think the industry is heading towards crossplay one way or the other. Devs want it and consumers want it. If Sony actually does give in now then it will be a foot in the door for consumers. So I will gladly take whatever shot I have to make the future I want for gaming a reality.

In theory this would be great for all. It would keep online multiplayer communities last longer and benefit those who can't afford to play every game day 1.
In practice however, why would Sony have their hard work on PS4 used to help their competition (Microsoft were the same in the last gen)? That is a valid business reason. Jim Ryan has a habit of poor communicating so i cant understand why he is allowed do interviews. Sony dont view PC as direct competition so crossplay appears fine, going online on a PS4 and logging into Xbox to play online crossplay is a bridge too far. Maybe if they had Xbox owners log onto PSN they may think different, I don't know.

PS4 players will live. Just focus on PC, xbox, and switch for now I'd say. Sony will probably continue to allow PS4 + PC cross play as they have been doing for a while. PC can handle the option to pick which side it wants if the game isn't just on PS4 and PC as proven by Rocket. This will help Switch, xbox, and PC online match making.

Look, last gen I only had a 360, and believe me I bitched when MS didn't want crossplay because their bullshit reasons. This gen I only have a PS4 and I do the same that I did years ago, because I don't care about corporations, it doesn't matter if it's Sony, MS or Nintendo, I just want the best value as a customer.
Easy solution, devs just need to put an option to play only against your console/all consoles/consoles and PC options in matchmaking.

This does fit in the current narrative to a point, MS did the same thing last gen. While I i'm not particularly against crossplay, I don't care about it enough to not understand Sony's reasons as a business for refusing, especially when Microsoft did the same thing to them last gen.

I'd like to ask the OP whether or not they even own a PS4, because it's not clear from the GAF profile. Trying to impose your will on 60 million PS4 owners is rather bold if you're not even part of the PlayStation family.
