[KH2 spoils] rock impacts important part of body used to cover hole in neck

I think the main point of the person you're responding to is that nothing to you is not nothing to everyone. While NeoGAF doesn't seem to obligate any action in this particular case a little bit of consideration would be a generally nice thing to do with no down sides that I'm aware of.

Practically a large part of the backlash against "OMG SPOILER!!!" people in this thread is due to the fact that the whole spoiler culture in the past couple of years or so have become so ridiculous, you're practically walking on eggshells on what should or should not be marked as spoiler. I would think that's a legitimate downside to any general discussion of pop culture and media.

Lmao. OG thread title (for records' sake):

Is Goofy's death in KHII the story beat GOAT

Iirc. Spoilertagged for safety anyway

Putting the original title in spoiler tags has finally done it. Thanks for the ride everyone but alas I have died.

Thread renames are off the hook. We don't even need an OT2. They're changing by the minute.

Laughs were had.

Mistakes were made.

Has anyone checked it thread titles tell a coherent story yet? By the amount of them, it's a serious possibility.. *sniffs* im so happy to have witnessed this.

I guess I should specify in this particular case (not putting story details in thread titles) there are no down sides. It takes a minimum amount of effort and has a pretty beneficial effect. I understand not everyone will feel this way, but people who want to discuss spoilers are free to do so and people who want to avoid spoilers are able to make more informed decisions.

I agree with your general premise though, and think there definitely has to be give to the take. Outrage can often be ridiculous, and there's only so much you can ask of an entire group of people with different ideas of what is and is not appropriate. I've seen it a lot, even on this forum. I just think there exists a happy middle ground, and that keeping thread titles a bit more vague can be a reasonable way to work towards it.

Cant believe people are upset about spoilers for a game this old.
Age isn't a sensical metric; cultural relevance (ie "I am you father") and common sense/courtesy is what dictates what should be spoiler-tagged or not

Ideally, one should always play it safe. How you feel about spoilers, if you care about them or not, if you feel people are to sensitive or not, doesn't really matter, because it isn't about you. You're basically deciding for others how they should experience something when you decide to not to spoiler-tag stuff

I think if you just said something like fake death or death fakeout people wouldn't care so much, but to see for anything 'is the death of BLANK in THING one of the best moments in gaming?', in a title?

How could you not expect backlash?

Oh, come on. Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 were rereleased three months ago. How many people are experiencing this game for the first time? Me, for example.

I don't really mind the spoiler in this case, but is it that hard to not spoil it for someone who does care?

Are you articulating forum policy or sharing what is in your own heart tho.

Y'all mods sending conflicting messages.

(KH2 spoiler) accident between a character and a rock, we are worried about the rock

I'm more worried about neogaf being worried about the rock

This is bloody amazing. Who comes up with these things?

I actually completely forgot about that scene and I played KH2 years ago.

Now that I actually think about it, I've forgotten about 90% of what happened in KH. The story was such a garbled mess that I have a better memory for some dreams I had at the time.

12 years old = no spoilers.

Accept the only Truth, guys.

Ps4 Remake 3 months ago? I'm sure it attracted some new players (e.g. those who had xbox360).

OP was an ass to those players. Based on the OP replies, (s)he knew what (s)he was doing.

Not the worst spoiler, and yeah at least the remake was released 3 months ago instead of 3 days. But OP was also pretty unrepentant.

I very much enjoy "unspoiled experiences" and am easily disappointed if I get spoiled on gameplay or story beats.
I have played KH1 and CoM, and KH2 is in my backlog.

This whole thread is fantastic and hilarious. After all the thread title edits settle down, the original title should be restored.

If someone does, they really need to get over themselves.
