Quick and dirty comparison

GT Sport

Forza 6

Project Cars

Assetto Corsa

IMO Assetto Corsa is the only one that doesn't look that hot tree-wise, they all look good enough though.

P.S: Project Cars and Assetto Corsa pics are both 4K resized to 1080p, PC max settings. Forza 6 is Xbox One version, all gameplay screenshots no photomode(assuming the GT Sport pic is a gameplay shot with no HUD?).

honestly non of those trees are making my jaw drop. but i do like the look of GTS the most of of all 4 in general. forza comes close though. assetto corsa is least impressive and i just don't like what's going on with the road texture in project cars. looks like it's had about 12 sharpening passes done to it in photoshop or something.

For my eyes, not based on comparing with real life, but just my impression of what 'the green hell' means, I'd rate them

Forza/PCars->GTS->AC

But I sense this is cherry picked photo's, there are parts on each track that all would look different.

But if this tells us what the minimum is to expect, I'm happy with all of them.

No shit. Someone else originally posted the GT Sport pic, so I took the others to compare that one specific spot...

The 1st landing looks like the car is magnetically pulled to the ground as soon as back wheels touch it. The 2nd is perfect, though.

The angle on the first jump makes it look odd, but the second bounce looks fine. The wheels are aligned with the momentum, so it "snaps" into place faster than you might expect, but that looks right.

Do cars in GT:S even use tessellation while in races? I never checked, but I doubt it.

They probably do but "capped" in some sense. It'd be a waste of performance to have it run at max detail outside of a showroom viewing context, but then again PD don't seem to care too much about performance :p

Here's a better one:

You posted a gameplay/pre-race close-up of Forza 7, Admiester posted the best GT Sport replay close-up he could get which shows both games use lower-poly models in gameplay. You posting a non-gameplay shot then posting a dumb gif doesn't wipe out the existence of the in-game lower-poly model in GT Sport ...

Yes, that has a lot more detail but that is in a menu scene where the highest detail is shown, you posted what seemed to be a gameplay shot so I posted the closest I could find.

Come on m8, just accept that Forza 7 isn't perfect like GT Sport. I mean just look at this 4K pic of Forza 7. It looks last-gen.

Seems pretty consistent with, if not more detailed than, the competition to me:

(Best pic I could get with the heavy blur, sorry)

Tesselation was disabled in the first Porsche gameplay video that image is captured from , like v1.0 of the beta. It's been fixed in the second Porsche gameplay video and beta updates though.

Well that looks miles better. Is there any difference in LOD between the gameplay and "Scapes" model?

I'll need the final game for more up close comparisons of the same cars. There isn't much difference from what I've seen so far though.

You're right, GTS seems to have way more polies:

Is it sad that the main reason I knew it wasn't Forza 7 was because Turn 10 seem to have all but forgotten that the 997 Porsches existed? I noticed that before the visuals :p

Are you telling me the giant Forza 7 title on it couldn't make someone think it is Forza 7? And of course the IGN logo at the bottom which i'm almost certain is from an IGN video.

So you're telling me that you can't look beyond the logo and notice the seats that have 3 polygons each, the blurry textures, and 2006-grade lighting?

How far does it go then, does this confuse people too?

No i'm telling you some people will just see a logo and jump to conclusions same way people read thread titles and jump to conclusions. It is not outlandish, heck it is obvious that he saw Forza 7 and assumed it was a real screenshot from Forza 7. And your Halo example is stupid af, who would mistake a shooter for a racer?

Who would mistake a 2007 racer for a 2017 racer?

Why a comparison to Forza 6? Should we not be comparing the two unreleased titles?

I mean they are both showing off the track Brands Hatch as well as showing how they do their respective replay camera work. If you find F7 footage of Brands Hatch then do show.

Here's some AC and PC to the mix;

Here's some decent that I had not seen before today, The weather and lightning look great

I guess you didnt watch the Forza e3 footage

Sure, but then I'll watch Gran Turismo Sport in a 4k, HDR TV and you're wrong again.
4K? Sorry for asking but I do not understand. It was not QHD +.

I play the beta of GTS on a 4K TV and although it looks clean and slick, it also looks flat and sterile. At least for me. It is not a game that impresses me visually, although in other things. Replay looks great, driving feels good and the physics of the wheels are very real.
