Yeah I was able to find the user on my recently played. You can't report them from the Switch, but you can "Block" them which claims you won't get matched with them in games,
but we'll see.

The mini-splatling sucks so fucking much. I try to rescue two people down and I die instead because this weapon can't do shit.

Yeah the weapons are garbage this time. Two charge weapons and you can just forget about it for most teams.

Cool I'm about to derank because all my teammates are fucking morons who continuously get themselves killed and never rescue anybody.

So is the regular dual squelcher in this game, or are the dualie squelchers all we get this time? I find those guns super inaccurate at long range, to the point where it almost negates the range advantage altogether... Go to the target range and practice on the moving squids; compared to the splattershot pro or regular squelcher, the dualies are totally unreliable at a distance. They won't register hits even when the cursor is right on with the "X" showing. It really sucks because the game doesn't seem to have a good long range option that's also good for inking turf, which is exactly what the dual squelcher in the first game was.

You're expected to be constantly dodge rolling for the accuracy boost with the dualie type weapons.

The Switch really needs a way to report users beyond Inkopolis messages, since the symbol names are probably gonna be a significant problem at some point.

Yeah, I'm one of these people. Give me a Splat Charger during a Salmon Rush and you can kiss your rank goodbye.

Also, can't wait until they nerf the Tri-Slosher so I can use it without feeling bad. It was my go-to weapon in Splatoon 1, but it really is too much in this game, that range on it is a joke.

So frustrating when you put up over 1500p and you still lose big because your team is terrible. Ugh.

This happens all too often. My win percentage is crap right now because I keep getting matching with awful teams. I shouldn't be able to outscore my entire team.

As a duelie user I hate the Octobrush, it has too much range and I can't even dodge around because of the wide spread. It doesn't even require any aiming.

Finally getting into ranked battles after getting sick of turf war. I've forgotten how much fun rainmaker was. But sick of my team not clearing the way when I get it.

Fuck these stinger shooting enemies in Salmon run

You have such limited oppurtunity to kill it and it just decimates the area you are in

I got thrown into a solo Salmon Run somehow. Given the charger. I failed the first round and got hit by a massive paycut because I didn't pick up any eggs.

That's just harsh.

im fantastic with all four weapons in salmon run again today but i keep getting crippling paygrade drops and awful wave 1 losses because i get paired with three idiots

Grillers aren't even that hard by themselves. It's the damn Smallfry that rush you down and force you to re-position. Especially with a charger.

God damn dude. Couldn't help but chuckle since that's a sick joke.

God dammit Matchmaking.

Playing rainmaker and it's like every single f*cking weapon is so OP EXCEPT for the stupid tentakek splattershot that I use. It's the only gun that doesn't kill people immediately.

Shit, that's how to end a night. Nice tense and even game. Right at the end I pushed to their side, got a double kill, popped my super and covered a good chunk of their side and the middle, and winning the game 45.5 to 44.1. The middle was absolutely covered in their color until I got that super and brought it back at the buzzer.

Man, people just DO NOT feel like killing flyfish, do they

They take 2 bombs and a miss does jackshit.

If there's a ton of them you're better off burning a stingray.

Stop using aerospray. They're a selfish weapon that are awful at defense.

I've seen users with that kind of score on the other side of the fence, and trust me, you're not really that much better than your teammates than you think you are.

Do people forget they have power ups in Salmon Run? They never seem to use when we get in a bind and it frustrates me when we lose because of that!!!!!

If you're always getting matched with bad players, it means YOU'RE the bad player, you jerks! 😑

I'm honestly afraid of this. But, I am seriously the top player a good number of games. So, I'm constantly wondering if I'm just not being a good team player some how. I never played the first game, so I feel like everyone should be better than me 'cause I just assume you've all been playing this for a couple of years.

Gonna need more details here, as that's what I'm using also. In what way is it lacking defense, and what do you mean by a selfish weapon?

Im not sure what Im supposed to be seeing. Is it the kills differences?

Take a look at the weapon selections.

Honestly burn this current meta to the ground. I think I'm done using any rollers at all until their hitbox is addressed with some sort of patch down the road. Carbon and Flingza now are both on the list of weapons I'd really like to use, but doing so is pointless when you can get out-TTK'd by the likes of an Aerospray or even the Inkbrush thanks to close-range flicks just not being reliable at all. This is especially deadly for the Flinga that needs to be pretty damn close to have a chance at killing, but suddenly lacks any sort of close-quarters recourse should your flick connect but not deal fatal damage. You're suddenly too slow to do anything else but die. Guess I really should stick more to what I know so far.

Need some advice, SplatGaf

Been playing league matches with my friend and it is by far the most fun I've had with this game (or Splatoon 1). I'll be upfront about the fact that I'm using the Tri Slosher with (predictably) really good results. I'm usually #1 in kills, but I know it has 99% to due with me having an overpowered weapon. Here's where I need help. I suck at online shooter games and don't have the twitch skills necessary to aim and move and react against great players fighting one on one. What is another weapon that I can practice and get decent at that relies more on positioning and patience and can help the team through other means besides duking it out one on one with people? Is there such a thing?

I'm not expecting to get into really high ranks or anything with it. I just want to continue to help the team and do alright with my friend, but I don't want to rely on the Tri Slosher.

edit: If it helps, I usually try to assist whoever has the tower or rainmaker rather than get it myself. I use ninja squid and try to position myself to defend at certain points in the map as our tower/rainmaker moves forward. Maybe there is a gun that fits that role?

Anyone else feeling a little Sequel Fatigue with Nintendo's "games as a service" model for this game?

I don't know, it's hard to say because I still really love this game. But we did technically go from having more maps and weapons to less. To be fair, the first game definitely had way less at launch. And this game has definitely been a progression of how much they gave us upfront.

But it's just weird going from a game that offered 3 different Splattershot Pro kits to now only having the one. I know they're still working on stuff and there's only so much they can do labor-wise (without delaying the game til September). It's just not as fun sitting through the trickle-out this time around.

(Maybe I just played too much the last couple weeks.)

You are probably playing too much :p

But seriously take a break if you feel the fatigue. Quite honestly even without the updates I'm still overwhelmed by the default weapon sets in this game and I still haven't tried out like 50% of the current weapon sets. This gives me some chance at trying out different weapon types and get good at them before the next weapon updates are rolling out.

Frankly right now the only real fatigue I'm feeling with the game is that the quicker rotation actually feels like it's burning me out on the current map selection a little sooner than I've felt before, and it's a bit of a bummer that most of the weapon sets that we're waiting on to be released in the near future are primarily main weapons that we already played in Splatoon 1. I wouldn't have minded if some original weapons were cut in favor of stuff that at least looked or felt a little newer. Or if a lot of what we get is returning weapons or more brand-variants of current stuff, unlock two per week and not just one. Give us an earlier chance to find out what really works for us or not
and give people something they want to use beyond the aerospray, dualies, splattershot and octobrush ffs.

stand back, shoot, and be on guard of opponents that approach. don't have to worry too much about aiming

Splattershot in general is one of the best weapons in the game, extending to Splatoon 1. Decent range, very good killing power, good fire rate, pretty good ink usage, and its kits are pretty good. Tentatek Splattershot is my go-to weapon in ranked, along with .52 Gal.
