Well, I preordered one - the bag looks decent, the rest? Eh...

Doesn't compare to the original Ghost Edition.

The Destiny 2 CE has been inboxed, originally via Mighty ape Games.

Thoughts?

Also, I couldn't figure out why this has been the next wraps when the Ghost Edition literally had a promo video to announce it. I have been waiting for this unbox since April, not sure how I feel.


Edit: that was the YouTube video I could find originally, this thing has been under wraps and hard to find for an unbox

I dont really care at all for the collectors edition this time around. Dinklebot was awesome, messenger bag not so much.

I canceled mine a few days ago went with the GameStop LE instead. This isn't making me regret it. If I can get the PC CE with GCU... maybe... maybe.

80% of CEs just have some crappy plastic statue in them.

At least they attempted something different with this one.

Ah, yeah, that's fair. For me, it's mostly that I just think the bag is really ugly and that's basically the star of the CE. I agree with you, though, that I'd like to see more CEs that aren't just figures.

Back when I pre-ordered, I felt unsure about it seeing the pictures, but I figured I'd wait to see an unboxing video before deciding what to do with it.

Holy shit, that's a LOT of shit no one will use for anything ever. A solar blanket and a piece of rope plus tiny pictures and random pieces of printed bullshit and metal coin trinkets you can't even put on things. Literally the only thing you can actually do something with is the bag, but they just _had_ to put random other shit in there, instead of a nice artbook or something.

Yeah that's definitively not a CE for me lol.

Like 99% of most CEs. Except this is one of the very rare CEs that actually does have something that can be used, so that's a strange complaint.

Either way, the point of these is generally not to give you something "useful." It's for die hard fans of a game that want collectibles to put somewhere in their house. Nothing less, nothing more.

I'll never understand the "but you'll never use it!" complaint.

I love Destiny and all but there is no way in hell I was gonna pay for this CE lmao.

The satchel thing looks like one of those material sampler booklets that they show you at furniture stores when you're picking out a sofa.

Dude gets broke a lot because he's an irresponsible man child. I love him, but I hate that I gotta keep covering for him when he blows money on something overpriced and useless. Any time I don't cover for him my Mom just whines that I'm horrible because he's family and I don't want to spot him cash.

This video actually kind of sold me on it lol. Well obviously I'm not going to be able to get one now and even if I could, I wouldn't buy it if it was the current MSRP. The box itself looks cool.

Also, I wonder if Deej broke into Chuck McGill's house before it burned down to acquire all these space blankets.

First of all, when did I say all (or even lots of) other CE's had useful stuff? To be clear, I don't like pretty much most other CEs these days, this one isn't different.

Even then, putting good-looking, but still silly statues on a shelf does count as "doing something with it", reading and enjoying artbooks, too, and so does listening to a good soundtrack.
What can you actually do with a few tiny pictures and one-inch-metal pieces, and when will you ever use a shrink-wrapped piece of rope?

I remember cheap hats and fucking stupid night vision sets, but also actual books, useable clothing, board or card games, somewhat fun toys, USB sticks, console skins, nice looking keychains, game boxes/steelbooks, great framed pictures, useable maps and background material, dice sets, fucking graphic cards, Vinyls I think, headphones, spaceship replicas, watches, mini coolers...

There's a LOT of cool shit you can put into your CE, this bag actually is one of them, even if the looks aren't for everyone including me. But everything else in there is stuff that you would be given at conventions to throw right into the next garbage bin.

I really wish these videos would be honest about the quality of these things and not just ham it up so they keep getting sent early items.

Here's hoping another video comes out, since I'm on the fence now.

I'm just now getting into D1 (yeah, a little late) and unlike when the game released, it's actually grabbed me this time...so for about a split second I toyed with buying the D2 CE. This unboxing helped me dodge a bullet.

I mean, to be fair, 90%+ of the contents of 100% of CEs are trash. But... Yeah...I agree with u... There are at least a few here n there which include decent quality statues, art books, helmets, remote control vehicles, steel books, maps, etc.... The D2 CE looks like a bunch of totally worthless bullshit trinkets that'll end up in the garbage sooner or later. It's like they went out of their way to try to set the record for worst collectors edition ever.

I still use the lockbox from the GTA IV special edition. But yeah, that bag is an eyesore. I suppose companies will keep pumping out these low quality items as long as there's an audience though.

Even the CE statues are usually not made that well or have shitty paint jobs. I think CEs are kind of a rip off majority of the time.

Yeah, a good statue is definitely the best case scenario for a CE. I thought the Ni No Kuni 2 one looks quite nice.

I told myself I wouldn't get another CE that featured just a statue after the shit job they did on the last guardian.

For some reason I really want this bag though.

Generally speaking, the more detailed the statue looks, the worse it will end up being. You're just not going to get super detailed work for the price and quantity a CE needs, so the ones that are a bit less intricate fare better.
