Only one man can unite this country in its time of need, and that man is C.S. Lewis Jr.

There were only a small handful of guys even taking a knee this season before this stupid fuck called them all out and poured gas onto the fire. Honestly they should continue to protest him and we as citizens should start marching on D.C. as well. Fuck this asshole.

The sad part is every critic is ignoring WHY these players are doing it and have twisted it in some Orwellian thing that the player are hating America/the flag/veterans..

It's the same as when they tried to make Obama look like he hated america. Even Hillary Clinton freaking did it in 2008.

At best it's about "reverse racism", at worst it's about "white genocide", but either way it's a very common part of racism today.

If you, in your absolute core, believe that minorities dont face any race related issues then you have to do some mental gymnastics when they complain about those issues.

*Offended by the way people react to the flag*

*Poses for a picture wearing a t-shirt that shows a corporate logo aping the flag for a cheap "Patriot buck"*

Isn't there like a book of flag rules that explicitly says "don't wear the flag?"

EDIT: Glad to see I'm not alone on this page lol
Not in the US. They sell underwear wrapped in the American flag over there like nobody's business.

I can't talk for other countries but at least in Mexico I know that's not permitted. I vividly remember Julio Cezar Chavez (the boxer legend from the 90s) got in trouble when he wore for a fight a pair of shorts wrapped in the Mexican flag (thinks Rocky's shorts in Rocky IV). You can wear a patch of the flag in your shorts but not simulate the whole flag as your piece of clothing.

Back on topic, fuck Trump's divisive rhetoric!

It's technically against code, but no one has to follow or care about it unless you're like in the military.

I can't handle this shit, people at work are taking down there NFL stuff over this.

OMG its snowing hard in my office. Apparently these same people that want to fight BLM officers and don't tread on me. Want people to be complete fucking drones when the anthem starts to play.

Unfortunately, some of the very people I used to look up to are posting some ignorant things on FB about the kneeling and boy does he have some "patriotic" cunts commenting on it, going as far as to say the protesters are racists. How they twist it around is always outstanding.

All of these fake "patriots" on social media voted for a fucking president who talked shit about POW's. What did he say about McCain? 'Not a true war hero because he got captured'?

That's been my defense to shut these idiots up.

I'm seeing a ton of deflection myself, lots of blaming the media for creating a false narrative, but none of the anti-kneel folks actually acknowledging or even talking about what they are protesting.

Many seem to have bought into the right wing deflection hook line and sinker.

Lost amidst all this is the fact that my Jets actually won a game yesterday, guaranteeing they'll have more wins than Trump will ever have in office.

Trump is distracting. He just put in place a much worse and harder to fight in court travel ban. He lost on Health Care Reform again. He is losing on Tax Reform probably. And he is threatening Nuclear War with North Korea which nobody wants. And yet he is whipping everyone in the country up about NFL and the Flag and Racism.

This issue is flipping conservatives out so much they might start putting their yellow ribbon magnets back on their cars. That's how mad they are.

The cognitive ability of the foaming at the mouth regressives who are calling in to the local AM sports talk show this morning isn't far removed from that of a sea cucumber.

This is crazy...

Responding to a tip from one of his "boys," Smith brought up the fact that until 2009—eight years and a new Presidential administration after 9/11—players weren't on the field for the national anthem and instead generally remained in the locker room. According to Smith's boy (and the researcher at ESPN who checked it), the switch happened "because it was seen as a marketing strategy to make the athletes look more patriotic."

Nobody noticed this fact? It gets worse...

Add in the fact that the NFL received millions of taxpayer dollars from the Department of Defense and the National Guard for patriotic displays, and it puts the entire Kaepernick hullabaloo in a different light.

DoD paid for players to stand at the anthems as a damn marketing strategy. To recruit...

Yo, its totally cool. I hear on Facebook from totally tolerant patriots that it only counts if its from an ACTUAL flag, not things that resemble the flag

Clearly all of the protesters hate America.

If these people want to counter protest by boycotting the NFL, then by all means. They won't though - the simplistic us versus them in sports fans overlaps a lot with this crowd.

Well I went on Facebook for the first time in a month. Probably a bad idea. Only effort I made was to shut my brother up or at least make him see the other side and he was open to other opinions which was good. Who wasn't though was a black friend of mine. "I don't want anyone speaking for me." and "if you can't make it in this country then maybe you should do a self evaluation as to why"
Fuck! Told him he has the absolute worst person speaking for him in office.

I still think people give Trump too much credit when it comes to trying to distract from something else. This to me seems to have little to do with wanting to distract and more to do with how the presidency doesn't work the way he thought it did. Remember when China refused to roll out the carpet for Obama and Trump said he'd never let foreign countries disrespect him the same way? Well, we've seen foreign leaders straight up laugh at Trump and mock him. He's tried to threaten NK, and their leader has laughed and mocked him. Even getting people in America to call Trump a "dotard". You then have Steph Curry making it clear that he won't go to the WH, which prompted Trump to issue a statement saying that he's taking away their invite. Then you have LeBron, a player that he's praised multiple times on Twitter, calling him a bum. Which seemingly has him shook so much that he won't even respond. Trump at a rally calls on NFL owners, several of whom donated at least 1m to his campaign, to do something about players that don't stand. Instead they stand by their players, and some of them even went as far as to come out and lock arms with them.

The bully tactics that he's so accustomed to using doesn't work as president. And it's frustrating him. He's supposed to be the most powerful leader in the world, and yet people don't respect him. It's grinding his ego, and that's really what this is about. He got up in front of his supporters throughout the campaign and told them that he'd do this and he'd do that and that people would listen because he gets things done. He's the alpha male! And yet none of that is happening. People aren't listening and he really isn't getting much at all done.

FB is a complete minefield of shit right now, people are coming out of the woodwork to scream their viewpoint. Won't end well.
