Most of those quotes are from half a decade ago, let it go man.
Too late. It's safe to say this is shaping up to be SSB vs Playstation All Stars Thread Part 2.
Most of those quotes are from half a decade ago, let it go man.
Ugh, can we please stop using the "butthurt".
Times like these I can be glad PC gaming has no real PR.
It is only overpriced if people didn't buy it. Seems people thought it was a fair price hence the crazy sales it got over its lifetime.
What does the last line have to do with anything? I never demanded that people be banned. "herp derp"?Herp derp, I saw the post before you clumsily added the last line. Hold the bullshit.
What does the last line have to do with anything? I never demanded that people be banned. "herp derp"?
What about me? Go on, elaborate.
Oh the horror, I like a company!, it's products, and services...
Son, your own hood doesn't have your back.
Steam will be the only face of PC gaming if some here have there wish, and then the PR-bombs will drop...
First of all, every company says dumb things at some point when they taste greatness. Nintendo, Microsoft, and countless others are guilty of this.
Secondly, over half those quotes are coming out of respect of the overwhelming success of the PS2. You cannot fault a company for trying to keep momentum alive whilst trying to create hype for a product through PR/top brass. Who knows how many of the quotes were taken out of context.
U salty?
What about me? Go on, elaborate.
I don't consider adding a line that has absolutely no bearing on the context of the post to be a 'stealth edit', are you even a serious poster?First you claim there was no stealth edit, now you try to walk back the entire post after admitting that there was a stealth edit.
At the end of the day, gaming was undeniably better when Sony were the kings.
Oh the horror, I like a company!, it's products, and services...
Quick GAF go through my post history and have a laugh
Haha.
I think the best part about the thread has been the people who reach so hard to try and peg people as 'butthurt' or 'salty'.
does anyone have the thread where some guy tried to prove that god must exist because of a gran turismo sunset or some shit? i've been looking forever for that thread.
I don't consider adding a line that has absolutely no bearing on the context of the post
I'm pretty sure that he's implying that you're a Sony fanboy based on your post history. He's lumping you in with other posters known for that behavior, so by association I would assume he's making the same implication.
Hope This Helps
You cannot be serious.
You know what, I don't even care. Carry on.
There's the post, sans edit. You quoted it. Did I demand that people be banned? How cute.I suspect this might be one of those threads that turn into a graveyard.
The thread itself was a planned troll.
This thread is something else. Alot of people making it easy on the Mods for the Pre E3 2013 purge list
I do too! But when they say embarrassingly stupid stuff, I'm gonna laugh.
You're being weirdHaha, what the fuck is this?
Bitter much?
How long have you been holding this in? The MGS4 thread has nothing to do with this. The Metal Gear threads are popular because they have a lot of fans from all console backgrounds. And the MGS4 thread deserves the amount of posts it gets because it is an awesome fucking game.

I don't post often, or at all really. And this will most likely get buried beneath all the other more worthwhile posts.
I just wanted to state my opinion that this could very well be an interesting conversation topic if people actually talked about it. The way arrogance in the higher ups of a gaming company can translate down, lead to poor sales, rushed products, and inconsistent marketing. And how the shape of the future of the company can be seen as brighter since, as has been started numerous times, many of these people no longer work for the company. I don't know much about all of the individual people that work or have worked for Sony, but can any correlations be drawn from when arrogance came, when it left, and how the sales/marketing of the companies products affected the consumers?
I guess we'll just agree to disagree on how to read then.Yes, which I found to be adorable.

It's easy to lump people together for strawman arguments, haha. I never defended Sony for their mistakes. 600 launch, stupid PR, YLOD, BRD failure, online passes, you name it.
Also, I don't go to Microsoft and Nintendo threads to shit on their fans like some people are doing here.

"A bit pricey." (Michael Ephraim, Managing Director of SCEA, on the launch price of the Wii)
Nintendo is a great company as far as games development goes, they have been around for
a long time, they know how to deliver an entertaining product. My only question for this Christmas on Wii is the price point. Even though it's affordable, at $400 plus whatever you need to buy accessories-wise, I'm guessing you need to spend about $500 to take home a Wii and enjoy it. I can't judge the product because I haven't played it but I've heard good things about it. For this Christmas, I think that price point is still not family entertainment because $500 is a lot to fork out, but we welcome the Nintendo heritage of gaming where they can appeal to a broader audience because long-term that is critical for the industry. What we've done on PlayStation 2 with social gaming has broadened the audience and we're glad that they are attempting to do similar things to open up the market to families and never-before gamers. Time will tell. For this Christmas I think the price for what it specifically does as a video games machine is a bit pricey, but I think that their strategy long term we have great respect for.
I say we let him go!
i remember on the gamespot forums there was this massive thread of all the sony quotes called "sony's failure timeline" or something like that. i think dreams-visions posted in there and had like 50 wrestling .gifs in his sig.
this thread reminds me of that thread.
Forever hard at work, as I see.
When do you eat/sleep?

He could probably get by on your tears alone.
I don't think these comments affected the customer or the sales in any meaningful way. People on message boards represent a fraction of the potential customers and even on GAF most people just don't care what higher ups have to say.I don't post often, or at all really. And this will most likely get buried beneath all the other more worthwhile posts.

By far the funniest post in this Thread. Why actually talk about it though when people can just post the joker saying here we go.
He could probably get by on your tears alone.
Hey, just like this:
Original context:
http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/10/sony-australia-wii-a-bit-pricey/
which leads to the interview where he says the following:
SUCH AN ARROGANT DUDE.
That would require insider interviews or info or other data. Obviously you'll likely only get speculation in a thread like this. However, I don't believe their PR attitude has had an adverse affect on the actual products and Sony seems to do very little with marketing, so at least it's not hugely detrimental even when it is snide. Consumers at best know about Sony's screw up with PSN, and that's about it. Otherwise, they're known as a pricey electronics company.
It's still a horribly dumb quotes considering he's tries to paint the Wii as a 500 dollar system. He shouldn't have even been talking price with how expensive the PS3 was.
