Just acquired the Superstar job.

Wait, what?! She's alive?! You mean we didn't kill her?! Im-impossible!

Its such a useful job in comparison to the time mage for example lol. Just managed to get the chemist also. Have not used it yet. Busy leveling up jobs to rank 10. Currently am lv 52. You get a pretty good bonus at times if you are in the god rank and finish off the bosses in the first round with no damage lol. Too bad they dont give cash rewards too for some reason.

Cash reward is when you defeat all the enemies in one shot. Only works with groups of enemies (not solo).

from what I can tell, 4wol is to FFI as this is to FFV

FF1 didnt have a job system. That and how they did the leveling of said jobs was different too.

BD:FF is far more traditional for the most part anyways with some changes tossed in.

No Im talking about you get ZERO cash. As in none. If you have been playing the game you would know that. Its one of the odd design choices with the bosses. The exp and JP is nice but why the hell dont they give cash also.

It technically does.
I take 4wol as a sort of modernization of the elements of FFI. Story and progresion wise mostly. I think there's enough similarities to bring forth a comparison, without of course going overboard and making intrinsically co-dependent.

Of course I'm not qualified to talk about BD, but I don't think making a few comparisons, even on a superficial level, is too farfetched.

Ah yeah, I noticed that. I just took it as, why would a monster hiding in a crystal have money?

I mean, why would any monster have money, but I guess especially why would a monster trapped in a crystal have money.

No you pick classes at the start of the game then you are stuck with them. After going through a good portion of the game there is a quest that upgrades said class choices.
You are not able to change classes on the fly during your adventure.

Finally managed to get the
ninja, pirate, swordmaster and chemist
. Fighting the
ninja had to be the largest pain in the ass out of them all unless you have everyone charged up with supers. She does more counters than the swordmaster whos class is supposed to be based around counters.
now am just working on levleling the new jobs all over again

A lot of the bosses you fight are
humanoid when it comes to the sub quests
and they dont drop cash either. Which makes no sense from the design considering all normal enemies do drop money.

yes I have played Final Fantasy I. There's jobs, and you can choose which jobs you want. That's a job system, even if it's completely limited in comparison to its other incarnations.

Either way, that's not at all why I'm bringing forth the FFI/4WOL comparison, so it doesn't matter anyways.

Class spoiler question:

Where did you get the Pirate Class? I'm at the end of Chapter 4 and I somehow missed that one.

I ran into the event after I went to the grandship, found out the master of the inn in the first town "fell ill" and on the way there with my ship (headed straight north from the grandship) an event scene takes place where a fog rolls in and you see a ship approaching. You then have the option to leave it alone or board it. Board the ship and talk to the barbarosa or whatever his name was to start the event / battle

Found it! Thanks!

Although I may have been a little over leveled, it felt really good taking him out in one turn.

So does the party get together pretty early, or is it like 4HoL where you run around in assorted pairs of two for half the game?

Have not had anyone separated from the party yet also.

Found it! Thanks!

The pirate, chemist and superstar
were by far the easiest in that group. All taken down in one round.

I don't know if anyone here has made it this far yet, but I am also stuck on another blue exclamation point quest.

Chapter 4 spoilers
The Vampire class, I think. I have the ! on the upper left part of the map, but every time I go there I get a scene where one of the girls growls and the two other party members look kind of bummed out. I'm still in Chapter 4, so maybe the trigger for the next part doesn't happen until the next chapter? Or maybe I need some sort of item.

There should have been a cutscene during which the vampire says you need to find 6 key-stones hidden in different places in the world to open the door.
It's doable in ch. 4.

I think you need to defeat 6 elemental dragons after defeating the Paladin Boss

So I just got the ninja asterisk.

What a delightful sub quest! I totally wasn't expecting to get a mini murder mystery, but it was a really nice change of pace. This game is just doing a great job keeping things fresh.

lol was just going to post this too.

The spear sucks though D: Considering how by the time you get the proper class that can use it, its out classed by the town stuff if you did your upgrades right.

That's still a job system. It's not THE Job system, but it's definitely A job system.

And the context that he attempted to use it was still wrong. As 4WOL has nothing really in common with the First FF game, combat, world design, the fact the 4 characters have a personalty. Esp not how the job system is used. The job system has always been acknowledge as being able to change ones job on the fly. Even though it was referred to as you select a "job" at the start of the game, I wouldnt call it a "job system". Its basically picking a class you want to start the game as. With the word "class" being replaced by "job".

Just blew 200000pq on the golden egg, it doubles the amount of $$$ earned though denies you from gaining JP / EXP. Am using it to try and save up for 500000 grow egg which doubles exp / jp but blocks money gain. Eyes glazing over...

RPGLand: Is there anything you’d like to say to our readers, in closing?

Mr. Asano: I know that we don’t have plans to bring the game over to America yet, but thank you for your interest in the game. Keep talking about it on Facebook and Twitter, and keep watching for new info from us!

That was the mention of localization. There is none planned for the US yet.

I did read, and there was no mention of localization. What doth 'no pLans' mean to you?
That's your interpretation of what the mention was.

700,000pq later am the proud owner of both the
gold egg (2x the pq but no exp / JP) and the grow egg (2x the exp / JP but no pq)
dear god did that take forever. Had to use the
gold egg first since it costs 200,000. From there earn the 500,000 for the grow egg which am using now to lv up for all the time lost lol
and no using both doesnt work and you will just wind up with a zero across all 3 categories.

I didn't get any code from Dengeki yet.

Now the people buying that spear for those insanely high prices they look even more dumb.

Taking the character popularity survey might not unlock this achievement. It does unlock the achievement. >_>

Well I was going to ask Parakeetman a question but he's banned, anyone know why?

Oh Victor and Victoria.

I'm so glad I finally killed those assholes. Especially Victoria. I was totally with Agnes in not giving a shit about her tragic past. She's a terrible person and I'm glad we got our revenge for Olivia's murder
.

Feels good!

Chapter 4 subquest spoiler

Vampire job get! And it's actually a redesign of the blue mage class, nice =)
Parakeetman (RIP) may be super overleveled, I was completely underleveled and couldn't even win a single random fight in the dungeon. I barely made it by running from all of them thanks to teleport and had some epic 1-hour long fight with Lester (<3 Ninja). No offense but I think it's far more interesting than grinding for hours and beat bosses in 1 turn. How anticlimatic.
That was a lot of story too, much to my liking.

Edit: It seems a true sequel is in the work according to an official tweet, yes!!
