I'm pretty sure the eyes are having it easier the higher the refresh rate of an image is.
Yep, that Capcom quote is one for the ages.Maybe it's just because I woke up five minutes ago and this is the first thing I've seen this morning
But right now this seems like it may be the most bananas thing I've heard from a publisher all year, maybe among the most bananas of the generation
Who are they aiming this statement to?
Capcom in a month: good games are bad for productivity, thus RE6
I don't want my brain to fill in a damn thing. This isn't a fucking horror film with twitching people standing at weird angles that my mind attempts to comprehend. It's a damn action game. It won't feel like 60fps, it will feel like 30fps.
Ok seriously, can you even successfully and legitimately defend 30 FPS over 60 FPS? Is such a thing even possible?
Some have said that most people can't tell the difference and the emphasis on 60 fps and control fluidity is more niche.
Bullshit, CoD sells over 10 million copies every year.

I assure you that's not because of it's framerate
I assure you that's not because of it's framerate
Some of the most highly regarded games on gaf run at 30 frames a second. Halo 4 the biggest release of the season will run at 30 FPS
Even God Hand, an action game on the PS2 where 60 FPS was common, if not standard in the genre ran at 30 frames a second.
No one complains about that. Very popular game on gaf.
I prefer visual responsiveness with my games as well, but it's annoying as hell how "60FPS" has become a buzzword on here seemingly overnight
And I assure you it has a lot to do with it.

Oh please, it's not like our eyes are used to seeing things that are constantly in motion, now are they? 30 FPS is obviously easier on the eyes than 60 FPS.

I'm going to sell my PC, it's too fast.
Not that I'm on Capcom's side in this matter, but I highly doubt most people who play videogames casually even know what framerate is.
This is very true. Only a few of my buddies who are tech savvy know the difference and benefits. Everyone else just says, "So, it looks smoother."
That doesn't mean that it doesn't make a difference. Your friends may not know the specifics behins what they're experiencing, but they recognize that the experience is "smoother" or "different".
Most people who play CoD don't know what framerate is. That doesn't mean that they don't feel a huge difference when playing CoD at 60fps.
I don't know why we dont see more 24fps and 48fps games.
So either my sarcasm meter is severely broken or Itsuno's BS is working.
The RE avatar isn't helping either.
Not sure if serious.
