Considering most bomb attacks are carried out by muslims in the last decade or two, I don't know why people think its weird to point in that direction regarding this event.

oh god this again

That's not true at all. Some poster last night posted a detailing of every act of terrorism in the US since 2001, with very little being from muslim extremists.

Fox News saying the two persons of interest being sought can be seen wearing a backpack and carrying a bag.

Could it be?

I think he is holding his bag in the right-side picture, in front of him, having taken it off his back.

Yeah no. I find that very hard to believe considering Americas attack on Iraq, Afghanistan Pakistan etc.

Those guys are staff, whether they're from private military contractor or not (probably are). Look at any random pictures of the site after the explosions and you can find those same 2 guys plus a bunch of other guys in the same uniform. eg:

Those are just from random photos. I'm actually pretty sure that the picture of them talking on a phone or whatever is from after the bombing too
It is pretty clear that these guys are security/law enforcement.

There's a difference between providing relevant info to the investigators and attention- whoring on a videogame forum.

Excluding terrorist events with guns - which I imagine are exclusively domestic likely changes percentages.

But I don't know who did the bombing. I can't sit and say that one group of another is more likely than another. But it might be that these posters on gaf know who it did it.

That appears to have worked, by the way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWBJ4IBgjA4

Doesn't change the fact that lots of people are posting known debunked suspects still, but it does look like the internet detectives helped out.

Fox News saying the two persons of interest being sought can be seen wearing a backpack and carrying a bag.

Fox News is claiming pictures of two suspects have been distributed to law enforcement officials. Fox has the pictures but aren't releasing them until given the go ahead by the FBI. A Fox reporter said the suspects' faces are clearly visible in the pictures.

are the photos shown in that local coverage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWBJ4IBgjA4) the same ones that fox news is talking about? just wondering if this is confirmed or not

More likely than not an attack like this could be done by fundamentalist Muslims but some people are really trying to push the agenda that it could not be anyone but Muslim and brown colored people . just see by the majority of people armchair CSI folks identify are brown and look like muslims

Worldwide. Europe, Israel, Middle East....

Stats show that the vast majority of terrorist attacks, around the world, have been perpetrated by non-Muslims. Enough with your bullshit.

I've seen you post over the years, and there's more than a hint of bigotry, and especially islamophobia flowing through your veins. This tends to rear it's ugly head in any thread about any incident in the Middle-East, especially Israel, where you're an apologist to the core no matter what the circumstances are, justifying slaughter of innocents as long as your favorite team is doing it, going so far as to even cheer them on and condoning the continuation of violence. You apologize for and defend the killing of Muslims/Arabs, each and every time, not matter the circumstances or the country. You've been consistent on that.

So please, fuck off with your bigotry just this once. I have no idea who you're trying to convince with your backwards and misguided ideology. Oh, and let me guess- bombs dropped by "Christians" (ie. the US) that have killed tensm if not hundreds of thousands of Muslims don't count as "bombs", right?

And I like how you've continually changed your definition of terrorism, after being called out on being wrong each time. Now, worldwide refers to "christians in islamic states"- no doubt to be refined even further to suit your agenda. The signs of a liar with no real interest in the truth or objectivity.

Worldwide means all together.

Why do you ignore Israel and the Middle East? Are you aware of what is happening to Christians living in Islamic States in the Middle East?

That doesn't make sense. Bombings happen in Israel and Middle East so wherever it happens it must be muslims? What are you trying to say here.

Also this link seems vague... what accounts for a terrorist act? Shouldn't death toll be the deciding factor?

I'm sure Palestinian children killed and maimed by the IDF don't count in your terrorist attack numbers, right?

Culture of fear.

What does that mean?

I don't think so. A few of those have been around since yesterday online and the FBI has security footage of someone leaving a bag.

There are pictures of the same guy without his bag though. And the reports are that the video shows a man dropping a black bag. They might have video of those guys, which hasn't been seen yet.

Americans:

We Have just wasted a war and lives on mis identifying muslims. Its still shitting up that part of the world today.

Nothing wrong with using an inch of restraint, while waiting for better information.

While I'm not shocked that everyone is pointing out the only brown people in a crowd, I am a little let down by people not wanting to wait this out a bit. That people are forgetting sandy, oklahoma, waco, etc are all white people. And reports are coming in th at the ricin guy, is american too.

History can't repeat itself this close together.. not while we are still living through our mistake about 9/11.

Hamas encourages child soldiers and launching their rockets in densely populated neighborhoods, so that children/women do die from Israel defense. It isn't the same to Palestinians launching hundreds to thousands of rockets every year (not having a clue where they will hit and for no purpose other than to erode potential peace).

Oh boy

What does that mean? They are likely to be the suspects.

It means that people are so invested into these events that it contributes to a general increase of fear.
Fear of terrorists, of your fellow man, of diseases, of distant events, of close ones, of society in general, and so much more.

We are so swept up in the sensationalizing process, of the fear mongering of the news, that we end up doing the work of the terrorists for them.

They are just the spark, because everyone else will be fanning the flames of fear.

Not sure what that had to do with my post. I'm not in fear:p I'm discussing pictures and how they might be the ones that Fox are talking about, showing the suspects.

I'm not ignoring anything, you stated that most cases of terrorism were due to Islam and listed Europe as an example, and that is categorically false.

"Worldwide" except for North-America, South America and Europe? Tell you what, if you could give me a source that says that the majority of terrorist attacks around the world are of an islamic nature I might accept your point.

Watching CNN, they were interviewing a guy who was released from the hospital (still had a nail in his neck, too dangerous to remove) and he had to bring up the fact they weren't sure about paying the hospital bills (his g/fs brothers were still in the hospital, both lost a leg)

Another reminder how messed up our health care system is. The last thing these victims should be thinking about is medical bills.

Easy, Israel.

Some 1,500 rockets were launched into Israel last year. So that right there trumps Europe and America.

I heard they got Kenneth Feinberg for the victims fund earlier on CNN.

This thread is about to do down a deep dark spiral of bickering.

Yep, ignore the quite obvious derail bait.

That's messed up. I thought the hospitals/insurance would automatically cover something like this. It's an extraordinary event after all.
