I hope my hype level will rise later on.

The way they now announced the event is kind of lame, I mean that See the Future Trailer was awesome. Since they say this will be live on SpikeTV I hope they will make some advertising for the event or so and not just some banners on the 360 dashboard.

But still, I am happy they finaly done it.

Balmer or whowever should come on stage, and their first words should be "Fuck Adam Orth" and completely destroy any worries about any always-online bullshit. If they aren't doing it, they need to get it out of the way fast. Otherwise, their entire presentation will just get a response of "That's nice, but do I have to be online to actually play?"

If this announcement of an announcement reveal thread is anything to go by, this console generation and war will be amazing to sit back and laugh at. The cattiness already is funny.

YEAH BUT SONY SHOWED A FUCKING ELEPHANT GETTING ITS HEAD CHOPPED OFF AND SOMEONE GETTING SHOT IN TEH FACE

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

...or something...

-------------------------------------------

I love the amount of:

that goes on with all this stuff.
End of the day Sony and MS have flaws. Sony had a nice reveal that was very informative, MS would do well to take some things on board but also learn from mistakes.

The idea Sony are any less 'suit' like than MS is a myth put out by people who share the view that 'Sony loves gamers' and they're their best friend or something.

There is a problem of MS's culture but its not the reveal, its how much the other parts of MS are getting involved in Xbox and trying to turn it into something its not and something not designed with the consumer in mind.

It'll be disastrous, dangerous and disappointing if this happened. I hope not...but it is MS...

For the alternative; whenever Jack Tretton speaks, I no longer want a PS4 or to be apart of any of that stuff. I hate the culture around Sony and their games.

--------------------------------------------

NOW lets all ride the meltdowns, stay safe and have ourselves a wee 2013 console launching party.

But at least they have a culture for their games.

From Major Nelson's blog:

On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games.

So hardware reveal on the 21st with demos of games to demonstrate hardware/features. Huge game focus with E3 conference less than 3 weeks later. Sounds good to me.

I'll be at work when this goes off, need to do something about that. Have to be on GAF if the rumors are true, meltdown of the ages.

Microsoft are geniuses. They fake leaked out the always online and no used games to piss off the public then will seem like a hero when they announce they had absolutely no intention of doing it and they care about us gamers.

GENIUS

Finally. Should be good. Maybe we'll have Kinect dorks playing demos like we saw at Sony's conference eh :D Fingers crossed for some PG5 and real 1st party games to wow us all.

They won't even touch on it.

So, apparently Xbox Live launched in 2004 in Europe according to Microsoft. Looks like I was in the future when playing Moto GP, MM3, PGR2, etc... Back in 2003...

you're talking about a few hundred nerds on GAF who are offended by this whole thing

The xbox core will be there with timed exclusive Call of Duty DLC on its own. They obviously want to tap into a bigger crowd.

I'm actually interested in seeing what more Kinect can bring to the table. Multiplat games are always going to be around and that never changes, but I'm interested in some new experiences.
