The OS is still kind of slow-ish, but it's certainly an improvement. The biggest culprit at the moment is exiting from a game/app and returning to the Home menu. Everything else is fairly swift.

I am so fucking happy about the overscan fix. I'm one of those maniacs that was actually being discouraged from playing games because just the idea that I was getting a cut off picture was goddamn killing me.

Just started up Nintendo Land to see how long it would take to get back to the menu...

...It literally took a second, the update video Nintendo posted was slower than it was.

Do you know if screen size settings affects Wii mode too?

Nice. This should've been the case since day 1, but better late than never I suppose.

This has been fixed? Lordy, about time!

This thread is so huge I didn't notice this issue has been resolved.

Ta for the heads up!

Wow, the amount of time it took to leave Punch Out and get to the menu was very small. Time to try the same thing with Mario. Yessss. Glad that the system is faster.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Update installed just fine.
In Europe, Nintendo TVii still doesn't exist, but it plays nice music now.

It is noticeably faster. No doubt about it.

Also now on the user selection screen when you turn the system on it shows your NNID under your username and there is a shortcut for the user settings menu, that I don't remember being there before, correct me if I'm wrong.

You can now adjust the size of the screen so overscan should not be a problem any more.

Also there are a few cosmetic changes, like the icon to switch between the TV and the Gamepad on the Wii U main menu

And now you can open an app or a game when it is selected by pressing A (before you had to touch on the screen).
