Played this, Forza and NFS yesterday. Graphically it looks good but Forza and NFS demos blow it out of the water during game play. If you have played these on the show floor you have to be blind not to see the huge difference. Hopefully the graphics improve on DC as I will be getting it, and I am not sure I want to buy a Xbone for this game.

The controller makes a big difference too as the rumble feedback on xbone was so good, especially with the new triggers it made the experience so much more enjoyable. I just want to hate on Xbone due their DRM but this was a tough pill to swallow yesterday.

How exactly do the triggers work in the XBONE?

It's native 1080p. and if DC really is 35% done (or whatever they showed) it should look worse than Forza 5 right now. PS4 has a hardware advantage, but it's not that significant.

I Was reading CVG initial impression of Forza 5. They too said that Forza 5 has blown away DC in terms of graphics. Last night I was watching a youtube video of DC off-screen gameplay and rhe person mentioned stated that it is pre-alpha version. This gives hope that final product will definitely be different.

What I don't understand is why would you place a demo on show floor which is not graphically anyway near to competition?

Are there any videos of new NFS? Offscreen footage vs. offscreen fotage, I thought DC looked better than Forza, but of course Forza has 60FPS on its side. Cockpit seemed much better lit in DC in particular. I also think DC has realtime lighting with day/night changes, where F5 was all lightmaps, thus no changing of day time.

Probably these issues will be taken care of before launch. And as mentioned in previous posts by fellow GaFfers that DC is just 35% complete. I just hope it is 60fps.

Thanks so much, I saw them both now. I might be crazy or things might look different in person, but for me DC look better than NFS hands down in these videos. The lighting just looks so nice and smooth in the game, and you can see how the lighting changes on the trees etc, everything seems lit dynamically. Aliasing is a problem though, I can tell they're probably just using FXAA here, so on thin lines such as distant poles there's obvious alias shimmer, and this probably looks worse in person.

Downloaded the videos but am pretty disappointed. Bad quality and way too dark :(

I want some direct footage in my veins!

The e3 demo is looking VERY rough. Not surprised hearing the game is only 35% done. It looks like a game only 35% complete.

Forza 5 build blows it away. No jaggies, rock solid 60fps, killer lighting & wow factor in draw distance & detail.

The backgrounds look pretty bad ( funny considering that was one of the biggest + points from the screenshots we had)

I understand it might be more stable, but for a launch game, it should have been in a lot better state.

Like most of the time, I doubt we will see much of an increase graphically. With this realisation, I hope it is pushing 60 FPS.

This game does have full 24 hour timing which is awesome too.

Any information on the weather?

Now that is out of the way, the most important part, driving and physics. From the videos, it looks pretty fun.

I was hoping it would have been like Test drive unlimited 2 but with better physics and such. My fault for expecting too much.

One day.

So, DriveClub. The devs /are/ aiming for 60fps. PS Plus version will be full game (single player too) but lack of cars/tracks.

Dedicated servers mean Evolution can make changes on the fly, without game updates.

No performance customisation, but you can apply club badges to your cars. Points won go with you when you leave a club, which is smart.

Devs described the game as using a 'service model' approach. Content pushed regularly to gamers.

Project Cars at hi resolutions with all ultra graphics looks much better to me:

Relax. Don't let the high-end visuals fool you -- this isn't some uptight sim. It's all about driving and enjoying yourself. It's all about accessibility, Evolution Studios tells us. It's all about pick-up-and-play arcade racing in beautiful cars.
DriveClub wants you to get behind the wheel and show off, and I tried to do exactly that in a beautifully rendered Audi R8 in a time attack ride around scenic Scottland. Despite the game being pre-alpha, at about 35 percent done so far, DriveClub looks smashing with its glossy cars, fancy lighting, and high level of detail. And when you drive poorly it also looks...well, smashy. Damage modeling is in place in DriveClub.
DriveClub gave me my first chance to try out the new PS4 controller in a racer. I'm glad to say that the DualShock 4 feels like it was made for racing games. Everything from the grippy analog sticks to the hand feel and weight made me want to take the controller home with me. I really dug the new triggers of the DS4. Their improved sensitivity and grip made getting back on the road easy. There are nice finger indentations on these triggers that make accelerating and braking feel more secure and solid than ever. Evolution did a nice job of using what Sony gave them to dial in a great drive feel.

That first one doesn't make sense... you get the game but no cars or tracks? Or you get the game, but with reduced cars and tracks?

bold part is correct.

I think its going to be, you get the game with all the features but get about 50-75% of the cars and tracks. And you'll probably be able to buy the remaining 25-50% in a package for like say $10-$19.99 if you want to.

I was going to buy the retail version, but I'll probably go with that second approach ($10-19.99) so I can use some money saved on any other game.

That makes sense. While it's a shame that it's not the full game, it makes sense and should be enough to get people into the franchise and racing with their friends... hopefully enough to bring in some revenue for Evolution.

Mascot-> Can you make a thread about this please? People might be interested in knowing their 800€ wheel/pedals is working on PS4...and not on XBone (unbelievable!)

Edit: wait...looks like I can make new threads myself now!

I asked an Evo employee on another forum and DriveClub will support current PS3 compatible wheels

So Fanatec wheels will work with PS4? That revelation is a system seller all by itself, and another mark against the Xbone.

This news is threadworthy.
Thread created yet? I can't wait to see the gifs after saying that wheels will work with that but Forza is still yet to be confirmed (and highly unlikely). Never mind that not only will it support Fanatec wheels, but also G27s.

Having wheel support out of the box with a wheel I already have is 100% god-tier. Feels good, man.

OK, that's great news that they're aiming for 60.

of course, that will mean that if they don't make it, it'll be all the more disappointing. But I got faith in the Evo guys to deliver.

That's great news and definitly all the info we got so far is pointing at the PS4 supporting the wheels but I'd love to have a more official answer.

Yo yo hold up. What's this. Fanatec wheels will work on PS4 now? Does PS4 support both types of wheel tech now???? Because there were some wheels that only worked on 360.

Or just the current batch of wheels that already work with the PS3?

Not sure what you mean. Fanatec wheels worked everywhere. ps3, pc and xbox. I've had one for a couple years.

looks like they should work on ps4 (at least via USB, but maybe not wireless). And it seems like they won't on the XB one?

I thought a few Fanatec wheels only worked on the 360? I know a few of the best one's work on both the PS3 and PS4. Main one I'm gunning for is the CSR Elite, or whatever it's successor is. If that works, i'm happy.

All Fanatec X360 models - PWTS, GT2, CSR and CSR Elite - are 100% multiplatform wheels (both HID/XID wheels) that are working on PlayStation/PC/Xbox360.

There is no something in veins of "PS4 support of both tech". PlayStation platform has been supporting USB/HID connection which is industry-standard (used by PS and PC platforms for peripheral-device connections) for more then a decade now and at this point we are presuming they will support it in the future as well. It is the standard used by Fanatec (PWTS, GT3RS, GT2, CSR, CSR Elite, CSW), Logitech (GT Force, Formula GT, DFP, G25, G27, DFGT, Driving Force EX..) and Thrustmaster (T500RS, FGTX, F430FF, RGT...) and all other manufacturers that make their wheels specialized for PC (without PS support because they do not use API/SDK as "commercial" manufactures and they use their own API/SDK which is not used by PlayStation) - as Frex, ECII, legendary Momo wheel, even Microsoft SideWinder and incoming Leo Bodnar wheel for example. All of those are USB/HID wheels.

Microsoft is the one that is using its own "unique" tech on Xbox platform - XID/Xinput - to restrict the approach of the non-licensed devices on their platforms in order to additionally monetize on licenses and peripheral-control.

How did it look in person?

Also LOL at people using bullshots/ photomode ( yes, good luck playing at that resolution from Pcars at a decent framerate). I mean the Driveclub screenshots before gave us all the impression the game was stunning.

As GT5,F4, F5 ( looks good, but not as good as the screens) and DC have shown, photomode screen shots are BS.

So far DC is good looking mainly with apparent problems.

oh yeah, you're right. they have a range. I think they had a model that was 360 only. but at the time I got mine, their TOTL offerings were multiplatform.

checking their site now, it seems like all the wheels are ps3/pc compatible.

so it should be ok for ps4 if the usb interface works as we would expect

There's no Fanatec wheel that is 360 only... All the wheels are PC/PS3 and some of them also have 360 support, not the other way around.
