It took Nintendo two years to sort out the 3DS, now it's the best selling console in the world. I wouldn't be too worried about the console.
Yeah right lol
I do, what does that mean?
Just that the game won't do anything to attract new console buyers, and wont change the "some developers have become pessimistic about wii u" thing. That is all.
I bought a Wii U because DKCTF was announced.

I love my 3DS, but what? No it isn't, and it's still underperforming compared to the original DS.
wait there are people in this thread that are actually trying to downplay the DKC series as some sort of poor quality property?
are these people idiots? the DKC series is one of the most well received, highest selling, enjoyable 2d platformers ever made.
wtf?
seriously, what is wrong with DKC:TF? can someone answer this seriously, because from the videos i've seen, it looks to be a tremendous game to look forward to if you enjoyed & played games before the dudebro invasion.
considering the pedigree behind it, it'll probably go down as one of the best platformers released this generation, too.
fucking console warz.

I'm wrong then. There is a DK contingent.
I guess if Pikmin can push consoles, why not DK? I got my wii u for Pikmin, btw.
You are forgetting that the nature of handhelds and home consoles gave/give the 3DS some advantages over the WiiU when it comes to Nintendo fixing poor launch periods.
A safe, unambitious sequel to a 2D platformer from Retro Studios.
"Their answer": It's not 3D.
My answer: Thank goodness.
We haven't seen anything from that game yet, good chance for me it will be a Game of the Year candidate despite it obviously being a "waste of talent";]
noone wanted a 3d donkey kong, they wanted metroid
Was Donkey Kong Country 2 a safe, unambitious sequel from Rare???
It was still on the same hardware, unlike this game - even though there's no sign of a generational leap.

How is the 3DS port selling out of curiosity?noone wanted a 3d donkey kong, they wanted metroid
10 years ago we were being treated to such delights like Donkey Konga and Mario DDR. Damn Nintendo for churning out proper DK and Mario games rather than these rhythm based spinoffs!

3-5 years ago, we were treated to new ideas such as Elite Beat Agents, The Last Story, Rhythm Paradise, Hotel Dusk, Disaster, and Super Mario Galaxy. Now we mostly get very safe sequels.
I don't play generational leaps, I play games.
Outside of messageboards, I doubt people buy systems based on such terminology.
When's all said and done the Wii U will still have a sold a great amount WW.
Who complained about that when we got Mario Galaxy 2???
You do realise my post was in reference to what StunandStab was saying. He claimed 10 years ago was the last time Nintendo was releasing games for "the fans". By bringing up five years ago you actually agree with me that what he is saying is codswallop.3-5 years ago, we were treated to new ideas such as Elite Beat Agents, The Last Story, Rhythm Paradise, Hotel Dusk, Disaster, and Super Mario Galaxy. Identical.
Returns = DeVito
Tropical Freeze = Schwarzenegger

Same hardware as Galaxy 1. Really that hard to grasp? This is an expensive, all new HD console and all we get is leftovers from the fucking 3DS and Wii.

What's really hard to grasp is the logic that a critically acclaimed high selling game doesn't deserve even one sequel by the developer that made it.

450k units on the top selling 3rd party game.
I fucking wonder why Nintendo.
How can a company be so stupid?
This whole '3D World is a 3DS game!' Is stupid, really annoying and just plain wrong...This is an expensive, all new HD console and all we get is leftovers from the fucking 3DS and Wii.
Its a very stupid title to debut on a console with from such a prestigious dev house.

They should have made a Killzone:[
I can tell that Donkey Kong is using shampoo and conditioner in Tropical Freeze. His fur looks luxurious.
Sure, it deserves it. It's just not going to sell consoles in the way Nintendo needs it to. Even people who liked the previous game aren't going to drop the money on a new console for a slightly improved version of a game they already have. What's really hard to grasp is the logic that a critically acclaimed high selling game doesn't deserve even one sequel by the developer that made it.

Well I know that, Yall was on the topic of DKC so I chipped in my 2 cent thats all. I dont get what the hell you quoted me for lolJust that the game won't do anything to attract new console buyers, and wont change the "some developers have become pessimistic about wii u" thing. That is all.
