If you're going to add it up like that then include all of the F2P games on the PS4 like Planetside 2, Warframe, DCUO, etc. There's more value on day 1 if you get the PS4.

I don't care about Fifa in the slightest but it certainly would grab attention for the Xbox One in the EU. If Sony are trying to beat MS but launching earlier, MS has to do something to negate that possible unit advantage that Sony might have.
Simple math really. PS4 with Fifa 14, will be cheaper than the Xbox One Fifa 14 bundle AND possibly might launch a few weeks BEFORE the Xbox. On top of all this, Fifa 14 on current gen consoles will launch a MONTH before next gen. This doesn't scream smart business decision, it screams desperation from Microsoft.

It honestly makes me wonder. Yes, MS have a colossal war chest to spend but why Xbox? They have been very quick to drop products that aren't making big money in the past, yet the Xbox division seems to have been given a blank cheque time and time again and now this. Is this still Bill Gates' baby?

Yep , for this reason if PS4 lauch so much time early ( 1 month gap ) than Xbone and FIFA 14 is avaliable for PS4 no matter what deal MS does with EA , Consumers in Europe will get PS4 version , also PS4-FIFA 14 will still be cheaper...

And all the future Instant Game Collection, just look at PS3 and Vita for an example. MS hasn't announced a Instant Game Collection alternative for the Xbox One.

Yes, surely everyone will just flock to the still more expensive system. MS is would be closing the gap between the two but it's not a clear win. There are also still people don't give a shit about FIFA.
I agree with you here. The thing about this is, this isn't a case of making it exclusive, this is just adding it to every console sold. PS4/PS3/360/WiiU/GBC owners can still buy FIFA 14, but new Xbox One purchasers will have it packed in for free. They are just making it a better proposition when looking at the system if you were considering the next gen version of FIFA. If Sony were to do the same thing, the PS4 would undoubtedly dominate Europe, so this is just a case of Microsoft trying to level the field.
I hope they pack in Madden here in the U.S.
I need to know before August 27th because if they really are that bold, I'll pass on Madden until the Xbox One launches.

I like this approach, I'd rather see this path versus the kinect-less sku rumor. Adding credit to your Live Account so you could buy what you want would be a good way of having a "create-your-own bundle" while simultaneously encouraging the digital vision that MS seems to want to push. However, an exclusive probably has more of a marketing impact.

There is no casual audience at 400 \ 500 price which these systems cost .
Still this is a good move by MS but if this is the free game tier 2 countries getting it won't matter much .

Kinect is integral to the hardware, it comes with the system.
The PS camera has always been touted as an optional extra.
They're not comparable when balancing value.
If this is just PR gymnastics and it's an "exclusive" bundle then who cares? It's still more expensive than a PS4 + fifa 14.
I guess it's nice if you were planning on getting an XBO and fifa but it doesn't really change anything.

Let's be honest - we still have to see what MS's marketing strategy will be like. There's a good chance they'll go with an absolute blitz. They're tv promotions have been stellar for the 360. Add in some Fifa fantasy league Kinect related thingiemajig, make an awesome ad, and they'll be in a damned good position.

Any XBO stock that would have gone to the other Euro countries at launch will now be channelled to the launch country locations. MS should have more then enough.
If anything. It's Sony that may be spreading themselves too thin.

If you want to continue with a regular console with not futuristic vision go ahead and buy your PS4 and never get out of the old gaming box.
People still don't understand MS is trying to do cool stuff with the Kinect and are trying to sell the whole thing as a bundle. I have no problem with that. Thanks goodness for variety.
No single game could fully mitigate the price difference, so I don't see how this would sway anyone who was already going PS4 over X1. Still, will be interesting to see the little gift MS has reserved for the faithful.

Personally think linear will work brilliantly with Kinect if it does what they say if can, imagine having your mates round and the Kinect picks up who's got the controller and adjusts your team/buttons/tactics accordingly, will be really good for when you have your mates round.

Because given all of the shit Mattrick has been given, the Xbox 360 has made Microsoft a lot of money. Xbox is the branding going forward for Microsoft. It's the first 'cool' thing they have done in a long time. They are going to ride this until the wheel truly come off so while they are doing that, we get deals like this.
