Anyone else think that Sony may slip the PS4 out in Japan before the year end?
I'm thinking a late December launch potentially.
Vita released Dec 17th in Japan.
I still think that business wise Sony would be better off reserving every last PS4 for the US/European markets.

I don't think there's any real chance of an early launch in Japan. They've been almost completely ignored throughout this whole lead-up to launch.

I hope they hire the camera crew from last year. Those guys would randomly cut to shots of the wall before realizing that there was a trailer on screen.

I don't think I remember anything specific from TGS since the Wiimote unveiling.

Playstation Premier 2007 is the last SCEJ event which suprised me a lot, maybe the Pre-TGS conf where they announced Drk Souls but not even close.

Chamber, I think it would be such a betrayal to the Japanese game market if Sony decides to release after the rest of the world. Nintendo did release Wii U in NA first but unless japan have just given up console gaming altogether, Japanese consumers will be rather pissed off since all the previous Playstations have been release there first.
I will shed a tear for japanese gamers if such is the case.

The chance of being eariler is quite small.
Because if they do so, I would probably hear something from some retailers anyway.

We don't know that, yet. Sony could do a small Japan launch, maybe squeeze in half a million units for this year. It's surprising how early they started making these.

If Sony Japan announces a game there's probably about a 90% chance that it's externally developed. They've never developed a lot of games internally.
Japanese gamers are not going to show up for a new console without appropriate software. A day one launch with Final Fantasy XIV, Yakuza: Ishin and Everybody's Golf would make more sense than shoving it out there in November with Killzone and Watch Dogs.
The trailers only have SCE Japan Studio's logo on it, but it's not the first time a developer would be revealed after. Tokyo Jungle, and Rain both only had Japan Studio tags on them initially.

PS4 has Knack, though. I recall a lot of people from Japan playing Resistance 1 shortly after launch.

With FFXIV? That would most probably be next year.
I hope for a launch this year, December at least. Since I'm living in SEA, getting an NA or EU version would be pretty expensive via the black market.
That's going to sell like 60k in Japan.

I think a new HSG could be ready for launch or at least near it. It's not as big as it used to be, but that may just be due to the hit the recent platforms its been on have taken in terms of popularity. I'm definitely expecting a PS4 version to be announced.
Gravity Rush 2's unveiling has to be happening soon. That's got to be at this event or TGS. I'm really looking forward to how it turns out since at least a some of the originals development was in porting it from the PS3 to the Vita. So they'll be able to focus all their time on the Vita this time around.

Actually going to pay attention to this, first time I will import games, so interesting to see if anything they show interests me
but the current launch line up is aimed towards the western audience. Can't see Japan getting too hyped for games like KZ.

Toyama's gave a bunch of hints, and apparently the game did 150k in Japan which is pretty good for a new SCE IP.
Freedom Wars It's sub native resolution so it has a chance to be externally developed. Also since Puppeteer and Knack were in development I assume that they didn't have much people to spare.

As much as I love my Vita, I wouldn't mind a 1080p/60FPS version on the PS4. Such a beautiful IP just waiting to get the proper console treatment.
