Yoshinori Ono Tweets New Deep Down Images

not in the slightest.

Disagree.

Especially considering the scale of both games in comparison to Deep Down, which I feel is a bit overrated here on GAF from a visual standpoint. It's a very confined environment, which impresses thanks largely to its textures and lighting.

You give Naughty Dog or Quantic Dream the same size limitations and they will blow Deep Down away visually.

We have 8 GB of RAM in ps4. Obviously all of it can't be used for games, but we have enough to where textures shouldn't be looking like that. Some of it might be due to the quality of the screenshot, but why would Capcom release a screenshot that doesn't highlight it's game?

Didn't Capcom have development kits with GTX 680s or something when they made the original trailer?

The original trailer is essentially an in-engine cinematic. I wouldn't doubt it's doable on a ps4 purely as a tech demo (see that quantic dreams demo as an example).

he certainly isnt doing the game any favors with these screens...

So they reveal the game with a video showing what they want to achieve.

Later, they start showing off what the game currently looks like.

People are disappointed that it doesn't look as good as reveal.

There's still tons of time to improve. I'm sure they can get close to the reveal's quality, given enough time.

What do you mean? None of Naughty Dog's games appear to be "larger" than Deep Down - all of their games are extremely linear.

If developers cannot meet their original target render render they should not release trailers with said renders.

These screens look nothing like the original trailer (which was very impressive btw).

It's like Deep Down gets deeply downgraded with every following tweet shot.

Didn't Ono say the first and second shot were running on ps4? First shot looks like the reveal trailer with nothing compromised.

Not actually that important

Because ND's and QD's games are the perfect example of big open games. Gotcha.

I see they're still releasing 720p screenshots.

That lighting is awesome.

It's Sparse Voxel Cone GI, which is similar to what Epic was originally going to do for Unreal Engine 4, but actually efficient enough to run on PS4.

It means it's all real time and has all the nice things that come with that lighting wise.

Lighting still looks excellent, some of the most impressive shown. Everything else looks blurry. Is this supposed to running sub-HD or something? Even the gameplay shown earlier looks much better... Textures on PS4 shouldnt be a limiting factor at all...Textures for instance in Infamous, an open world game, are pretty damn good... There seems to be a ton of motion blur in this game though, especially in the dragon scene shown at the PS4 event, which I like...

The lighting looks incredible. I'm actually pretty excited to see more of this. I can't say I'm a fan of the online only portion, but I'm not writing it off until I see more. I'm interested though.

Is this game 720p or something? Most of the recent media has been shown at this res.

I see they're still releasing 720p screenshots.

Glad I am not the only one who is noticing this.

Also, SVOGI allows them to probably build rather OK randomly generated levels. The lighting and indirect lighiting does not need to be manually touched up... it just works.

Wow you guys really care about graphics.
It's not about "caring about graphics", it's about a) it being a next-gen title that looks just like a standard PS3 game (I've seen some that probably look better, even), and b) it looks nothing like the graphics shown in the reveal.

Just because bullshots are standard in the industry, doesn't mean they're acceptable. The difference between the graphics in the reveal and what we've seen recently is staggering. One is next-gen, the other is barely high-end PS3 level. Meh.

I look at it and the rendering looks nearly as good but the asset quality is a massive downgrade, but then I think, art takes a long time to complete.

Yeah, it's a visual downgrade but so what? This still looks in-freaking-credible for a launch window title. I need this noooooow!
