They can refuse a port of a game on the X-Box One to try and bully the publisher into enforcing parity, but the problem is that it's only a tangible threat if they have a significant lead in market share. As an example, if Nintendo tried to do this with the Wii U right now - and you almost couldn't blame them, with the way publishers are stripping features out of Wii U ports - the publisher would simply laugh at them and tell them to enjoy having one less game on their system.
If Sony ends up with the larger installed user base - which seems very likely, at the moment - then there's very little Microsoft can do to compel parity. There would be more money to potentially be lost in upsetting Sony (due to higher sales being all but guaranteed on the PS4) than Microsoft, meaning that Microsoft would have to not only pay them enough to risk losing the lion's share of their retail, but potentially souring their relationship with the console holder that has greater market share; not likely.
They'd be better off moneyhatting for exclusives than trying to moneyhat parity. The returns are enormously better and there are tons of developers like Platinum who really can't resist a hand-out, whereas few publishers with the money to develop AAA multiplatform releases are bought off cheaply.
most people forget that the majority of PCs are going to have less power than ps4 for a few more years. It's not just consoles holding back development, but people using their $600 computers for 5+ years.

Besides, im not convince Microsoft is as good at retaining studio talent as Sony seems to be. Its not the name of the dev that makes a game good, its the people or rather the team, working on the title.

I personally have no problems getting an XONE at launch. If there are hardware issues, warranty will cover it and there are loads of games I don't want to miss out on. Just because it will not be as technically advanced as PS4 does not mean it will be bad. It will look amazing. I will also have a PS4 so I can choose which platform to play a particular game on when I read the reviews.

I love these threads. NeoGaf is a really unique place, and this thread is a great example of why.
On topic, that 32mb of esram is what is saving but holding the console back from hitting full HD it seems. Microsoft fucked up. It's amazing to think of the original product they were trying to shift on people, and even with all the 180's, they are still not getting it.
They are really just spraying colognes on a turd at this point. If anything close to Red Ring happens to the system, say goodbye to the Xbox division as we know it.

Yield issues : Unproven. Denied by MS, of course.
Downclock : This didn't belong to CBOAT.
Games to look worse : We barely saw any games actually running on Xbox. And everything points to stuff actually being worse. Ryse 900p. KI3 720p. Titanfall not likely to be 1080p. etc.
Mirror's Edge/POP : ME did appear, just not at MS event. POP was admittedly wrong on his end.
Family Share : Wrong by virtue of it being completely scrapped, so lol.
PS4 launch : Proven wrong.
Indie titles : CBOAT didn't say this, all he said was the the indie plan is still half-baked.
Platinum : He didn't say that an announcement was coming at TGS. AT. ALL.
There's only about 3 or 4 things he got wrong, amidst the dozens he got right. Everything else was misinterpretation.

I've not followed any of Cboats previous predictions but going from that reddit post on all the recent things he got wrong he seems like a Michael pachter type.
Throw enough shit and eventually some of it will stick.
Thoroughly loved my 360 and I'm hopeful they can achieve equal success with the one , will probably buy both after a wait and see approach , but it does seem fishy timing , praise the ps4 and hate the Xbox right before it's launch.

Also can stand his stupid cryptic messages , anyone who talks like that I instantly think is some 13 year old try hard , not saying cboat is one of them but why not just talk normally , I seriously doubt it protects his identity .

That guy is a dumbass.
Yeah, he's been wrong about some things but he's been correct A LOT more than he's been incorrect. Anything hardware related you can probably bet is real. Software or OS-related leaks may have been true at the time he heard them but can change a lot more frequently and at last minute. People like that dumbass on Reddit are just bitter about how their platform of choice is being treated. If he thinks Gaf is anti-Xbox One, he should try going out and talking to the more casual gamers who are overwhelmingly more interested in PS4.

Use a common sense, man. If you lurk GAF at work or in public in University, pics like that should be tagged with NSFW and linked instead of embed.
Esram yield could be true, they did postpone the launch in 8 countries, so there's obviously something causing problems in mass production. Maybe not wrong
Downclock : cboat never said there would be one. Not wrong because never said so (another insider did i think)
Games to look worse : He said there was a problem with the new sdk causing 15% drop in performance, but it was normal and would be fixed. So not wrong

Please, don't base your decision off of a post from the xbox subreddit. You're clearly going to get heavy bias there. Look at his post history yourself, he's had lots of interesting predictions dating to way before the 360. You should even read the messages right above me, giving a more insightful look at what the one person posted on reddit (and showing how much in the wrong he was)
Also many say that he writes like he does as to avoid getting quoted by the press.

Honestly dude, Pachter isn't even that bad. He is an analyst. Nowhere in his resume does it say soothsayer. Same thing with Cboat in many ways. They TRY to give opinions based on insider knowledge or statistics they analyze.
