The PS+ version is a stripped down version of the full game. Has anyone considered that the PS+ version could still release? Perhaps it's getting the content finished that's caused the delay?

I think at this point they should be way past developing content.

Optimization and bug killing is what is holding this up, if the delay turns out to be true.

You do know #NoPS4DRM was started because Mortimer had heard it was a possibility? Sony definitely considered it. Not to the level MS did but it was on the table and handled the right way behind closed doors rather than the very public handling MS had.

This is about the only reason I can think of for waiting to buy a PS4 until february, it's not going to be cheaper in Feb, If I had kids, then I'd likely be waiting until feb, actually i'd buy it launch day have it in my bedroom for a month then give it to them for christmas and tell them I don't know why my profile is on their PS4 with KZ:SF platinum trophy.

True. Just saying that they have historically not been keen on commenting on rumors. They could be laughing their heads off watching this thread, for all we know. Good perception. Evolution are one of Sony's most tech savvy and reliable developers. I think the time may help or it may not be delayed and look as good as it already does. Time will help this one be even more polished and content rich.

I've thought about that too. It makes a lot of sense, actually. Treat the PS+ version as a beta(1080p/30fps, limited cars/tracks) and launch the full game in 2014(more polished while hopefully running at 60fps with weather).

So I do think they'll have to replace it with something, and the question is "what?" Knack seems like the only other choice, but thast even seems unlikely, since they would have to give the full game. Maybe a part of KZ: Shadow Fall, like the single player only or the multiplayer only.

I'm thinking the same. This news combined with Watch Dogs being delayed basically leaves me with COD and Battlefield... having a hard time getting excited for those two franchises right now, even if they are on new consoles.

If I remember an earlier video correctly, it seemed like you could download KZ in two parts (single-player & multiplayer). There could be a short term consolation prize where the KZ multiplayer is a PS+ title until DC comes out.

Yep, you only need to play the first Motorstorm and Apocalypse to see just how much they've improved over the course of this generation.

I'm sure they'll continue to grow next generation and will eventually rival Polyphony as one of the best developers Sony have in their ranks.

Exactly. The most impressive shots of the game have been the pre-rendered trailer. Maybe this delay will let them hit that.

Gif's from video's and demo's don't really tell us much. Maybe the online is completely broken. Maybe only 5 tracks and 15 cars are fully implemented. Maybe there are tons of game breaking bugs that Evolution doesn't think they have time to fix.

So yeah, it could very well be in bad shape. This was supposed to be one of Sony's big launch exclusives, given out free to every PS+ subscriber. For all we know, development is going fine and the game will ship on time. But if the rumor is true and it's getting delayed, somethings gone horribly wrong.

They pretty much did the same with Ryse, Dead Rising, Crimson Dragon and probably even Forza 5 based on what it looks like. On one hand... maybe, on the other I'm glad I had a nice set of PS3 titles to play throughout this year leading to November.
