Here's what PS4 game cases look like in real life

How are these recycled bluray cases? All BD cases have the bit of plastic on top that say Blu Ray (similar to how XB1 cases say XB1). The PS4 cases uses a full sleeve on the front with no plastic. That requires an entirely different production run. At most these are just blue versions of the cases Criterion (movie not games) uses on their BDs.

I don't really like the blue scheme but the cases look sturdy. Hopefully they won't be those cheap ass cases with missing plastic like on certain wii/360 games and blu rays.

This definitely won't happen.

But if it did. My god. The feels.

Sexy shade of blue.

Cases are making it really hard for me to decide physical vs digital.

Leaning physical.

Much prefer these to the PS3 ones.

I disagree. 80%
Infinity%. But then blue's my favorite color, at least proper blue and darker blues rather than lighter blues or the teal bullshit Nintendo tries to sell as "blue" at times.

EDIT: Actually I like green too, but I prefer more of a leaf green than the slightly lighter variant Mountain Dew of the Xbox.

Seems like they want to attach some Vita branding to the PS4, probably to get interest up in the Vita as PS4 adoption is looking strong. Wonder if it will make any appreciable difference.

There's loads of different blu-ray cases out there for movies, Viva Elites, the snap-shut ones, those flimsy ones, etc. Every movie studio uses a different one pretty much.

That said I hope by "taller" the OP doesn't mean these cases are taller than the standard that ALL blu-ray cases are. My shelf is built for blu-ray boxes, not DVDs.

I don't know why I assumed they would be the same size as a blu ray case.
They look similar to criterion blu ray cases, only blue. Which is a good thing.

Someone needs to go to GameStop and measure the case dimensions. I need to know if my custom covers will fit.

You made custom covers for ps4 games already? Anyways, even if the case is BD sized, seeing as how its lacking the blue bit on top; if you covers are sized for that they probably won't fit anyway.

I'm willing to bet the PS4 cases are just blue versions of these. The case is the exact same size as a BD case but without the plastic bit on top, allowing for larger artwork

Let's hope they travel better. The PS3 cases were terrible in terms of the disc coming loose in the box during shipping. I had more discs broken loose in the package than any other console.

The Day One packaging for the Xbox One is super classy and should be the standard box. With the cases, the embedded Xbox One logo on the top is real nice.

That's real? Dayam. I do wish MS' Day One packaging would be the standard. So sexy.

: O

That's beautiful. I'm really baffled how they freaking nailed the packaging for the Day One console and at the same time vomited all over the standard packaging.
