People killed Nintendo *after* they got their hands on the sluggish WiiU OS. If people get their Xbox Ones home and the OS is still a mess, then they should kill Microsoft.

The Wii U OS is great now, although it was 11 months after launch when it finally got fixed.

Tell me how you really feel. No really, this reads like a youtube comment.
I'm the last person you'll find doubting anything CBoaT, or Mort type. I'm not disputing what Mort wrote on his blog. I'm not defending MS.
There were a few people complaining about Spencer's non-answer on twitter a few pages back, and I'm wondering how he could have said anything other than what he said.
Sometimes people just dilute information into infantile good vs. evil BS like you just did, and I'm just curious what other people could have done.

Your question was that how we should answer those question in place of Phil. My answer is why we should even care how he will answer those questions. His job is PR for MS. He won't say anything bad about MS thus his statement on leakers info is irrelevant.

I don't care about his answer at all and i don't see why people should seek that answer if they know they won't get out of anyone anything without hurting company they work for.

If there is bad news for either console, and if CBoaT or a Mod knows it, then the fact that they are choosing to hold on to it till launch rubs me the wrong way.

I'm buying a $400 machine based on promises made to me half a year ago. If things aren't going according to plan, then I deserve to know. Sure, its the company's job to tell me, but if Sony/MS aren't honest enough, then they deserve to have whistles blown on the status of these machines.

Botux pls giv truthbomb ;_;

This is all part of the fun of a console launch, I remember the Pal launch of Dreamcast and the epic connection problems, this will not be on that scale so I'm not worried.

It'll be something to tell your grandchildren, you were there.

Ur gonna roll w the conspiracy view on this one?

What conspiracy. MS has basically told us nothing and shown us very little of a console that lunches in less than a month. If it weren't for leakers and other people we would be basically blind in rergards to that thing.

Wii U's OS was absolutely fucking shit at launch. It was embarrassingly bad and was a chore to use.

It's great now.

I think it's a bit hypocritical for me to comment on it as I have long made up my mind about avoiding MS after being a day one 360 owner, but I guess I count as someone utterly disenfranchised with the Xbox brand.

My decision to go with a 360 and stay there were mostly based on the OS and functionality that the 360 provided. Every single time I played on PS3 I just couldn't deal with how badly designed the OS Menu and friend system was. The same is true on WiiU, mind you, and if I weren't such a huge fan of their games I wouldn't put up with it, but ever since the 360 got it's big Metro facelift I started to actively hate the OS and since Sony pretty much tied on functionality in most aspects by now I couldn't see myself going back to put up with MSs shit.

And from all we've heard of the Xbone OS it's not looking rosy. The specs are insignificant for me. Consoles are always second rate when it comes to high end tech, but that's what you sign up for, so to argue about a minuscule difference like the one between the Xbone and PS4 is silly to me. But to see that Sony might have a more stable and focused OS at launch is mind boggling. How the tables have turned.

CBOAT only leak stuff that are confirmed truthfacts. If he didn't post already he either work to get other sources to confirm it or gather additional material.

Enough with the negative news.

Who is being assigned to make the official threads for both consoles?

A standard big game would have its post done already. Somebody get to work please.

Dude quit trying to play police man. Half your posts are sarcastic snark that undermines what the thread is about.

Exactly. If my Xbox takes 11 months to work well, I'll be ripping them up and down every chance I get.

Yes. The bashing was well deserved.

I don't think MS will take anywhere near that long to straighten things out.

I do wonder,

at what point does a representative of a big corporative videogame business company send GAF/Evilore a "cease & desist" letter regarding CBOAT?

Seems silly to get all annoyed over something that you don't 100% know is an issue. You might as well not really worry about it and then feel free to go mental if it ends up sucking.
The fact that MS has been so dodgy about it speaks volumes about the situation. If there was nothing wrong, they'd be at least a little more open. That's not to say they're alone in this, since Sony will likely face serious issues, too, but I think the Xbone simply is going to be much more severe based on what we know.

Dreamcast launched in late 1999/ early 2000 ... im pretty sure most people were running dial up ( at least i was) and the least of my worries was online multiplier when it came to consoles.

Things are a bit different now.

Man, I like Yoshida's idea of showing the PS4 UI at the beginning of their Gamescom conference even more:

In my opinion, it looks like Sony had a clear and concise vision of what they wanted their console OS to be. Easy to use, connected well socially and built for sharing - and above all, built for gamers. It's a pretty reasonable goal, and it looks like they've done well.

Microsoft on the other hand have literally thrown absolutely everything into their new console OS, with each MS division having a hand, hoping for it all to stick to attract a wider entertainment based market. A much harder task than Sony's, and very ambitious. But hey, they have a year and a half on plan to get it all sorted....

"wait, what's that? Sony is launching THIS YEAR?!

FUCK"

And as such, we end up with a rushed, buggy mess of a console.

Not sure that this counts as in insider source but apparently a certain bigbox store will not have working demo xbones until after the holidays.

Not really anything worthwhile for this thread. Could be anything. Same as info about small blogs not getting consoles early. I worked for small polish gaming site and getting anything early was either impossible or you had to sign fucking piece that essentially said: Either your site will give our games 7 as minimum or no early review copies and couple of other things that would make you head hurt. This is why i don't trust any early reviews from small blogs and sites and them not getting early stuff (like consoles) reporting it as "problem"

What's the point of holding out on bad news until launch?

This is what i dont get . If consumers are spending $500 on a device and someone on good authority factually knows about issues which could affect potential customers, everyone needs to know. It is the moral authority of a journalist to get this information out for the good of the consumer.

I don't think there was any online multiplayer at launch, Chu Chu Rocket came a bit later from what I remember, it was connecting to Dreamarena and browsing the web at at launch, yeah I was on dial up back then.

not worried at all if theres something to count on ...that is xbl
I think that IS the worry. That people will go into this and say "shit son... Xbl got this" not realizing (from the sound of it) that the xbl in one isn't the same OS API that was in 360.

He has been wrong in the past you know.

Yes 3 times .
1 being POP on E3 which from some reason wasn't shown (but we know is in dev) and Mirrors Edge being on MS e3 conf which was later at EA conf.
Other than that there is only Sony releasing console in october but he didn't say it as truthfact and he said it is not solid info.

Aside from that he was right EVERY time for years leaking absolute shit ton of things about MS.

Can you believe there are people on other gaming sites questioning Sony and their OS or in their cases lack of a demo??

Grasping at straws and all
