I'm a fan of this. Not a huge achievement/trophy guy by any means, so I won't feel left out if I missed one of these, but challenges like this would cause me to fire up a game I may have otherwise neglected.
Really it's more like Windows 8 was an updated 360's interface.

That sounds like a shitty thing to do to a customer, not something funny. *shrug*
Read the whole thing. Guy gets the game way early and gets banned. Frank works with him to get him unbanned - just needs to prove it's a legit copy. Guy doesn't - wants to protect the source of his early games or is the source of his early games perhaps - and the ban doesn't get lifted.

And get instabanned? Well, if he would be someone who was massive on YouTube and could afford throw away console I would be fine with that, but he seems like a small fish and I would feel bad to encourage him to break all embargoes for Gaf and internet.

People need to understand that using something obtained legally before the street date does not violate any rule or law, and is not cause for a banning unless the company wants to expose themselves to a lawsuit. The occasional reported banning is expected, when it is mistaken for piracy or someone simply makes an error. But really most of those people are simply lying (I think Halo 4 guy was banned for using a physical, but stolen, copy of the game.) Can Microsoft ban the X bone guy if they want? Yes, in the sense that no one could stop them. But legally, they simply don't have the right to.
