Wait, Dog Sled Saga was available to play at some point before? Damn it.

EDIT: Oh, early access for $15.

Ah, I should learn to scroll! Didn't see the Deluxe offer. Hmm, I'll hold off for now.

In the meantime, free demos:

Interference: This is obviously in a very early stage, but still I must voice my concerns. The movement is really clunky and a glaring issue not exclusive to the stealth sections. I'm probably alone with this, but I don't like how the character models look or move. Something about the look feels cheap. I did find the puzzle mechanic itself interesting, so I won't write this off completely.

Specter: Very much enjoyed this one. Stylistically, it reminds me of Rogue Legacy, but it's actually an action platformer with some really neat lighting. Your character gains new abilities and perks for finishing levels which is always fun. The only gripe I have with this is, again, the jumping. I constantly had to work against it since I would overshoot every time. This is sort of a make or break matter for me, so I'm hoping that they will tone it down.

You are most certainly not alone in this, I've given the game (even if it's alpha) quite the ribbing in the past ;)

Taking over for Hof today :)

StarDiver - (PC, Mac, Linux, Consoles)
Melee-newss-800.jpg

The goal is to revive my personal favorite game type, the space opera! By mixing favorite aspects of classics like StarFlight, Star Control, SunDog, Universe, and Tradewars, I hope to bring what I loved as a kid to the current generation. Quirky aliens, arcade space battles, planetary mining, and adventure around the galaxy -- should keep us busy developing for a while.

Very interested in potential Bleed 2. The first was a bit of a surprise stealth hit for me and I would love to see the game developed further.

Was reading through the Rimworld forums, have you tried the pre-alpha build yet Toma?

Now that I think about it, I'm happy that I didn't preorder at a higher tier. Would rather experience a fuller game when it's more fleshed out. Doing the same with Incognita, waiting for a few updates to go by before playing again

Man I've been out of action for what feels like forever - missed some real gems in this thread so far.

Risk of rain sounds/looks pretty good - and I know Sony are 'interested' in it coming to their platforms too.

I've been playing my 3DS more than anything else at the moment - really need to break out of this cycle I'm in waiting for my new job to start...

Starting with....Zomboid, Shelter or something else!

Given it's published by Chucklefish, it might just cross over to handhelds.

Been out of town and not able to stay as active, apologies.

Here's the newest MetaVendetta episode, the show about indiegame tunes. I think it's pretty funny. Let me know what you think:

I like experiencing different builds of games, as long as I notice they are coming along somehow.

And no, I still didnt play yet, because after years of ignoring it because of its shitty predecessor, I finally started Final Fantasy XIII-2. And its really engaging. Trying to push through the game, so I can focus on some Indies.

Blasphemer! I would have accepted any other game ... but not that!
I was busy with it as well, doing some cleanup and etc .. but the YLOD fairy paid a visit :/

My YLOD fairy visited me after I did most of the main and side stuff in GTAV (50-60 hours?) shortly before the end. Couldnt muster up the will to start again, meh.

hey guys, we've released our little game It came from space, and ate our brains earlier this month for WIN, OSX and Linux ($2.99). And we're also trying to get it on steam through Greenlight.

FTL will have a free update.
http://www.ftlgame.com/?p=598

Mind Control System: Temporarily turn enemies into allies. Force a boarder to repair the damage they just did, or have the enemy pilot sabotage their own helm.
Hacking System: Lockdown and disrupt enemy systems. Unique effects for each system, ranging from forcing a teleporter remove boarders to making the medbay damage instead of heal.
New Sector and Events: Our writer Tom Jubert has returned along with special guest writer Chris Avellone (of Planescape fame), who managed to find some time for us between his work on Project Eternity and Wasteland 2. They’ve been helping us add a new sector and scatter new events throughout the rest of the game.
New Weapons and Effects: Many new weapons that take advantage of new mechanics: overcharging to increase the number of volleys, stun effects to freeze crew, and area effect targeting, to name a few.
And more systems, drones, augments, enemy ships, enemy layouts, and hostile environments. All of which we’ll be sure to talk about more in the coming weeks!

Holy crap. HOLY CRAP.

As much as I hate ftl I may just play it again to see if these additions make it a more enjoyable experience.

Out with you! :p

Humble bundle has expanded into a complete storefront. 10 percent of purchases goes to charity, this is not a slider like their bundle deals. Opening day sale going on as well for what looks to be their complete store lineup for the moment.

https://www.humblebundle.com/store

There does not appear to be any standard for whether a game will be DRM free or be cross platform. Several of the games are windows & steam only, while others have DRM free versions, windows, mac, and linux support with steam keys as well. The money is split 10% to charity, 75% to the creators, and 15% as a Humble tip.

Cross posting quoting.

Think I might have to install FTL again...

And nice, Humble Bundle has a store. Finally.
Prison Architect for 14.99, I think that's the lowest price yet
Rogue Legacy is tempting, but I must stay strong and save for upcoming Kickstarters...

I ended up getting Gunpoint. Love it so far.

Man, you haven't played Rogue Legacy yet? Definitely one of my top 10 games of the year.

@FTL news: I guess that game deserves a second chance. For the title theme alone.

You are most certainly not alone in this, I've given the game (even if it's alpha) quite the ribbing in the past ;)

Played the demo.

And yes, just the kind of first scenario I needed me to get me back into FTL:
My first jump, fight with pirates, ship gets boarded, as I fight back solar flares disable my ship and starts fires in various rooms, struggling to clear the fires as the oxygen is dropping and the boarders sabotage my ship, kill him but another flare knock out the cameras, get those online only to see fires everywhere, only one option left, huddle my remaining crew in the room with the most oxygen and open all the airlocks, clear the fires but there's barely any air left, we die and my ship drifts off forever

Edit: how do I heal my crew in FTL?

I hope you played through on hard. I felt like it was a good length on that difficulty my first time through.

Super glad to see a sequel may be in the works :)

Beat every difficulty on story mode. Failed horribly at Easy Arcade. XD

Bleed has a Grim Fandango reference, it is therefore a great game.

That's what I figured, but I had someone in the Medbay with 23 health. Three jumps later, never took them out of the room, still the same health

Didnt the rooms need energy or something? Havent played it in a while.

I've been playing Beatbuddy in the last couple of days, reached half of the game today. So far, I'm disappointed. The music and art are pretty great, I must mention it's a pleasure to watch the game world reacting to the music. However the gameplay is severely lacking. I completed half of the game and I've only been doing basic tasks and solving simple puzzles until now. There is barely any variation or a difficulty increase. I'll say the game is worth picking on sale (66% or more) if you are someone like me, a person who appreciates the art and music in indie games as can tolerate lacking gameplay, but otherwise stay away.

Fraid he's not the only one...

Another one here.

Was the room being powered?

I was under the impression that JaseC was posting here, but you're not him. I guess Saoirse fan club is growing around here...

What kind of a state is Prison Architect in at the minute? Noticed it was on sale, and am very tempted, but would want a moderately playable game at the end of the day. Otherwise I'll hang around for a sale after release.

Definitely playable, very much so actually. If you don't have any problems with sandbox simulation games in general, the current price definitely seems fair to me.

Oh yeah, that dodgy hairdryer trick worked! No more YLOD on my PS3.
Wonder how long it'll last though. Best to get those games out of the way so I can replace it with a PS4 when it breaks (rather than buy another PS3)

Sadly my opinion will be slightly biased (Bought it Day 1 like Alpha 2) but there is alot of meat in the game currently. It's a good price and from what I understand, they're heading into Beta soon as most of the core features has been added.

Excellent - thanks for your input. Looks like I'll be picking that up this evening, then! And nope, no problems with sandbox simulation games - Dwarf Fortress is one on my all time favourites.

EDGAR is a 2D adventure platformer starring the father of Gothic poetry, Edgar Allan Poe. Fight monsters and get loot as you chase Jack the Ripper through an alternate version of Victorian London. EDGAR is currently being developed in Unity3D by a small of team of developers. The goal of EDGAR is to create a 2D lootfest with heavy influences from Gothic literature, while combining it with imaginative gameplay and quirky customization. Bram Stoker's Dracula, and over a dozen other literary classics will have deep-rooted places within the plot of EDGAR, giving players a chance to get a "feel" for the Victorian era, even when the game is presented in a fantastical manner.

Good to see Sokobond up on steam, it's rather enjoylbe. Hopefully they'll add some achievements so everyone can see just how unbaliebaly smurt i arm. Also faintly amusing to see CLANG get through, that game hasn't existed for quite some time now.
