Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Has Amazon's Payday 2 deal come and gone? It's still $20 and I thought the sales would go live today?

Nah, I'm not too interested in the EE hate. Played the first Baldur's Gate EE and it worked great and had a big support and mod community behind it. That community is just going to keep growing as the Steam EE edition destroys GoG in sales.

You mean the same GOG version (which is the retail version) that has been steadily supported by fans for well over a decade?

Spacechem is an amazing puzzler.
Sword of the Stars II is a great 4X.

Beware, tho: Spacechem is also a difficult and unusual puzzler, that has the best appeal for a specific niche (uh... chemistry enthusiasts? :D ).
It never really clicked with me, for example, and in good heart I wouldn't really suggest it to everyone.

Yeah, it's not for everyone, but if you enjoy a harder, more cerebral style of puzzler, this is your game ;)

Started playing Fear 2 and man the encounters feel rather vanilla compared to the original. And what the hell did they do to the shotgun?!

You disappoint me.

Are there really many original mods for the EE though?
The BG series has one of the better mod communities and concerns about compatibility with some great older mods (and lack of time) has held me off from fiddling with the EE.

The chemistry is just flavour for the most part, it's more like abstracted out programming.

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.

Funny thing is: I'm a programmer (so yeah, I should be a "programmer type" :D ) and also, before dropping out of university, besides computer science, I totally loved chemistry.

But I don't know. I remember Spacechem with a lot of overwhelming stuff going on everytime, especially when you start having more factories (labs? whatever) in the chain, and I was never really able to sync elements around.

But yeah, as people are pointing out, basically Spacechem is a puzzler based on some kind of low level programming language. Something that I, being a PHP dev who just barely touched (and hated) assembler back when I was studying, really can't see where's the appeal. :D

Shooting things in Borderlands is approximately 57683 times less fun.

Yeah, Rage feels a lot better, shooting in BL2 kind of reminds me of... Mass effect 1. Just started it though.

I had a lot of fun with borderlands 2 co op. I should go back and play it more, I have the season pass DLC and I haven't touched that part of it yet.

I think I'll try to get my friend to play it, will probably be playing SP mostly!

I own Rage, but that 25GB download sounds.... ugh

I usually leave my computer on to download stuff, since I don't have a cap, I kind of abuse it and download games whenever I can :lol

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I think we can all agree that superior shooting experience in the style of Borderlands 2 is actually the fly swatter game from Mario Paint.

I play a few hours of borderlands 2 every couple of weeks. Eventually, I'll get through it.
I think we can all agree it's less fucking brown than RAGE tho.

Rage is still a lot better looking than some of the muddy desaturated shooters with a lot of bloom though, I actually find it quite beautiful, sure it's a lot of brown but it's really clean and sharp looking.

Finished Dear Esther fellow GAFfers.

After a long day I was feeling tired so I decided to go for it. The game felt very relaxing, which was the sole purpose for me to play it. Nice piano tunes and soundtrack overal helped creating the soothing atmosphere I was after. There are areas of the game that are pure eye-candy. After completing the game I now really want to have Skyrim on PC (finished on the 360 when it was released) with the HD Texture Pack installed for the upcoming Winter.

The one thing I really disliked was the narrator, I wish I could not have it and just let me create my own story or use this walking-simulator to reflect on life, relax or make my own thinking. Every time he started talking it felt like a cheap-bland-forgettable-book with a voice. Little things like some candles here and there made me believe there was someone, or something to look for, however, all I could see was a distant silhouette of someone in the top of a Mountain. When I reached said place I only found myself alone, again.

For those that are able to experience Journey (indie, PS3 Exclusive) it's a must. Unique, emotional soundtrack that made me realize that, what matters is not the destiny, but the journey itself.

While it may be less brown, it is much whiter.

Which is to say that Borderlands 2 is for the birds!

Yeah that's right: I just made a shit joke Edgy as all get-out.

Awesome Monk!
I LOVED Dear Esther, the atmosphere, the "non-gaming" aspect to it. It was an interesting experiment.
I took like 500 sreenshots on that game.
