Oh, a new game? Sweeeeeet. Hopefully, both 3DS and Vita is served, so no one's left alone. The series has proven successful on both consoles, too.

Wait, there's 2 scroll on the teaser website... two games maybe?

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

Two scrolls could mean Senran Kagura 2. Burst isn't actually a sequel, more of an expansion, IIRC. I suppose it's 3DS as well: the producer said SK2 (not Burst) would have been a 3DS title, and, at the time this will be released, two years will have passed since Senran Kagura Burst Japanese release - which is somehow the development period for lots of titles: just see how many titles released in 2012 on 3DS are getting a sequel in 2014.

Vita or (no) bust.

I can't read japanese.
Me neither, I just make the story up in my head as I go along.

Let's hope not. Region lock + too few pixels to properly display Life / Hometown would make Dave a very sad panda.

Burst is the better game though and I'd love to see the engine improvements made. SK is more or less a launch period game and Burst was just an expansion pack with a few new enemy types.

Oh, you're right. The producer did say that, but maybe their plans have changed? Well, colour me excited anyway... especially since the European release shouldn't be too far away :)

They have to make a Senran Kagura 2 beforehand :)

I really don't know how they're numbering these games lol Like I know Burst is 2 games in one and then there's Versus. Maybe they're not even going to number it and will just call it Senran Kagura Ultimate or something.

I'm ready , will pick another sengan kagura , as long as it's on vita.
shinobi versus was amazing

There is an hilarious story on the Shinovi Versus website about Haruka and Yagyu meeting at a cafe to compare their experiences with Hibari. Needless to say, Yagyu wasn't too thrilled by how the whole thing turned out :)

It's pretty simple, actually. Or maybe not :)

Senran Kagura Burst was a retelling of the storyline of the first game from the Hebi girls standpoints with some (a lot) of minor modifications, and with the first game included in the cart. Think about Rebuild of Evangelion with the TV series included on the same blu-ray disc.
Shinovi Versus was described as a gaiden/side-story from the start.

Jut saw this news on FB. :p
Also, there's an article where XSEED talks about Shinovi Versus, Corpse party: blood drive, and other 2014 related stuff.

So everything else was more of a spinoff rather than sequel? Makes sense for wanting 2 then lol

I hope we will have a 26-episodes Shinovi Versus anime series when the new game will get released :)

Spin-off yes, and at the same time Burst/SV slighty altered the canon. If there is SK2 it should be in the same continuity than Burst/SV, but maybe not :)

Well that teaser site sure is interesting. I'm hoping this news has to do with Shinovi Versus. I haven't heard any good Vita news in a while, except for Danganropa.

Well, we can only hope that it'll be a Vita releaes, and that Xseed will take the opportunity to also announce the Vita localization. :-(

Last I heard, they went with Burst first since SV has events that take place after Burst, so they wanted to bring them "in order" story-wise. Though I wonder why not just go digital again. Granted, I'm sure some people wouldn't be happy with no retail again, but it'd help lower the risk they fear if it goes retail.

At the very least, it sounds as though Burst sales have met their expectations.

This is for Japan though. So I doubt it's that. But if this makes you feel any better

Following on the success of Senran Kagura Burst, do you have any plans to localise Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus for the Vita in the west - and if so, is there any chance of a physical release in the US?

If Burst can keep its early sales momentum and continue to sell well, it would definitely help our cause when talking to retailers about potentially stocking a physical release for future titles from that series.

Shinovi Versus ratchets up the "humour" aspect quite a bit, making Burst seem tame by comparison, so if we work on the title and plan for a physical release then there's always the risk of some mainstream news outlet catching wind of it and deciding to run a crusade against it.

Worst case scenario, the news segment gets wide distribution and people that normally have nothing to do with gaming start petitioning retailers to pull it off store shelves, leaving us with tons of unsellable inventory.

We will need to be sure this can't happen before committing to a physical release.

To me it sounds like they're ready to do it, but they're still wary of if they should do a physical release or not.

They could always do a limited physical release and have the people pay up front for it like Ni No Kuni Wizard's Edition...
I could see them doing this, again lowering the risk that they fear of the media picking up on it and complaining about it.

But anyways, it'll be interesting to see what the teaser is amounting to. Heck, wonder if it'll have even MORE characters to play as.

Nice! That sounds pretty good. If all else fails, I'm guessing they can just stick with a digital release. Regardless, if this is mostly Japan news then I'm hoping for a sequel or some kind of spin-off on PSV.
