No sale for PAL PSN confirmed? Well fuck paying $30AUD for costumes but I will begrudgingly buy the character DLC now so I don't miss out on the cross buy.

its sad tbh, for the price of the 2 characters on psn you could get both characters, the value pack and a dl of the game itself for almost the same price on 360

That really sucks.

Urgh. No discounts for PSN EU and the Blog guys aren't at all helpful with their complete silence. The Blog users are helpful though for digging this up:

Basically,
1. No sale for Europe before DLC and game removal;
2. "Vita is not affected by this";
3. "vita dlc will prob stay it will just wont be cross buy."

So they're going to stop it from being cross-buy?

Strange that Vita is exempted.

XBLA says "Get alternate costumes for 47 characters in this great value pack! (*Please note that the alternate costumes for Jill, Shuma-Gorath and Magneto are not included in this pack. You must complete the title update to use this costume pack.)"

so how do you get the Magneto costume?

You don't (no one does).
All except Magneto (never made available because of the Spanish royalty controversy), Jill (included automatically when you buy her), and Shuma (also automatically included with his purchase).

Well, at least they confirmed the Vita version will stay up.

Which makes me wonder why the Vita version is unaffected by all of this, unless this is part of some Sony mandate that all physical games have a digital version as well.

Vita version released three months later in the U.S.

This really sucks. I wish Capcom would make a Marvel style game only with characters that they own so that licensing would be irrelevant.

We all know how well THAT worked out...

That game was a good idea, but it came at a time of oversaturation and it obviously had some design issues. The idea is still very solid regardless of how it was poorly handled before. At this point Capcom could use a game with a ton of single player content that is a crossover ad for all their current IP's. Just put in the equivalent of MK9's Crypt, and Test Your Luck, dump the Heroes and Heralds mode from UMVC3 into it, add some character minigames alla TvC and throw together a blaz blue style branching character story tree of unlocks. There you go. Suddenly you have a way to make everyone become fans of the rest of your products.

Honestly if they did it like Power Stone it'd probably work better as it'd nail casuals.

But on the plus side Chris G will go down in history as the best. Marvel. Player. Ev- Damnit Marvel!

Then again this could all balance out after Ultra launches and Capcom gets that Poison fanboy money.

That would be amazing. Also, hats and lots of them. Make a casual all-stars game fighter. The roster alone sets the tone of silliness. When people want the serious stuff, it will be layered in there.

That wasn't a Marvel style game, it was more like CvS. And it was a decent fighter, with some balance and polish issues that could've been fixed with a sequel. A lot of SF games that are the first in their series have similar issues.

I think you just kinda described Capcom X Sega X Namco

Damn, don't have enough remaining in my account to justify me buying more points that I want to spend to get all the dlc. Will have around 3ish bucks remaining after purchase of the game. What dlc should I get with the umvc3 game? Jill, Shuma, or any other costume pack? I won't have enough for value pack.

I'd say Jill and Shuma. Costume DLC is just costumes, although they're not the best characters in the game they're still fun to play.

Jill & Shuma over 6 costumes for sure, no brainer IMO

The Marvel license is just too expensive these day.

These games were more viable when Marvel was going bankrupt.

For them? Yes.

For the outfits of the other characters? No.

I thought the value pack was every costume including all that femme fatale, villains pack stuff.

So the Jill purchase, Shuma purchase and the $4.99 value pack is all the dlc, except Magneto costume right?

Xbox is showing some weird shadow battle shit. It's with umvc3 but says it's part of marvel vs capcom 3 etc.

Is that worth it? I'll probably just buy some more points, can use whatever a left on some other title. Just so I can have all the dlc for umvc3.

Shadow Battle is only for vanilla. And it's kind of dumb.

Really a shame. I wanted to get this game eventually, but only after I plowed through the many Capcom games that I want to beat (Devil May Cry, Resi 2-4, and Okami). Not really making much progress, so I don't think it would be any time soon, in all honesty.

Checking the PSN store though, it looks like everything is there for the Vita still. If I still get it, I will just be sure to get the Vita version, unfortunately though I would assume that the online is dead.

Did anyone ever confirm or disconfirm if cross-buy still worked by buying the Vita DLC? As a backdoor for getting the PS3 unlock keys.

Here's an interesting question if someone could answer. If you buy the Value Pack for Ultimate do the Vanilla costumes work in that version or do you have to buy them separately?

Dear Triple Da G.O.D! of the past and all who will read this.

I'm Triple Da G.O.D! from the future here to answer your inquiry.

No. Buying the Value Pack doesn't go backward. You still have to buy the Costume Pack in Vanilla to use it in THAT VERSION!

So in order to have a complete DLC set for both games you'll need to buy the following.

The Costume Pack from Vanilla + The Value Pack from Ultimate.

All 10 Shadow Battles. The 1st's free however.

Jill & Shuma.

Buying all the above will assure you that you'll have a full catalog of all the DLC for the series as long as the service in question has it available to redownload from your Download History.

I hope this helped me from the past. We'll see each other at the singularity. Love you lots!
