FFXII runs great.

Couple audio hesitations when loading dialog but other than that, awesome.

Ran on DX11 hardware, 1920 x 1080, FXAA enabled, color boost up 5% saturation, forced v-sync in my nVidia application settings.

That's good news, I only recently got into PS2 emulation. Nocturne looks the same as far as I can tell, I don't remember that white line on the left though. Looks like a couple of you guys have the same line.

I really wish they had a Flicker-fix border setting like in ePSXe where they let you crop a few pixels to get rid of any garbage on the edge of the screen.

PCSX2 supports DirectInput I thought, so as long as you set up the DS4 in the controller plug-in it should work fine.

If a game with a wide-screen hack also has an in-game wide-screen setting should the in game setting be set to normal or wide-screen?

Also is an English patched version of FFXII IZJS recognized by the wide-screen configuration in the emulator?

Tomb Raider. Looks shit.

Funny how the 360 pad works straight away with it, while the PC version hates it and won't work because of the analogue triggers. Text in the menus in missing but overrall its probably still worth playing this over the buggy as hell PC version. I only fell through the floor once on PS2, I had to restarted the game like 3 times due to game breaking bugs on PC and that's after the patch.

I believe you should leave it by default.

The Widescreen mode in FF12 is +width -height which is to say, you give up some height to get the bigger width. The WS hack is purely +width which is superior in every way.

I'm not sure on the last one... patches are applied based on their CRC of the main executable... I'm not sure if the translation of IZJS messes with this at all... I'd say it's a try it and see kind of thing. If it does, it should be VERY easy to port the widescreen code to it.

Is that with the internal resolution pumped up?

I tried SMT: Nocturne for the first time ever on my PS3 a few days ago. It looked awful and ran pretty choppilly as well. Was even making me feel nauseous and headachey due to the blur and some stuttering here and there. Clearly the PS3's PS2 emulator wasn't too good at running it.

It'd run good on PS2 obviously but still look bad, even over component. Looking at the screenshots in this thread and some Youtube footage earlier is making me delay playing the game until I can do so properly and I will do the same with the rest of my PS2 backlog as well; FFXII, DQVIII and more!

I want to eventually build a gaming PC primarily for this emulator. What kind of specs should I be looking at for the best experience? And how much would such a PC cost in £?

I forgot how much of a gigantic pain in the ass pnach file cheats are.

Also, the way resolutions work in this emulator is stupid compared to dolphin.

Yeah, looked even worse before.

Here's Fire Pro

That's all I've got for now. I can't be bothered digging anymore PS2 games out and my disc drive sounds like it's going 500mph.

Holy fucking shit. I can't believe I just played Forbidden Siren 2 (PAL) flawlessly just now. No more spiky polygon syndrome!

I can finally experience the true sequel to the first Siren. Based PCSX2 devs.

Have you found a way around the bloom and ghosting issues?

Unfortunately that just seems to be how the game will look when you raise the rendering resolution. You can help keep things from sliding all over the place with the 'disable CRCs' option, but this can also make cutscenes and other areas look like crap. And ideally we'd also be able to enable the 'half-pixel offset' option but it creates lines that go through the middle of the screen in most areas. So.

Went through the games I've already got ripped on the computer to test out the Widescreen hack, some good results I think. Also took some screenshots. Unfortunately locations are limited to what saves I have on my PC so some of these aren't the best of locations. :p

Tales of the Abyss, seems to have a blurring/bloom effect on it, I think it was present actually on the PS2. Can't seem to find a way to remove the blurring but keep the lighting. >.<

I've been playing Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future at 1920 x 1080 v-synced(it has native widescreen support) and it looks fantastic. This is great way to play older games without it tainting you're memory.

Incidentally, does the widescreen patch not work for FFXII? I tried booting up the International Edition, and it still seemed to stretch. :(

If I remember right FFXII has widescreen support built into it to begin with in the options?

Yeah, thinking about it, you're right. Totally forgot about it thanks to so little games actually having native support.

As noted, the built in option is vert- (you lose some of the top of the bottom of the screen). There IS a widescreen patch for all versions of FF12 that gives true widescreen support (horz+)

okay, I'm trying to play KH2 from the disc, but it's not recognizing my PS3 controller. MGS3 recognized it in the previous emulator version(1.0.0).

-edit- nvm, got it to work

What game is that in the OP? Please label your screenshots, guys! Especially if it's more obscure than Final Fantasy or Metal Gear which most should recognize.

Looks like an RPG I missed out on.

Fantastical

Death Prophet
I've been playing SSX 3 on PCSX2 for a couple weeks now and it's so incredible. I'll definitely download the new version.

I'll probably try out my copy of FFX instead of buying the HD remaster. Does this emulator support 1440p?

You can enter whatever custom resolution you want, but I think generally it's better to just use the multipliers for 2x-6x resolution or whatever the max is on the newest versions

Booted up KH2 from disc with the internal resolution of 1800p* (DX11 hardware enabled and FXAA). Looks great and runs at 60fps.
*I set the internal resolution to 1800p, but screenshots with FRAPS only come out at 1080p for some reason.

What's the current status involving Ace Combat IV/V/0, Shadow Heart, and the Sukioden games for this current version?

I went ahead and updated everything. I need to alter with some of the plug ins to get my resolutions right, not have any stuttering, and to not have my stuff windowed.

I assume save states don't carry over? I'm still running on 0.9.8 and I know savestates from 0.9.6 didn't work for me. :(

They do...however I thought they didn't as well, until I figured out that the new version actually stores my Saves/Save States in the documents folder, instead of actually where the PCSX2 is Installed.

I have a few questions for some here:
1.Ape Escape 2: In the distance, some stuff is garbled/texture flicker, usually steps and stuff until I get near then it fixes it self and the the next thing in the distance starts doing the same, until I get to it again.(Any fix? I run in Direct3D11 Hardware)

2.Tales of the Abyss for some reason is pretty dark almost like the bloom is gone(I think that is what it is) if I use software mode it goes bright like on my PS2, however on PCSX2 hardware it just seems dead in comparison.(Any Fix?)

3.I ripped Onimusha Dawn of Dreams with PowerISO, I played the game and I have horrible Graphic glitches everywhere, like all garbled until I get into the game and then it is decent, but menus and such are garbled randomly.(Could It be my disc? I hope not...or maybe Power Iso is bad for ripping, but Tales of the Abyss is fine besides the issue above and Ape Escape 2)

4.Gradius V does not work at all it just stays at a black screen Any fix for this?(Ripped with ImgBurn 2 years ago) Actually I will re-rip with Power Iso unless someone has a better tool?

5.Maximo Army of Zin is just bad, Ghosting everywhere texture problems, in Software Mode it plays wonderfully, however looks dreadful.

Lastly Dragon Quest VIII the disc is scratched a bit, so I never ripped it but it plays alright through the disc drive, Fps drops due to the crap disc drive but oh well, however if I enable the wild arms fix to fix the text my health bar/mp is bugged if I disable it, HP/MP is fixed but text looks glitchy.

Anyway to have the best of both worlds?

Also what is the best site to Buy and Import Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System? I want to try out the patch, but if the game is $50+...yeah I'll just re-play the original version in a few months.

Thanks Guys.

EDIT:
I72600k@4.6GHZ
8GB DDR3@1600MHZ
SLI GTX 670 4gb
Windows 7-64 Bit
PCSX2:DIRECT3D11, 4X Native(Or should I just stick with 1080P as that is my max resolution?),FXAA, Nvidia Hack everything else is default and the MTVU speed hack is enabled)

Hey guys, sorry this is slightly off topic, but what is everyone using for NES/SNES/GB/GBA emulation these days?

I saw a thread with beautiful screens from an emulator, but forgot what it was called.

Thanks!

Is the timing/latency still all out of whack on games like Bust a Groove? I tried playing that with every possible setting and it's completely unplayable. Same goes for playing it on the PS3.
