I am -franticly- looking for the charger to my old 2009 Laptop from collage that I haven't used in 4 years. Pretty sure it still works, but I'm terrified to think how much porn is on that thing and want to wipe the HDD first

I gave my brother my old laptop when his broke. Wifi is wonky on it but it definitely boots to Windows still. I'll have to ask if he still has it.

Seems PowerBooks are exempt. I saw a similar reply from the Reddit thread in the OP. Folks with a 2010 MacBook may be eligible for $250, though.

My screen isnt cracked and it boots and works just fine, nothing is functionally wrong. But part of the plastic separator between the screen and keyboard is broken off, I wonder if theyll take it. I only paid $450 for the thing at a Black Friday deal a few years ago, so $75 would be a good deal.

Think my mom still has our shitty older laptop laying around somewhere, though. It might finally be time to get rid of that thing.

I'm glad I remembered about this. It was sitting in storage with no hard drive in it. I actually had the original 120GB hardrive from my PS3 sitting some where so I grabbed that that popped it in. I then found web site that still hosted all prior versions of latest windows 7 installer and created a bootable flash drive to do a clean install of windows 7 (didn't work at first because I used a USB 3.0 thumb drive instead of USB 2.0). Also had a backup battery for it that still holds a charge (I threw in the original so that best buy could just recycle it for me). Charger was still flawless too.

In retrospect, I could have maybe made good use for it for something else, but that just wasn't likely to happen. I have a great comfy couch set up with a HTPC hooked up. If I want to use PC at my work desk, I would just the steam link hooked up to my monitor and use the desktop remotely. If I wanted to have a laptop to travel with, this would have been considered to be too heavy for me (which is crazy because in 2011, this was such a thin laptop!)This thing was a great little guy that served me well. The switching between discrete and integrated CPU was awesome and it had good like battery.

I was wondering if I could have gotten more for this. I don't think it would have been much more and would probably not be worth the hassle. The hinge cover was broken anyways, which is something a Craiglist buyer would not want to see.

I wonder if they would take my 8 year old Asus that has a dead battery? Works with the charger plugged in, but the battery doesn't take a charge at all.

Wow, nice. My old laptop has a dead battery but it works perfectly fine as long as it is plugged in. I might have to look into this.

I think it depends on the Best Buy. People on Slickdeals were reporting that they were able to trade it in still.

I still use it, because it's a $109 refurbished Asus Transformer book that actually performs and boots up quickly. My other two laptops are trashed and/or I can't find missing screws.
