Ubisoft are giving one 'lucky' gamer the chance to become the first person to play a video game on Mount Everest with Far Cry 4. Terms and conditions are extremely interesting...

"THERE IS INHERENT RISK OF DEATH AND SIGNIFICANT INJURY TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY ASSOCIATED WITH THE MOUNT EVEREST EXPERIENCE ("EXPERIENCE") AND BY PARTICIPATING, WINNER UNDERSTANDS AND SSUMES THIS RISK."

How do they know some other climber hasn't already played a 3DS, a Vita, or Candy Crush at one of the base camps or something?

On Mount Everest doesn't mean on top. They're only taking you to a low area base camp.

This is nothing but clickbate marketing.

Whoever goes, needs to dress up as the Ice Climbers while doing it.

I can barely connect to Ubisoft servers on ground level. I'd hate to see what reception will be like on MT Everest.

So I'm going to drop $37,000-48,000 for the fees. That doesn't include the airfare, the gear, the food to play a video game. If I'm dropping that kind of money I'm doing it to summit Everest not to play a game.

But you're a gamer man! How can you ever not think of your most excellent hobby, video games, no matter what you're doing!

At first I thought it was funny because nowhere does it say they're the first to play a video game on Mt. Everest. But RIGHT IN THE VIDEO they say it...

Pfft get lost Ubisoft, if I want to climb Mt. Everest it won't be to play your games.

Didn't some guys take a DS to the top of Everest a few years ago?

edit: yup. Nintendo did it already.

Was even a thread on it in 2005

Damn from the article it seem like that the DS really hung in there.

That Nintendo build quality for ya.
